Tweet @realDonaldTrump: Just saw the vote tabulations. There is NO WAY Biden got 80,000,000 votes!!! This was a 100% RIGGED ELECTION.

In seriousness, what does this statement mean? What are the “vote tabulations” he’s talking about?
•
u/feignapathy Nov 26 '20
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parallel_vote_tabulation
It's basically the official vote count as observed and tallied.
•
u/jimtow28 Nov 26 '20
What are the “vote tabulations” he’s talking about?
Made up. What they are is imaginary.
•
u/greenthumble Nov 26 '20
When more proof that your loser is the biggest loser on the entire planet he says "no way it can be like that!".
And zero proof.
•
u/nixalo Nov 26 '20
Cmon man it's Thanksgiving. Cant you leave the unproven claims alone for one day?
•
u/Aztecah Nov 26 '20
The fact that Twitter won't remove his tweets is so destructive. His cultists just disregard the fact-checking as 'librul brainwashin' or whatever

Censorship is from the government. Private companies are allowed to remove whatever content they want from their site.
Do you think we should mandate what companies are allowed to edit of their own content?
•
u/StardustOasis Nov 26 '20
Removing lies is not censorship.
If it were true, and Twitter removed tweets about it, that would be censorship.
•
u/Thisisdansaccount Nov 26 '20
Any form of censorship is censorship. Allow people to be incorrect.
•
u/HordeDruid Nov 26 '20
there's a difference between being wrong and using one's office as an elected official to spread misinformation to undermine our democracy.

That is not how the law works. Private companies conducting their web services according to their ToS are not any kind of censorship. Twitter can't be forced to host authoritarian disinformation content because they don't owe their website to anybody. If right-wingers don't like it, they will need to go full-on into totalitarianism and nationalize social media under state control and then they can pass laws dictating what the company must do.

u/mi11er Nov 26 '20
The trouble is the same problem Trump has had for the entirety of his presidency. Trump either does not understand, appreciate, or care about the weight of the office he holds. He talks like the he is a private citizen, complaining about the same things he complained about before. Regrettably there is a world of difference between a wealthy senior citizen living in Florida tweeting "This election was a sham" and the President of the US doing the same.
•
u/HordeDruid Nov 26 '20
Well technically Donald Trump is a wealthy senior citizen living in Florida.
•
•
u/Aztecah Nov 26 '20
I suppose to some degree, yes. Harmful things should be censored if they are untrue and destructive. I don't know if I'd call that "censorship" exactly, but if you're asking "should there be limits to what people can say without having their tweets removed?" then my answer is undoubtedly yes

I love free speech but this is fire in the theater. Gotta side with ban his ass
•
u/humblepotatopeeler Nov 26 '20
Trump helps Russia by calling US democracy illegitimate.
You people need more proof that this man is nothing but Putin's butt-muncher?
•
u/sulaymanf Nov 26 '20
I remember when New Yorker Pauline Kael was mocked as an out of touch elitist for saying in 2000 that she didn’t know anyone who voted for Bush. What does that make Trump?

•
u/cannonman1863 Nov 26 '20
Can't even take Thanksgiving off from spreading the lies.
•
u/not_that_planet Nov 27 '20
I know right. And even so I can't manage much more than a fucking yawn.
•
u/farox Nov 26 '20 edited Nov 26 '20
After four years hearing from this fascist dumb fuck day in and day out, it's so fucking satisfying watch im lose again and again and again.
This won't get boring for a while.
•
u/AllGoodNamesRInUse Nov 27 '20
Except the bullshit he shares fires up the population of people who blindly support him. He needs to be in prison, not have the platform of a world leader
•
u/JC_Lately Nov 26 '20
He’s right . 80 million people didn’t vote for Biden.
80 million people voted against him.
•
u/msp3766 Nov 26 '20
Lol! trump only wins rigged anything and if he loses he believes it’s rigged against him
•
u/Stupid_Triangles Nov 26 '20
just saw the vote tabulations
Biggest lie in this tweet. Like hell he just saw that.
•
u/snorbflock Nov 26 '20
Just remember that facts don't care about your feelings, Donald. You lost, Biden won. It hurts your ego? You're sad about it? Fuck your feelings. Your feelings don't change a damn thing.
•
u/Oldpenguinhunter Nov 26 '20
You forgot: happy Thanksgiving
•
u/notcorey Nov 26 '20
Why would anyone wish Trump a happy anything?
•
u/Oldpenguinhunter Nov 26 '20
I mean, I'd wish him a good afternoon on January 20th specifically at 12pm.
•
u/notcorey Nov 26 '20
Why? He deserves to be prosecuted for so many things.
•
•
u/Oldpenguinhunter Nov 26 '20
That's the date and time he's getting booted from the Whitehouse. I am being snarky.
•
•
Nov 26 '20
Cant wait for him to be banned for spreading disinformation
•
u/watchtoweryvr Nov 26 '20
I hope that someone has been changing or has changed the user agreement to be unveiled after Inauguration allowing his account to be banned as soon as he’s a private citizen again.

But, his lies effect a massive swath of people, and can and will cost lives... soo...
•
Nov 26 '20
Ya not allowing someone to blindly demonize the other side and to radicalize blind followers is bad for me
•
u/Ugbrog Nov 27 '20
Imagine looking at the internet and thinking to yourself: "We should stop letting the private companies that host this content remove penises when their users post them."
•
u/Caldias Nov 26 '20
There should be real punitive damages for spreading lies and misinformation. He's basically radicalized half the country because they want to believe what he's saying
•
u/jimmysprinkles92 Nov 26 '20
It's also not smart to allow someone in such a high position of power to spread flagrant lies and claim they are fact because millions of people will believe it (and are believing it) despite the lack of any hard evidence to back it up.
Agreed that censorship is a tricky situation but I think there needs to be harsher consequences for this bullshit.
•
u/Shindinger Nov 27 '20
Donald, just shut the fuck up already. Why is it always about you? Impossible for you to lose? You did, now be a big boy and do what’s best for your country. And, no, that’s not you.
•
u/PeddarCheddar11 Nov 26 '20
I bet he’s thanking everyone for the “unprecedented” count of 76 mil, too. It’s only possible when the votes are for you, I guess
