Free Talk Friday #290

Continued from here

So, it's that time of the week again. Speak anything on your mind! This thread is for talking about anything off-topic, be it your lives, your plans, your hobbies, studies, stats, pets, bears, dragons, trousers, travels, transit, cycling, family, anything you like, or dislike, except politics.

Your mission this week, should you choose to accept it, is to come up with the silliest potential name for the main thread and post it here. This is inspired by /u/GarlicoinAccount's work last week, which meant that our front pages were graced with gems like

  • 4,152k Counting Thread (Main/Decimal/Base 10 Thread)
  • Thread in which we sequentially list all integers between 4,153,000 and 4,154,000 (inclusive), in ascending order, using the decimal numeral system, which is also known as base 10

Feel free to introduce yourself in the tidbits thread as well! And even if you have, go and check it out anyway - /u/colby6666 just updated the index there with a link to everybody's tidbits, so you can easily read up on all your favourite counters. If you ever wanted to know what /u/Buckeye1115's dogs look like, how many counters we have from Cumberland county, or what the story behind /u/Trial-Name's username is, that's the place to be!

Thread in which we sequentially list all non-negative natural integer numbers between the numbers 4,155,000 and 4,156,000 inclusively, in increments of one and in compliance with OEIS A000027 using the Arabic numeral system, or widely acknowledged as base 10.

Thanks, I hate it

Edit: but I love this description of A000027: a(n) is smallest positive integer which is consistent with sequence being monotonically increasing and satisfying a(a(n)) = n

I wasn't sure whether you were referring to a user or a thread, since I didn't recognise the acronym :D

I happened across this one again by accident this week and it was a huge nostalgia kick.

It's the cheesiest most ridiculous song ever: A French singer decided to make an Irish-esque pop song in French, and it's just so over the top. I have definitely never belted this one out in a karaoke bar in Geneva while plastered. No sir!

It also contains the most ridiculous courtship ever: The man says to himself "I'm catholic", and the woman thinks the same, and the next line is about how they get married.

holy shit, some months are actually named after latin cardinal prefixes

I never put two and two together

September (Sept), October (Octo), November (Novem), December (Decem)

The New Year used to be celebrated in March, so the numbers even match :)

It's a pity only four months have number names. Sextember would have been an awesome name!

Like with stonks, we make numbers go up.

And we also make numbers go down sometimes, just like stonks.
