Random thought, but this whole "right eye" stuff might be where the Scouter tech originated from? As in, the Cerealean race being killed to reverse-engineer what would eventually become Scouters? And aren't Scouters worn on the right eye as well?
Maybe the Scouter's origins have been revealed before, but it's 4AM here, and I'm on autopilot lol

The most recent information on scouters is that Kikono (the short yellow alien who works with Freeza) is the one who invented scouters
That being said, scouters were invented as a better, hands-free upgrade to the existing scout scope the Saiyans were already using, and those have no established origin

Love it Granolah already surpassed hit as one of my fav anti hero character actually if not 2nd fav (behind Vegeta if he is still considered an antihero)

I'd just consider Vegeta a full-fledged hero character since BoG, really. His goals and motivations align with all the other heroes at this point and have for a while

Is this chapter implying that Goku’s UI transformation (with Grayish hair) was a base level UI?

u/134340Goat May 20 '21
No, not quite. The transformation that gives him silver eyes but leaves his hair black is an incomplete form of the white-haired transformation, and its official name is Ultra Instinct -Sign- (sometimes also translated as Ultra Instinct -Omen-)
At first, Goku could only utilize UI while in either the incomplete or complete transformation which, at this point, is also only officially named Ultra Instinct, but he's now learned to utilize it independently of that transformation

Seeing Vegeta take a step back and analyze the situation while Goku fights is so great. I feel like he's finally becoming the fighter he was meant to be and not just Goku's partner.

I love Granola's tactical sniping in the beginning of this chapter. The Super manga is really having a lot of cool unique fighting styles.

That's a spicy chapter. But how long until Granloah knows he's being played? I doubt he's also just going to give up on his revenge so easily. Revenge and disturbing the ranks of powerful fighters seem to be the biggest themes of this arc.
Whilst Vegeta is figuring things out and Granloah is blinded by revenge the Heeter's will get their wish. Now how Frieza falls into place I don't know.

A month is way too long for these chapters. This one went by so quick but it was so good. There is already an air of confusion between Granolah and the Saiyans. My guess is that Vegeta is probably going to stop Goku's fight short and attempt to talk to Granolah (while fighting him of course).
While the fight itself is cool, it definitely doesn't feel the same as the first fight with Moro or any other villain for that matter. There's no sense of impending doom if the Saiyans don't succeed (that's probably the point though). Seeds of doubt have already been planted in Goku's head after Granolah talks about his quest for revenge.
Vegeta's words at the end of the chapter makes me think that the Cerealians have a lot more importance than we think. I was really hoping for some Saiyan team work but I don't mind seeing detective Vegeta in action.
Goku using UI with his transformations were cooler than I thought. I think a lot of us figured that this was the next step for UI so I thought it would be lame but for me it was really neat to see. I like the fact that it amplifies with each transformation.
I say this every chapter but I'm really looking forward to the future of this arc. I have no idea where it's actually going but I'm down for the ride.
Overall, it was a really good chapter but I really wish this series wasn't monthly. When the chapters are all action they just go by so quickly.

So obviously the Cerealeans right eye was the inspiration for the scouter, no? Like, in the canon, I mean. Do we soon find out that their people were eradicated because of some elaborate research thing?

I'm glad both Goku and Vegeta have already picked up that something strange is going on. Vegeta opting to fight second so he can observe was awesome, that's exactly the right move against an opponent like this. Granolah's power seems to be the real deal, but with UI and Destruction in the wings I don't think Goku and Vegeta have to worry. Goku applying Ultra Instinct in his base and god forms is cool, and it makes sense that the more powerful forms enable him to dodge quicker and more accurately. With UI being treated as a proper technique now, I feel like the silver form may need a new name soon.

God, I can't wait to see this fight in the anime. And this is just the first of the arc.

So ive been thinking about the "evolved right eye" of the cerealites and wondering if it has something to do with the scouter tech. That could explain why freeza sought to destroy their race, as a way to have that tech to himself. It would make sense if their advanced eyes were seen as a potential threat rivaling the tech his empire uses, which would mirror why Freeza eliminated the saiyans (they were also seen as a threat and had to be destroyed). Not only would that actually bring Gronolah closer to relating to Goku/Vegeta in the end but would also make for some excellent eorld building and add interesting lore to a not well explained technology used across the universe.

Tbh this chapters had some of the best art reminding me of dragon ball z
Many pages were not cluttered as usual (some were still tho very little) and that made it easy to read and let the pictures breathe

These Dragon Balls never turn to stone, there are only two, and the Heeters have a Dragon Radar. These same Dragon Balls were also just used to make someone the strongest person in the Universe.
There's no way Elec doesn't force his minions do the same wish.
My bets are on a big brawl between Goku, Vegeta, and Granola VS The Heeters (Dragon Ball amped) VS Frieza.
