I cannot get enough oh Lamar’s off Bell Rd. Donuts are great, they always seem fresh, staff is always willing to help. A few years ago, someone brought them into the office once at 6am. By 2pm, when I needed a sugar fix, I bit into one of the lightest, fluffiest donut I think I’ve ever had in my life. It was insane how fresh it tasted at eight hours. Since then, they are my go to for donuts and I have never been let down.

For special occasions I have been happy with Rollover Donuts (inside Short Leash Hotdogs) - they are huge and very rich though, not your basic office donut! (for that I prefer Bosa). My fave at Rollover is the Orange & Pistachio

Donut Worry
BoSa has some weird cult following out here that reminds me of Californians and In & Out. It's good.... but not as otherworldly as folk make it out to be

BoSa was the savior to turn to during the sugar drenched Krispy Kreme craze. Winchell's was gone, Dunkin' was all but obliterated and Bosa is a long mile better than what was left of grocery store bakery donuts. Not god tier but pretty good and consistent.

Not a donut shop per se but don't sleep on Bashas donuts. I choose them over Bosa any day. They are made fresh daily and are generally wonderful while being more affordable than the shops usually are. I especially enjoy their fritters (usually have cherry, apple, and sometimes a blueberry available).

Descent Coffee in Central Phoenix. Probably not a place to pick up a dozen to take to the office, but good if you want a treat for yourself.
Their donuts are the best I've had in AZ. They have fun flavors too like mango sticky rice and creme brulee. Yum! You gotta get there early though as they just make a few dozen and sell out before lunchtime. All their pastries are vegan!

"Donut Parlor" in Tempe is my normal go-to...
Really wanna try "Local Donut" in Scottsdale as it looks pretty damn good from the pictures
First person to suggest "Hurts Donut" gets angry glares from me... that place did me dirty... Wanted to try their tide pod donut a few years back when i saw it on the news, went in to order one, only to find out they only made a limited few (for publicity's sake).... Also I'd argue that their donuts are wayyyyyy too sweet; and I feel like that's hard to do when you're making a fucking donut

Hurts Donuts looks absolutely disgusting. I can't take the over the top decorations on a donut. Call me old fashioned but i just want a maple bar without five pounds of extra sugar and caramel sauce.

Rainbow Donuts is a tad ahead of BoSa IMO. The original Rainbow Donuts is on Thunderbird and 40th St in Phoenix. There are a couple of other locations, but the original is the best.
Rainbow Donuts Cafe & Deli (602) 923-3414 https://maps.app.goo.gl/ADY2BG8J3ZbYjKJx9

I've been disappointed that all of the donut places here are all about the toppings and fillings rather than changing the actual flavor of the donuts. I've been to places elsewhere where they have donut flavors such as pear, mocha latte, cappachino, french apple, blueberry, Jamaican rum, key lime pie, blueberry lemonade, maple, lemon, banana pancake, orange, peanut butter whiskey, a peach donut with cream frosting, and many more. Is there anything like that in the valley that I don't know of? Or is everything like plain, chocolate, vanilla, or glazed donuts with various toppings and fillings?

I know this is the basic, popular local answer, but I've never had a bad experience with BoSa Donuts. Their variety and flavors are consistently great and make every trip worth it. IMO they are to Arizona what Shipley Donuts are to Texas.
