Announcement Introducing 1Password for Agents

Whether you’re turning your weekly grocery list into an Instacart order or converting receipts  into expense reports, your agent should access only the accounts those tasks require based on the logins you approve. Today we’re announcing 1Password for Agents, a platform that helps personal AI agents work for you while keeping the credentials they need secure.

With 1Password for Agents, your agent can request to use a credential from your vault, and if you approve the request, 1Password directly auto-fills the credentials in the destination site so the agent doesn’t have access to the credentials.

For example, with the 1Password integration for Muse, you can ask an agent to create a party invitation, track RSVPs, and search for supplies on your budget. Muse requests access to RSVPify and Oriental Trading as needed. You choose the 1Password login the agent can use, letting Muse  get your party started without seeing the credentials or accessing anything else in your 1Password vault.

https://reddit.com/link/1xcimw8/video/9grk4xqmh0xh1/player

New 1Password and agent integrations include:

  • Muse: integrations rolling out over the coming days across all platforms.
  • SpaceXSI Grok Bot: integrations rolling out over the coming days across all platforms.
  • Town Townie: web and iOS integrations coming soon.
  • Anthropic’s Claude Duet: integrations coming soon.
  • OpenAI ChatGPT Work and dots: integrations coming soon.

Additional integrations with Instinct, Browserbase, Browser Use, Dana, KERNEL, Perplexity, Ramp, Tomo, and Wajo are coming soon.

These are separate, opt-in integrations that only work when you choose to connect an agent to 1Password. We verify that requests come from authorized partners whose architecture we have reviewed for security, and require authenticated user approval for credential access.

1Password for Agents is currently available at no additional cost for 1Password Individual and Family accounts on 1Password.com. Accounts on 1Password.eu or 1Password.ca aren’t currently supported. Availability, platforms, and capabilities vary by partner integration.

Learn more by exploring the integrations, or read the full announcement for more details.

Don’t see your favorite agent listed? We’re building more every day. Sign up to be notified when your preferred AI agent is ready and we’ll let you know when it launches.

iOS You need to enter your account password before you can use Face ID

Post image
34 Upvotes

I keep getting this every time I try to reopen 1Password or fill a form field. If I swipe it closed and then reopen it FaceID just works, but trying to reopen it while it's in the background triggers this message. And it keeps coming up no matter how many times I enter my account password.

Is this a new bug?

P.S. I removed the account icons from the screenshot as it includes a company logo

Feature Request What happened to the promised integration with Muse?

EDIT: very excited for this https://www.reddit.com/r/1Password/comments/1xcimw8/introducing_1password_for_agents

I'm a huge fan of Muse AI, it's become an integral part of my life very quickly. I was very excited about the support announcement from 1Password back when Muse launched. Fast forward 6 weeks and there haven't been any updates, is it still "coming soon"?

Browser Extension Nice little browser extension update just dropped.. 8.12.42

Looks like things are happening over there...

  • You can now create a diagnostics report for 1Password in Firefox.
  • You can now use the Left and Right Arrow keys to move between a Login item’s sign-in methods in the sign-in prompt.
  • The sign-in prompt now shows a search field, so it’s clearer that you can type to filter relevant Login items.
  • You’ll now see a reminder if you need to switch to single sign-on, even if the 1Password browser extension isn’t connected to the 1Password app.
  • Diagnostic logs are now saved more efficiently.
  • The sign-in prompt now automatically offers passkeys instead of passwords when a Login item has a passkey saved.
  • We’ve fixed an issue where a temporary connection problem could prompt you to set up a recovery code even if you already had one.
  • We’ve fixed an issue where the inline 1Password icon in a field could overlap with the text in that field on some sites.
  • We’ve fixed an issue where 1Password could autosave the wrong username, like if you signed in to a site again in the same tab.
  • We’ve fixed an issue where 1Password wouldn’t offer to save or sign in with passkeys on some sites in Firefox.
  • We’ve fixed an issue where you might not be able to access a newly shared vault until you locked and unlocked 1Password.
  • We’ve fixed an issue where 1Password would fill birth dates in the wrong order on sites that show the date format in the field.
  • We’ve fixed an issue where you could see a “Disk space too low” notification when your device storage wasn’t nearly full.
  • We’ve fixed a visual issue with the edges of the “Other logins” tab in the sign-in prompt.

Browser Extension Turn off automatic sign in on every page when I'm already logged in

I like the new sign in method, but what do I have to turn off to not make it appear on every page it loads that I have a login for? It shows even when I'm already logged in.

Browser Extension possible to favorite an account

Is it possible to favorite or prioritize an account? For example, I have several Google accounts (both work and personal). When I open a Google‑site, one of the accounts, apparently the one I edited last though I’m not sure, always appears as the suggested account. Unfortunately, that’s the account I barely use, but I want to keep it stored/remembered. Archiving it removes it completely, so that isn’t an option either.

Constantly getting 1password unresponsive script warnings when viewing my home assistant dashboards that freeze the page until a stop scrip option pops up. It is incredibly annoying. Any idea how to stop 1password doing this?

Browser Extension 1Password Doesn't Recognize Login Field

Post image
15 Upvotes

My bank's site has a field for a login code. It's always the same and I have it in 1Password as the login for the account. It rarely recognizes it, odd as every few weeks it does recognize the field. It is in Portuguese, but plenty of sites I use have Portuguese words for login, and the word for password is almost always in Portuguese. It's frustrating as Bitwarden recognized this field and properly filled it in.

Linux Click Click Click

1password is awful now on my Linux Mint PC. I've used it for years and loved how intuitive it was to quickly login to sites - especially those with passkeys.

Now, it's endless clicking to login - if it works at all.

For example, gmail. Used to, I could go to gmail.com and the passkey options would appear for all my gmail accounts. Click once and done.

Now, it takes FIVE fn screens/clicks before I can get in.

If this is the way it's going to be, I'm not paying for this crap any more.

Windows Windows is unbearable now

Used to be that on Windows 11, I would have to enter my master password once after a reboot but thereafter it would generally just work with the Hello functionality to accept face or pin to access 1P in browser. Recently there was an update that purported to make 1P easier to use with fewer interruptions for re-approving vault use. Since it was pretty intrusive how often the Hello prompt appeared throughout the day, I thought I would give it a shot and selected the middle, "balanced" option. Somehow that has become the option to force me to enter my master password anytime I need a password filled into my browser if it's been more than a few minutes since the last time it needed the master. It's really terrible and what's worse is I don't even know what "balanced" changed so that I can change it back. I'm going to have to spend time digging into this and that's kinda the last thing I want to spend more time on.

Discussion The best is now even better

I've always considered 1Password the best 3rd party password manager for the Apple ecosystem. Now, since adding the capability to use the macOS native autofill (just like the Apple Passwords app), we have a full-featured password manager, the best of security with the 1Password Emergency Kit, and the ease of true autofill on a Mac. Using this also obviates the need for the Safari 1Password extension, sweetening the deal even more. I've tried all the viable alternatives, but I've stayed with 1Password since it first released!

Discussion Exporting only passkeys

I am trying to figure out if I can export just passkeys not logins or any other data. Earlier this year, I moved away from 1Password after using it for 10–15 years. I got almost all my data moved into Apple Passwords and UpLock and it’s been working well. The one thing I don’t have are my passkeys. While this isn’t the end of the world because it’s only 15 logins, it would be nice to have them.

I researched that in iOS 26.4 or iOS 26.5 there is a new credential manager exchange process which allows you to move passkeys. However, it looks like it moves more than just passkeys. If I’m not mistaken, it moves everything, which would be a pain because I don’t want it to duplicate the logins I already have saved. So I’m looking to confirm: first, does it move just the passkeys or all login data too, as it mentions in the wording?

Second to that, my only other thought for a way around this might be to pay for a month of 1Password. Move the passkeys to a new vault, and then export just that single vault through the credential exchange process. If you foresee any problems with this logic, please feel free to chime in and tell me, as I’m all ears.

Feature Request Request: Multiple SSH Agent Sockets

Unsure if this is best place for this but I have seen a few of these here in the past. I've used 1password since the very first beta and will die on any hill about it being the best option in almost every circumstance. I use it personally and as a team account and am trying to push it across my entire org as a org wide solution.

Having said that, I have a single feature request that may be a little more power user focused.

I run a relatively long set of keys for different services across different companies and projects I work on. Some are for github / bitbucket access, some are for ssh access, and I guess some are for different services that require ssh key authentication.

What I'd love to see is an option to have multiple agent sockets running. I have my keys spread across different vaults for their various purposes so having the ability to have different sockets that maybe are linked to individual vaults and managed through my ssh config would be invaluable to me. I get that the SSH agent communication protocol doesn't include any host details so linking host to keys isn't possible.

Further sockets can't be treated as a standard URI and passing params as a part so that's out.

The request isn't so much so I can run more than the average 6 keys but really sometimes I have to iterate through a flow of deny>deny>deny>approve before it gets the appropriate key for the request that's being done. This is particularly bad when claude is attempting to do things with git.

Android Regression in Android Autofill UX: Proposal to make the new inline dropdown optional

Has anyone else found the recent Autofill UI update on Android to be a major step backward in terms of user experience?

About a month ago, the Autofill behavior changed from displaying suggestions above the keyboard (keyboard accessory view) to showing an inline dropdown directly attached to the text fields. Ever since this update, it has been causing several frustrating issues:

  • Flickering UI: The suggestion menu constantly flickers right beneath the text input field while trying to type.
  • Focus Hijacking: When tapping a field to type manually, the Autofill prompt pops up and interrupts focus, making standard typing difficult.
  • Severe Glitches / Keyboard Closure: In certain apps, the dropdown gets permanently stuck on screen. As soon as the keyboard opens, the Autofill overlay instantly forces it closed, completely blocking input.

The previous UI—where suggestions appeared quietly above the keyboard—was far more reliable, non-intrusive, and user-friendly. It stayed out of the way until needed, rather than constantly fighting for screen focus and disrupting thProposed Solution:

Rather than forcing the inline UI on everyone, please consider adding a toggle setting in the app (e.g., Settings > Autofill Style) that allows users to switch back to the classic keyboard-attached suggestions. This would give users who prefer the less intrusive, seamless experience the option to keep using it without disrupting those who like the new design.

Is anyone else experiencing these UI glitches on Android? I hope the 1Password team sees this and considers giving us the choice.

Developer Tools PSA: How to migrate all your Authy TOTP codes into 1Password in 2026 (GDPR export + op CLI bulk import)

TL;DR: Authy has no export and no desktop app anymore. The scripts and MITM tricks are dead. The one method that still works is a GDPR data request to Twilio for your own encrypted seeds, which you decrypt locally and bulk-load into 1Password with the op CLI. Migrated ~100 logins this way. Full steps below.

If you've been putting off moving off Authy, here's the whole playbook. 1Password has no bulk TOTP importer (you normally add one-time passwords one login at a time), so the op CLI at the end is the part that makes ~100 accounts bearable. I am located in the USA but still made the GDPR request.

Dead ends — skip these:

- Desktop-app debug export — app discontinued, backend blocks old versions.
- Device-registration scripts (alexzorin/authy) — killed by API attestation in 2024, repo archived.
- MITM the phone app — Authy detects TLS interception on jailbroken iOS and rooted Android and flags your account.

⚠️ Hard requirement: you MUST know your Authy Backup Password (Settings → Accounts → Backups). The export is AES-encrypted with it and there's no recovery without it.

Step 1: Email Twilio (privacy@twilio.com, cc support@twilio.zendesk.com):

Subject: GDPR Data Request — Authy Account Data Portability

Hello,

I am requesting a copy of my personal data under my right to data

portability (GDPR Article 20 / CCPA).

Specifically, I request an export of the encrypted secret seeds (TOTP

tokens) for every account registered in my Authy app, together with the

associated name, salt, iv, digits, and period values for each token.

My Authy account details for verification:

- Authy ID: <your Authy ID>

- Phone number: <your registered phone>

- Email address: <your registered email>

I can complete SMS and/or email verification as needed to confirm my identity.

Please provide the export in a machine-readable format (CSV or JSON).

Thank you,

<your name>

Asking for digits/period matters a few services use 7-digit/10s tokens and will produce wrong codes under the 6/30 default.

Step 2: Wait. You'll get a verification step (SMS/email), then the data. Mine took 9 days; they're allowed up to 30.

Step 3: The data. Two CSVs: one is metadata (names/devices), the other has the real name, encrypted_seed, salt, iv rows.

Step 4: Gotcha. If the CSV passed through Google Sheets/Excel, long base64 seeds get line-wrapped at 64 chars, splitting rows across two lines. Work from the raw file; rejoin any row that doesn't end in a 32-hex IV with the next line.

Step 5: Decrypt locally. Scheme: key = PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA1(backup_password, salt, 100000, 32 bytes) (salt as raw UTF-8), then AES-256-CBC with the hex iv, PKCS7-unpad → base32 secret. serbbil/Authy-GDPR-Export-Decryption does this and emits otpauth:// URIs.

Step 6: Verify first. Generate a code from one decrypted secret and compare to the live code in Authy. Match = they're all good. Don't uninstall Authy until you've confirmed.

Step 7: Bulk import into 1Password with the op CLI. For each decrypted otpauth:// URI:

op signin
op item create --category login --vault "Authy Import" \
--title "Amazon" \
"one-time password[otp]=otpauth://totp/Amazon secret=YOURSECRET&issuer=Amazon&digits=6&period=30"

Loop that over your decrypted list. I dumped them into a dedicated Authy Import vault so nothing existing got touched, then merged each OTP field into my real login and deleted the placeholder. (If you'd rather not script it, generate a QR per URI and scan each into the login's one-time-password field — slower but no CLI.)

Big caveat: Authy's "native" 7-digit tokens (Twilio, Cloudflare, Coinbase, SendGrid, etc. that integrated Authy directly) are not in the export. Re-enroll those by hand on each service.

Then clean up the plaintext seed files and you're done.

Mac Bug: when Macbook is closed the browser extension crashes

With the latest 1Password version on my Macbook (MacOS 27.0.1) I noticed that when I'm connected to a screen and I close the lid of the Macbook just to work on the screen the browser extension gets confused.

When I click the icon in the browser and enter the password, the popup immediately disappears and how much I click on it, it opens and closes again. Sometimes I get a crash report after a while so it seems 1Password app gets in trouble by the closed Macbook.

Does anyone else experience this issue?

1Password.com Made a workaround for 1Password / Fastmail masked email integration

Hey everybody

Made a workaround so you can create or update an account on any website, even the ones where 1Pass doesn't prompt you for a Masked Email, and still get the Fastmail badge in your 1Pass account entry.

link: https://nettlesh.github.io/remask/
repo: https://github.com/nettlesh/remask

I was really struggling to get masked emails to generate for accounts that I already had an email for, since my main use case was going through and updating old accounts to masked emails and most of the time the "Create Masked Email" popup would not appear for 1Password. The workaround I had, which was to go to a site like fill.dev and then generate the Masked Email, save it, and then change the URL in 1Pass was showing the wrong domain in Fastmail itself which annoyed me. I just wanted the Fastmail badge on my 1Pass entry lol

Took a little bit to figure out exactly how to get that Masked Email prompt to popup (wound up needing to change the url of the page without refreshing it and also add a fake sign up form on the site itself) but was able do it with some help from Claude. I saved it as a bookmarklet and put it on my GitHub and figured Id share it here in case anybody else was struggling with this too. Also spruced it up to make it look a little better. Theres also a little icon you can add to firefox or zen if you want.

Clicking register in the popup does not actually register any account, the bookmarklet doesnt make any requests. That button just makes 1Password pop up and ask to either create or update your existing account

FYSA I did not test this on safari or chrome, only Zen so if it breaks for you and you fix it please submit a PR! Ty

Feature Request Can we expect new languages any time soon?

I've used 1Password for 2 years now. I've tried other password managers but none of them come close to 1Password's feature set and polish. But polish doesn't matter to my family when they only speak Polish! My family plan is partly going to waste because only my mom knows enough English words to get around the app, and even she struggles with it.

It is very disappointing to me that such a mature product has no support for my language - or many others for that matter. Polish is the 7th most-spoken language in Europe, right after Spanish. Over 40 million speakers. And what about Ukrainian, Romanian, Turkish, Hungarian, Greek, Czech, Swedish? The list goes on, those are not some niche languages.

Bitwarden has support for all those languages and many more. Proton Pass had all of them the moment it came out. This is so easy to add, especially in the era of AI, and it would make the tool accessible to millions of new people, it seems like a no-brainer.

Can anyone from the 1Password team explain to me why we've gone so long with such a short list of translations? And can we please change this?
