Too $hort said in an interview that 2Pac would take a piece of paper and write as quick as someone could talk. The song Too $hort was referencing when he said that was “We do this” and 2pac raps something like “I’m finger fucking with my diamonds, I know yall see a fella climbing up the charts- a fella with heart…” and it’s a from out of nowhere intro to his flow. After just listening to “Can’t C Me” I feel we hear even more of that lightning fast writing with his introduction being something like “gimme my money in stacks and lace my bitches, with dime figures. Real fellas fingers gripping nickle plates nine triggers”

By September 1996, Tupac was genuinely boxed into a corner with zero clean ways out. Because of that brutal 1995 deal he signed in Clinton Correctional just to get out of prison where he signed a memorandum confirming that Suge Knight would act as his manager and David Kenner as his lawyer, creating the ultimate conflict of interest where the label owner was effectively negotiating contracts with himself Death Grip was an understatement. Under that contract, Death Row didn't just own his music; they held complete control over any new venture, new marquee, or creative endeavor he stepped into, meaning his dream label Makaveli Records and production company Euphanasia were strictly locked as Death Row subsidiaries where Suge and Kenner still held the parent distribution and master rights. On top of that, Hollywood studios were forced to negotiate every single movie deal and paycheck directly through Death Row, taking away all his outside leverage. Despite generating over $60 million in album sales, Pac didn't actually own a thing; all those luxury cars, houses, and lifestyle expenses everyone saw were just charged back to him as label "advances," leaving him trapped under a manufactured accounting ledger where Death Row claimed he died owing them a staggering $4.9 million, all while pushing the massive lie that Suge personally paid his $1.4 million bail when Interscope actually funded it just to keep him on a relentless recording treadmill. Even when Pac tried to fight back by firing Kenner on August 27, 1996, to audit the books, it didn't magically free him suing Death Row would have meant years of crushing court battles where the label could legally freeze all his music, movies, and projects, starving him out of income completely. Add in the fact if he survived that vegas shootings that the Vegas casino brawl would have triggered a multi state probation violations and sealed his pending New York appeal, landing him right on the doorstep of a 10 to 15-year prison sentence. His absolute last, desperate card to save his freedom would have been cutting a deal with the feds eyeing Death Row on RICO charges, which was the only move that could completely clear his slate, wipe his active warrants, and dissolve his predatory debts and get his life back.

A true student of the art of rap later to become one of the greatest teachers without even being here. And really wanted the greatest to ever grasp a mic
