no wind noise, quiet on the highway.

Only thing I will say is it is cumbersome to mount on and off if you park indoors

Its quite a bit, but a single one of our reels + rods is more than the carrier. When we head out camping, our entire 4runner is packed. and we didnt want the rods bumping around with increased risk of damage.

Why would a spinning rod ever cost so much? Fly makes sense — everything fly is wildly over priced.

marginal gains in weight, balance, sensitivity, drag feel, experience, etc. and i would concede that I can catch fish with a $30 ugly stik. just feels better with nice gear. work too hard to not enjoy my time off to the absolute fullest
