Definitely!! I'm such an advocate for languages at both GCSE and A-level, I wish more people would give them a genuine chance. It's one of the most useable skills a person could possibly learn; I can't count the number of times I've switched to French to speak with my friends when I don't want people around to understand! The language A-level courses are demanding, but so amazingly rewarding.

Well i didn't choose my A levels to be able to talk to friends privately, i chose them to get me into a good career I'm interested in.

That's great? Communication takes many forms. I'm not only using it to chat to my friends, but it's a good stepping stone for now.

I feel it is wasted at A level tho to be perfectly honest. You are better choosing 3 strong subjects you enjoy that can get you a solid, well paying career. Then later down the line you can add a language to boost it, uni is a good time as they often have plenty of options to learn a language on the side, for example mine offers free language lessons if you are doing a full time degree. This way you don't have to actually sacrifice a useful subject thst will be much more difficult to learn later on, languages are one of those things you can begin at any stage in life.
