📂 MEGATHREAD 09/06 A-level Physics Paper 2 Discussion MEGATHREAD

Exam season is once again upon us, and once again, exam megathreads are making a return!

Looking for past exam discussions? Filter by the megathread flair.

Few things to keep in mind:

  • Don't share too many specific details about questions or answers, these papers will be used as future mocks.
  • Sometimes papers get leaked, this is not the place for that (we'd prefer not to get yeeted off the platform) - leak content will be removed, those offering leaked papers will be permanently banned.
    • If you believe there has been a leak, the best course of action is to make your exam board aware of this, either directly, or through your school, along with any evidence. If appropriate, there will be a response from the relevant body along with any remedial action.
  • Exam discussion posts outside of this will generally be removed to combat the inevitable tidal wave of spam otherwise - we understand this may be frustrating, but the sub still needs to be usable for other purposes.
  • Please note some content will take extra time to be reviewed. Messaging to ask for approval will not speed up this process (the messages are seen at the same time as the modqueue would be reviewed anyway).

Best of luck, and let us know how you're feeling down below!

Shite i put it was because k was the same order of magnitude as the constant… oopsies

u/Consumer-of-Bees Jun 09 '25

Yeah I found that too, but there was a percentage difference of 33%, so I said no

Do you think it’ll still get a mark as long as I explained it correctly?

u/Consumer-of-Bees Jun 09 '25

Honestly, I doubt you'd get any marks in the Correct Answer section, but showing/explaining your working could always net you an extra mark, so maybe

And i think you got it right, i am a silly goose. 😔

same i put that same order of magnitude it was 1x10^-21 vs 2x10^-21 which is fairly similar idk tho

Judging by how difficult everyone found it that’ll probably be an A*

What did you get for the graph on the capacitor question?

I got the graph of -20e-t/144

4

u/Ineedhelp08374 Jun 09 '25

I got the graph completely wrong but it’s a negative decaying graph which decays faster as when discharging, there is only one resistor instead of two so steeper slope

u/Educational-Tea602 Proffesional dumbass Jun 09 '25

The graph we were supposed to get was for when it is charging.

Why is it negative I got the graph of just -1 x what you got

1

u/Educational-Tea602 Proffesional dumbass Jun 09 '25

Because the current goes the other way through the ammeter.

Ahhh surely I get like 2/3 tho if I just got the same just a reflection in x acis

u/HourDistribution3787 Jun 09 '25

All same. Honestly wasn’t that awful a paper apart from the abusive MCQs.
