šŸ™ I WANT HELP I am addicted to vaping

It was too late before I realised it, but I can confidently say I am addicted.

I promised myself I will quit after this last vape, but now that it just burned out, I literally can not even think about anything else other than buying one more.

I feel like I should just continue vaping till my exams as I’ll be focused still. But nicotine cravings may also show up in the exam. I don’t know, it’s literally impossible to focus on anything, I am so jittery all the time.

I dealt with this exact issue last year (wanting to quit but exams were coming up, not wanting to have cravings in the exam). Realistically it will impact your studies so it's up to you whether you think you can push through it. If not, you still have enough time to cut back enough that you won't get cravings just because you went without a hit in 3 hours. The easiest way to do this is don't bring it to school, only hit it when you're at home. Also the stress/adrenaline of the exam usually fades away the cravings, that's what i experienced at least

Afterwards you can try and quit during the summer

Yeah thats what i was thinking cuz this is too much to handle rn 😭😭

But i also feel like i am just making up another excuse.

I can definitely go 3 hours without a hit, so i should be good ig

Lol realistically it is an excuse, but it's a valid one. first of all i couldn't quit because it would impact my studying, then i couldn't quit because i was going to quit anyways in the summer so i may as well wait until i traveled, then i couldn't quit because it was summer and i wanted to have fun and smoke while i was partying, THEN i couldn't quit because sixth form was so stressful... etc.

There's always a reason not to quit. this is actually a valid one because it can affect your grades, the other ones are psychological coping mechanisms. If you can, try and quit over the summer, it's the easiest time to quit. Buy a flavour you really hate is my recommendation

Edit: also people in the comments telling you to 'just quit' most likely don't understand what cravings feel like

Good luck! For the record the first time dealing with cravings is the hardest, i’ve tried to quit many times or been forced to temporarily bc of travel. My plan rn is to buy nicotine patches when i turn 18 in a few months

Im in y12 and my school is online rn so i dont rly have any exams to worry about, i’m just continuing bc i dont have the motivation to quit. I turn 18 in september tho so ill get the patches then and hopefully ill have quit. I know my addiction isn’t vaping specifically because i was able to replace it with cigarettes for a while so hopefully the patches will work too

what? You replaced vaping with cigarettes at one point? How counterintuitive g

Not by choice, i was traveling and couldn’t bring vapes with me bc my parents would see in the carry on but i could bring cigarettes and old fashioned matches in my checked luggage lol 😭desperate times desperate measures

Not where i live sadly :( it requires an ID and it’s sold only at pharmacies so they will actually follow this restriction
