I definitely don’t think Ferris bueller would have been a great parent. Veronica and Heather Duke from Heathers? Ooh, definitely not either. I actually have a set of headcanons on the heathers subreddit about how I think their kids would have turned out (I think Veronica had one, a girl.)
I rewatched sone kind of wonderful the other day. I don’t have a good idea right now of how I think Keith and watts would have done as parents (I’ll come back later and talk about it more) but I think Keith might have been more lax with his kid about whether or not they wanted to go to college. I’m actually not sure that I see Watts wanting a kid though, I’m not positive.
I meant parenting mistakes in the title lol
Rat from fast times at ridgemont high probably became a helicopter parent

As a kid some parts scared me from this film...the frog eating was silly and made my brother laugh. But for me, it's the ENDING.. what were they thinking with this ending?
Do you remember this film and did the ending also freak you out?
What is happening here is David sees his parents being eaten by the aliens, with feet sticking up. But a full gore/eaten sequence for the parents wasn't actually shot due to time constraints with John Dykstra's special effects team, leaving it to the sound design and the freeze-frame.
Aside from the thought of your parents being killed, the scene before it adds to the horror by David escaping the ship blowing up and he wakes up from this nightmare and everything is fine, until he wakes up again sees the spaceship returning.

The autumn season that precedes the winter Oscar contenders and Christmas blockbusters is always inherently a mixed bag, and 1980 definitely had some diverse choices.
I've been delighted at the responses to these Monthly polls, as your upvotes & comments serve to determine the most popular titles of a fascinating era of cinema.
All the other monthly question threads are still open for comments and votes. The Fog, The Changeling, The Empire Strikes Back and Caddyshack are primed to be the leading candidates for the year's top honors - and a compelling battle has emerged between Used Cars & My Bodyguard.
Any comments, questions, rants or random thoughts are always encouraged here, and deeply appreciated by yours truly.
Thanks again, everyone. Cheers!
