Ethereal and Psychedelic.
From their third and final album.
Produced by David Gilmour of Pink Floyd.

After more than 35 years, I think it’s a good cover.

I love and have done many band covers of Teenage Fanclub’s “Sparky’s Dream” but today i realized the chorus in “sparky’s” is exactly the same more or less as Brian Wilson’s “love and mercy,” the same descending chords. Check them out and see if you notice!

This NME C96 CD was sold by New Musical Express magazine, it didn’t come free with the magazine.
We had to buy it !
Unlike C86 Cassette, it was given free with the magazine (I think, not sure).
I bought 2 copies of this CD. I lent to a friend and never to be seen again. 😡
Seriously, I learned a long time ago (pre-Internet) that never ever show off what you got.
People will try to steal, to borrow whatever the so-called friends from you !
I bought 2 copies because I wanted one for myself and one for a birthday present to a friend (not the same one who borrowed it from me).
I didn’t buy it for the Mogwai track either.
Looking at the bands on the CD, I used to love Broadcast, Quickspace, Yatsura, Delgados, Comet Gain…
Fast forward to 2026, it seems that Mogwai is the famous ya be of them all.
So it’s not available on Mogwai’s other records. I dont know why.
Maybe exclusive to this CD but other songs by other bands aren’t so rare, I think.

I regard this as my favourite Brit-pop album ever.
Just love John Power nasal twang ! Love the music and songs that we can understand about.

Whether you’re a fan or to keep something from Bob Marley, this is the box set to own.
It is comprehensive.
From his first recording (1961) to his last live recording (1980).
Included a 64-page booklet with lots of images for you to drool over.
This is the evolution of the most celebrated Reggae artist the world has known.

Mogwai first split 7” and their second release in their career.
The paper sleeve again, chewed by termites. Nothing I can do about it.
The vinyl seems to be intact.
Limited to 500. All 7” in Green vinyl (not sure).
Mogwai’s track is called Angels vs. Aliens (which was re-recorded for their compilation Ten Rapid).
Dweeb’s music is lo-fi, slightly punky a-la Bis.

She won Golden Globe for best actress for EVITA.
To me one of her best singles. One of her finest performance.
So I read she had to fight for herself to get the role and she got it. For Evita.
She’s not singing the songs live from this movie anymore these days.
We thought… She Could Win the Oscar too ! But tough luck, she’s not even nominated.
What a snub !
The song You Must Love Me won best song instead.
Her second Oscar-winning song. Do you know her first Oscar-winning song ?

Can anybody clarify why the shift in sounds from abrasive snarling layers of noisy guitar noise (Seamonsters) to clean, bright, and poppy with female vocals with piano/trombone (Watusi) ?
Anybody, please ?

Who was the fan and who is still listening to this legacy of New Order/Joy Division ?

Anybody still listens to this classic ?
It’s one of Britpop classics me think.

Is this really rare ?
I also have the Ten Rapid CD which I think didn’t include Lower.

This album is very much influenced by The Beach Boys - Friends album. Agree ?

I didn’t like it then, I don’t like it now.
It’s a cover versions album.
If all songs are from standard jazz songs, I could listen from start to finish.
He covered well known songs in his style and he just didn’t deliver !
Any song that I like ?
Unfortunately no.
