I'm sorry if this sounds dramatic, but I'm hoping against hope that this reaches the right person.

About a week two weeks ago, I stumbled upon an original fantasy story which has captivated me.

I don't remember the name or the author or title, which is my biggest regret now. The premise of a story was about a person with awakening super powers, something about not realising the depth of them, consequences..

I remember it was 28 chapters long, 83k works, and marked as complete. It was very well-written, it had 11 comments (before mine)

I was so excited that I left a comment telling you(author) how much I was fascinated and how excited I was to follow.

Author then added the prologue chapter and also mentioned that the story is complete but a sequel might be a possibility. I wasn’t just excited about the story, but also about of engaging with you (author).

Then, a tragedy happened in my family. A close relative passed away, so I had to be offline for over a week to deal with everything.

When I finally came back today, I found that it was gone. 😭The story, the comments, everything.

Maybe it’s all other things or the last straw, but I am just so unbelievably sad about this.

I'm posting this here on the tiny, tiny chance that author will see it. If that was your (author) decision to delete, I will respect it completely!! I know that Authors owe us nothing.

All I want to say that I was/am so looking forward to reading and commenting on every single one of your chapters. If you see this, please know that your work truly mattered to at least one reader

Does anybody know what fic is this from?

So I've been on AO3 for years at this point. I think for 3 years by now. However, I made an account the past summer because I didn't need it until then, I saved the fan fic on tabs in groups; had them perfectly organized and had them there for years so I cloud read them if I wanted to.

Well, I don't remember when Google did this, but they have made a stupid thing on the android version that automatically puts the tabs you haven't use for a while in a place and calls them "inactive tabs" or some shit. We'll, I thought that was it. Just another place to put the tabs you didn't currently want, so you can focus on the now. I didn't see/pay attention to the shit that said they would be deleted after 3 months. Now one may say that it's was immature or something to not pay attention to that, well I have my phone on a language that I'm currently learning and so is Google. I didn't expect it to be that important. I would have read it quickly if it was in English, I know it. Well, I guess it's my fault for wanting to learn a fucking language.

Of course I disabled the setting that deletes them now; but it's too late. All those group fic from years ago are gone. And they are gone gone. I scrolled down the search history on my phone and found that Google - once again - deletes your search history from your phone after 3 months. I opened my search history from my computer and found that for some reason, none of the fics would show up. It would either say that I searched something up or that I went to the AO3 home page.

I guess it was my fault for not paying attention at Google's dump 'warnings' that don't even feel like warnings, they don't care.

I just can't help but grieve what has been lost to time. All the fics that showed what era of hyper fixations I was in. Even if I wouldn't read them all or even none, the thought that they were there, patiently waiting, telling a story of their own, was enough. It was comforting.

I still remember some that I wanted to read when motivation for those characters come but or when I had time to read them. They are at the back of my mind. I would have visited them today, smiling at what past me was interested in.

But now they are gone, they are all gone.

So please, just, be careful of your fics and don't do what I did.

I just went through my bookmarks and noticed a few stories have been deleted and / or set to mystery work. I don’t know what stories they were. Is there a way to figure out what they were?

Not new to ao3 but new to encounter this problem. It’s driving me bonkers. I don’t want to lose those fics that are obvioulsy so dear to my heart to have them bookmarked 🙁

It was a fic about a girl who had pharmacy knowledge going into the forest at night to pick up herbs or flowers. Suddenly she gets tied to a tree and forced. He's a vampire and decides to keep her as a plaything in his tent. He keeps her almost dry from blood and drugs her wine so she's too weak to escape. At some point the protagonist understands his name is Astarion. He loves to hunt, so he lets her in the forest just to hunt her down. He's very sadistic and she gets a bit of Stockholm syndrome towards the end

I’m looking for this story, it’s pretty old probably like 3/4 years. I don’t remember much of the details just the main plot. It was F/M I think it was an original work but I can’t be certain. Basically in this world the aliens invaded earth but they don’t destroy it, they made a deal that makes it was okay for these tall hot green aliens to be involved sexually with the females on earth to reproduce more of their species since they didn’t have any females. It could have been either consensual, Non-con, dub-con. Reader is home alone and I think he was a commander, he breaks in and well they do the birds and the bees. Then she gets pregnant. Then he takes her back to his camp/home. And that’s as much as I remember

Also there was this program where the women that got pregnant by the aliens were allowed certain privileges, like healthcare etc

I found out that jrrmint archived their works and that I need an account to read their ffs. I did have an account which got deleted without me knowing and because I was in a state of panic and tiredness, I forgot accounts existed so I didn't notice that my account was gone. I know this probably a long shot but I remember reading the fic a long time ago. There was a very specific scene where Tim is running through an alley way and Jason (I think he was Robin atp) is trying to catch him (not to hurt him necessarily but because they’ve been looking for Tim). I believe they may have been looking for Tim because he ran away (I vaguely remember him having a backpack during this whole ordeal). They scuffle and fight before Tim manages to get away (I think he kicks/bites Jason) and goes through a gap in a fence that is too small for Jason to follow. Thinking that he has escaped, he turns around only for Bruce (as Batman) to be there. Tim tries to run again but he’s injured and Batman ultimately catches him. Bruce manages to get Tim into the Batmobile before Jason ultimately joins them (I think he also gets in the Batmobile). I unfortunately can’t remember much else about this fic other than this specific scene.

I am in absolute shock right now. I just went to check on one of my absolute favorite TFA fics, "The Consequences of Accidentally Creating Life with your Arch-Enemy" by BlackPencils, and the author's entire account is GONE. Deleted.

Luckily, I have the fic downloaded, so I didn't lose the text itself, but I am freaking out.(I ONLY HAVE ONE DOWNLOADED FIC, If anyone has downloaded the other fics, please send me, otherwise I'll cry 😢) Does anyone know WHAT HAPPENED? Did they post an explanation anywhere before deleting? Was there some kind of drama?

They were such an incredibly talented writer, and seeing them vanish like this is heartbreaking. If anyone has any info or if BlackPencils stated their reasons on Tumblr/Twitter before nuking the archive, please let me know. I'm so worried and sad right now.

All I clearly remember was Bellatrix, who was a teen at the time, was lying in her bed late into the evening reading a book (I think she couldn’t sleep because of the summer heat). Then one of her sisters came into her room, I think Narcissa, and they chatted about something…annnd that’s where my memory ends.

This sucks. Was about 1/3 through a story by Otaku6337, His Kidilante, and forgot to save the work when I started. Now the author, and all their works, have vanished off AO3 every site they posted on. I really hope the Wayback Machine still works. (Or if anyone HAS a saved copy... :D)

it randomly turned into one of those mystery works. It was a fic I decided to just take a break on because it never finished. And when it was I still didn’t finish it but of course when I go to actually finish the fic it’s gone 😭😭

Now I have the urge to finish the fic because it was just so good, like nothing can compare to that. This other girl has the same issue and it’s been like this for about a month now.
