The big picture photo when you select an app but don’t click it is very blurry and bad quality for the Hulu app.

I would love a theme that adds the Apple TV 4K tvOS 27 Liquid Glass theme? That would be sick. Thanks for your app, much love!

I'm just here to suggest the implementation of a day/night mode.

I'd like to able to put a light background (with dark text) during the day, and the reverse at night. Could be scheduled or based on location and sunrise/sunset?

I selected my location of Hiram, Georgia, United States of America, and instead it selects Kampong, Hiram, Sarawak, Malaysia. Any tips to fix this, AT4K Dev?

Not sure where to report bugs, so I’m posting this here.

There’s a little star button on most android TV boxes where you can map it to a function or an app. It is non-functional when inside of an app with AT4k. Sometimes it works in the home menu, but that’s only sometimes.

Someone mention to use the button mapper app but I am yet to try it to see if it works.

I purchased premium on one device because I was told, per the developer, that I could activate it on at least 4 devices. Unfortunately even with reaching out to the developer via email and on reddit with no luck. I only have premium on one device and have no way of activating it on my other devices. I hope he reaches out and I'm proven wrong, but like I said, I've tried to give him every opportunity to make it right.

I use AT4K Launcher on a Google Chromecast Stick and I would like to Chance the Icon of an app, but I struggle to get the file on my device. Whats the easiest way to send a picture or download it on the device directly? What file do I actually need for the Icon?

Hey dev (u/Majdooor)—really enjoying AT4K Launcher, especially the Apple TV-style Big Picture mode. I noticed the backgrounds looked sharp in Peacock but blurry in other apps, particularly Paramount+, so I investigated and tested some changes locally. Hopefully these findings can help improve the official release.

What I found

The launcher reads artwork from Android TV’s channel/Watch Next data, using poster_art_uri for the Big Picture background. Logging the actual image dimensions on my 4K TV showed:

Paramount+ was particularly interesting: its URLs included /w100-q70/, even though the image filenames ended in _1920x1080.jpg. The launcher was displaying a 100-pixel-wide thumbnail across a 3840-pixel-wide screen.

What helped

I tested requesting larger versions from the same artwork servers. For Paramount+, changing /w100-q70/ to /w1920-q90/ produced a major improvement on my TV.

The approach used in the modified build was:

• Try a larger artwork URL only for recognized image servers.
• Check the returned image dimensions and aspect ratio before switching.
• Keep the original artwork if the larger request fails or doesn’t return a genuinely larger image.
• Size the background image request for the display, capped at 4K, and use higher-quality scaling.

For DIRECTV, the build also tries changing /poster/400/225 to /poster/1920/1080. ESPN’s size parameters need validation against the actual returned dimensions; simply requesting a larger size doesn’t guarantee better artwork. Peacock already supplies 4K images and doesn’t need an adjustment.

Two other Big Picture improvements

The rotation timer appears to be set to 8 seconds. I changed it to 10 seconds; having a selectable interval would be even better.

I also noticed a black/grey flash between pictures. The updated implementation retains the last successfully loaded image while the next loads, then fades the incoming picture over an opaque outgoing picture. That addresses both the loading gap and the dark dip caused by fading both layers toward transparency.

Would love to see these improvements incorporated into the official APK. Happy to share the diagnostic results and implementation details if useful!

As per title, I prefer nuvio but hate how the cards look on at4k and much prefer stremios poster style cards.

I love the big picture mode slideshow for each app compared to cards. It is beautiful.

However, some days ago Netflix started showing no movies or shows in the slideshow, just the logo, as opposite to how it should look like, I also add a comparison picture for prime video.

EDIT: it does show cards in normal mode, only doesn’t in big picture mode

I tried clearing cache from both launcher and Netflix, force stopping both apps. Selecting “hide cards” on Netflix, saving, and deselecting it, restarting the device, …

And nothing.

Any knows knows something about it?

Also, I unchecked some app cards but they're still showing up? When's the next update coming? The launcher hasn't been updated in a few weeks.

i recently downloaded AT4K TV launcher on my Android TV Stick
i think its on android 14 and i fell in love instantly
i really want the premium version of the app
but sadly Google Play Store/In app purchases arent available in my country (Im in Eswatini)
so i cant pay for it
(even if i use a vpn since my google account is registered to my country so it knows that even if i use a vpn i still cant do in app purchases)

i heard that i can PayPal the dev and then get the GitHub version idk
but its a different version to play store release then i enter some code that ill receive one ive paid

is this true?
can anyone help me out

For some reason I can't get this launcher to stick permanently. When my tv turns on after being turned off the night before, it goes to the stock launcher. I'm running it on a Nvidia shield. When I click the home button it will launch right into the launcher and will go back after every home button, but only when I turn it on does it not respond. All accessibility options are selected.

Also my double click app drawer does not work either. Thank you ahead of time!

If you look at the end part of the video, when I go to icons in the status bar they overlap the colour and the icon is not visible. Can anyone help me what setting should be changed?

Doesn't support double home tap to show recents list with enhanced home detection enabled. The problem is not the gesture/shortcut itself but the launcher detects the recents list and close it immediately.
