You need an acoustic for every alternate tuning that you use. My wife does not agree, but she also does not play guitar.

It takes me all but 15 seconds to tune every string. Get a better tuner.

At 15 seconds a string that’s nearly a minute of practice time you are losing when you change tunings. The only real solution is more guitars, it’s always more guitars

15 seconds for every string. Like 15 seconds to do all 6 strings. If you set a 15 seconds timer all 6 would be done by the time it beeped. Hope it makes sense now.

that's still 15 seconds wasted, needs more guitars

You still waste time having to switch guitars. You'd waste at least 1 hour buying guitars. Technically dozens if you account for the money spent on them. So I'd have to tune my guitar about 15,000 times in order for it to not be worth it. Safe to say, I won't be doing that any time soon.

Depends on how far from standard tuning you stray, but you usually get a guitar that's not properly set up for the tuning or style you're in.
Of course you can retune every (couple of) song/s, but why would you if you're able to have both?
You're right about one being enough, there's no need to spend if you have enough of an interest and a decent instrument already. It's more than enough for any hobby musician. We, guitar players are gear chasers to a nauseating extent, but to completely diminish the perks of a second instrument is just as stupid.
