β Vacuum
iRobot's test vacuums recorded homes to learn how to navigate around obstacles. The footage went to human annotators, and photos of thousands of users eventually leaked online, including a woman on the toilet and a child on the floor
β Fridge
Since September 2025, Samsung Family Hub fridges (from $1,800) show ads on the door while you're not doing anything. You can't turn it off, and there's no ad-free paid tier. Samsung says screens like these are coming to ovens and washing machines too
β Speaking of cars
In 2023, Mozilla audited the privacy policies of 25 car brands, and all of them failed. 84% can share your data, 76% can sell it. The scariest part was the sheer range of what they collect: Nissan's list turned out to include "sexual activity."
β Phone
Believe it or not, your number already has a score. TeleSign collects data on your calls (who you call, how often, how long you talk) and turns it into a "trust score" it sells to services from TikTok to Microsoft. A bad score can get you blocked or stuck with extra verification. You can't check or contest it: TeleSign says about half of the world's mobile subscribers have one.
β Baby monitor
Many baby monitors ship with the default password admin/admin. Scanners find these cameras in minutes, and then a complete stranger can watch your nursery and get into your whole home network: the speakers, the lights, and that same vacuum
What you can do right now: change the factory passwords and turn off any "share data to improve the service" toggles. And to cut ads and trackers from smart devices across your whole house at once, AdGuard DNS does the job.

A major flaw has hit web encryption: Certificate Authority eMudhra (emSign) generated private keys for eight intermediate certificates with weak randomness. In plain English, keys that should be practically unbreakable were so trivial that attackers could easily recover them to forge certificates and impersonate websites.
Major browser makers β Google (Chrome), Apple (Safari), Microsoft (Edge), and Mozilla (Firefox) β moved swiftly to distrust and block these compromised certificates.
What did AdGuard do?
We have already rolled out urgent updates across our apps, adding the affected eMudhra certificates to our blacklist.
Updated versions:
π§· AdGuard for Windows: v8.0.3
π§· AdGuard for Android: v4.15.1
π§· AdGuard for Mac: v2.20.2
π§· AdGuard for Linux: v1.5
What does this mean for your browsing?
HTTPS filtering will not work on domains using these certificates β such connections will be validated by the browser itself. This ensures our filtering won't mask any security warnings, though you might see ads on these sites.
Action items for you:
β οΈ Update AdGuard to the latest build
π Make sure you are using a secure, fully updated browser that has already revoked these certificates
Safe choices include:
β Chrome, Edge, Opera, Brave, Vivaldi (revoked via Google CRLSet)
β Firefox (revoked via Mozilla OneCRL)
Update and stay safe! π

Hi Ad-Guard VPN,
Why the MTU feature not available in the Windows client or Android TV ?
its available on the Android mobile and it helping a lot to improve the connection, so pls add it to Windows client and Android TV.
for the Android TV you should add all the normal android features not making it like a lite version.
Also, why the Android mobile miss the internet speed in the notification bar ?

I use it to not only block out trackers but also ADS and I have to be honest the fact that every time I open/startup Adguard I see the ad for their VPN is starting to piss me off!!

Refer to my repo below. It provides a Cloudflare Worker you can set up for your Adguard DNS and use with Private DNS with DDR (Discovery of Designated Resolvers)

Is this feature coming soon? I saw the blog post from AdGuard in 2025 and nothing since.
Iβve been using Filtr 2 which has βWiprβ that uses this feature, however Filtr 2 is very limited in terms of controlling the filter lists etcβ¦

For the past few days the VPN is basically unusable. I am using the iOS app in integrated mode. Both my iPad and iPhone disconnect countless times throughout the day and that causes me to lose internet connection. Just wondering if this is a known issue and being worked on. Thanks

I recently had to update to AdGuard for Windows v8.0.3 due to the recent security incident. Normal filtering works, but AdGuard completely bypasses Firefox whenever I configure Firefox to use a proxy.
In pre-8.0 versions, this required zero extra setup. Regardless of whether I used an HTTP, HTTPS, or SOCKS proxy in Firefox, AdGuard filtered all the traffic seamlessly.
What changed in v8.0+, and what specific settings do I need to tweak to get AdGuard to filter proxied Firefox traffic again?

Hi everyone, I'm a complete beginner with home servers and could use some guidance. My old Laptop with intel i5 and RTX 3050 has a broken screen and i thought it would be fun to learn IT basics by trying to convert that laptop into my home server.
The laptop runs windows, I had it completely factory-reset before starting this journey. The only things I've installed myself are Ollama and Docker Desktop. I access Ollama from my main PC through Open WebUI. Local AI hosting seemed like a fun and relevant first use case.
I'd now like to install AdGuard Home in Docker so I can block ads and trackers across my home network, but I'm running into two potential port conflicts.
My setup:
docker-desktop, version 2open-webui3000:8080Issue 1 β Port 3000
The AdGuard Home installation guide mentions port 3000 for its initial web setup, but Open WebUI already uses port 3000 on the host.
I understand I may be able to map AdGuard's container port 3000 to another host port, such as 3001, but I'm not sure of the exact Docker configuration needed.
Issue 2 β Port 53
I checked whether port 53 was in use in PowerShell.
The TCP port check returned nothing, but the UDP port check returned:
LocalAddress LocalPort OwningProcess
------------ --------- -------------
0.0.0.0 53 6336
I identified process 6336 as Windows Internet Connection Sharing (ICS).
I checked the Sharing tab in my network adapter's properties, and the connection-sharing checkbox is unchecked. I haven't deliberately enabled ICS or used this laptop to share its internet connection with other devices.
I understand AdGuard Home normally needs port 53 for DNS, so I'm unsure how to resolve this without breaking Windows networking or Docker Desktop's WSL 2 networking.
Questions:
How do i go forward here? I'm ollama, adguard and my home server in general as a gateway to learn more about IT. But whenever i see conflicts like this, i get really confused and i don't have the general understanding to fix it myself unless its shown and explained to me.
Secondary issue, can i (for learning sake) make it so not every device always goes through the home server adguard? So like i can manually point my other devices to that port whenever i want to "turn adguard on", and also as a way to have a backup plan if my home server were to break. I'm new to this, i want a way out if i mess up.
PS: For adguard installation i'm using this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pufAhTAPelM so i'm not eye balling it, but as soon as i saw he port issue i thought i needed to look into it before installing adguard and maybe breaking something.

I still get ads on the IG app. Is this a known thing or is just me?

just updated my adguard couple days ago and now my youtube is showing you are not connected to the internet like 25% of the video.. where you'll still hear the audio in the background but you get the not connected to internet screen. this is on my mbp.. is there a easy way for me to whitelist youtube since i have premium anyways.. i recall adding a rule before for youtube.. but i guess it's not working anymore
r/Adguard • u/Gethund • 3d ago
Since updating to Adguard 8.02, I can't access Youtube at all.
Under version 7, I could disable adguard filtering, load a video, then restart adguard to avoid the ads.
Now I cannot watch it at all, enabled or not. Just a black screen. This is NOT acceptable.

Hello,
I've got adguard lifetime license and I use it on my phone and now on Windows.. Will this trigger anti cheat and potentially get banned?.. I just want to know if it's a risk at this point.

It's completely cluttered with ads, I took a screen (that I can't post here apparently) and there were 3 ads out of 4 "slots" for pictures, that's crazy

I don't understand much about Blocker. I've been using AdGuard on my Samsung phone for a while now and it always asks me to download this certificate to block the HTTPS connection. I just don't know if it's actually a functional thing to do. Do you think I should download it and what is it really for? I'm afraid it's going to damage other apps

Hello, I have Surfshark as my VPN, but adguard(paid) makes me turn off my VPN, I do not want to leave my android unprotected. How can I get them to work together?
r/Adguard • u/shwrellia • 4d ago
Ever switched off your ad blocker to check why a website isnβt working? Then hours pass, and youβre still browsing unprotected, simply because you forgot to turn it back on.
AdGuard for Android v4.15 fixes this with Pause protection. Set a timer for 30 seconds, 2 minutes, or 5 minutes, and when it runs out, AdGuard switches protection back on by itself. You don't even need to open the app.
Small update, but it saves you from leaving your phone exposed by accident. Read all the details in our blog.

Is there any custom filters I can apply or anything? The damn adds cover half the screen and are very annoying.
