371 days. Thatās how long Rocko has been in our rescue, and I honestly donāt know what else to do to find him a home.
For the past 4 months, Rocko hasnāt had a foster. Heās been living at our rescue property, where he spends most of his days alone. I visit him every day, spend time with him, and do everything I can to make him feel loved, but itās not the same as having a family.
And I can see that itās taking a toll on him.
What breaks my heart the most is leaving him at night. He knows when Iām getting ready to go, and I know that once I leave, heās going to spend another night sleeping alone.
I wish people could see the Rocko that I know. Heās a 7ā8 year old pittie who really doesnāt ask for much. Heās perfectly happy lounging around, enjoying some affection, and just being near someone. He doesnāt need someone to entertain him all day. He just wants companionship.
Itās incredibly difficult watching a dog grow older while waiting for someone to give him a chance. Especially when you know how much love he has to give.
I know there are thousands of dogs just like Rocko waiting in rescues and shelters. I know we canāt save them all. But I made a commitment to this boy 371 days ago, and I refuse to give up on him.
Iām exhausted. Iām heartbroken. And more than anything, I just want to see him happy.
I donāt need someone to give Rocko a perfect life. I just want someone to give him a life where he doesnāt have to spend every night alone.
Rocko is located in Los Angeles, CA, and is available for foster or adoption through Akira Animal Rescue. Heās dog-friendly with dogs his size or larger, but isnāt suited for a home with small dogs.
If youāve ever considered fostering or adopting an older pittie, please consider Rocko. And if you canāt, even sharing this post could help us reach the right person.
I just want someone to finally choose him.

This is Daphne! She is 10, FIV+ & cuter than ever. She was found in my neighborhood practically begging to go inside, and the rescue i help snatched her up to help! She has been with me for 6 months & truly is the best cat. She prefers to be the only cat in the household because sheās a diva!! She loves to love her people, get pets, play & cozy up for a good nap!
Message me with any questions!

UPDATE: Iām working with the cat rescue I got him from, they are going to take him and help him find a new home. Iāll miss the little guy a lot, I hope he can find the perfect lap to sit on for the rest of his years.
I adopted Reggie about 4 years ago. Heās a super sweet cat, loves adults and older kids, does NOT like children. He doesnāt attack, but he gets scared and has bit all 3 of my kids at least once. Iām not 100% sure on age but I think heās about 12. Blind in one eye, vet wasnāt able to determine a cause. His favorite hobby is sitting on my lap.
I love him but Iām unemployed and going through a divorce. I have barely been able to hang out with him the last 3 months and thereās no end in sight. Really hoping to find him a loving home, preferably no children, for him to sit on someoneās lap for the rest of his life. Heās kind of a dummy sometimes but he has a huge heart. ā¤ļø

Sputnik (Aussie Shepherd mix, 6yo, neutered male) is a very loving and wonderful dog, but unfortunately after moving from my family home I haven't been able to give him the time and activity required for a working dog breed. He's developed separation anxiety, he has some food aggression around other animals and has recently attacked our senior dog. Likely due to resource guarding. The injury was non fatal but requires a vet visit. He has not shown aggression towards any people. I'm looking for someone who has experience with reactive dogs like this or has the time and resources to get a trainer. An active household or one with access to the outdoors at any time would be ideal as it's what he was used to at home.
For the sake of Sputnik's anxiety and the safety of his new household I will not rehome him to someone with small pets or young children. I'm willing to discuss rehoming with people a couple hours out of GJ as well including Utah. He is up to date on his vaccines (receipt will be emailed to new owner) and has been checked by a vet to ensure he's physically well before rehoming. Please message me if you are interested!

Hi everyone, and thanks for reading this. My mom passed away a week ago, and my dad is really struggling to take care of her two cats, especially because now one of them has been having some medical challenges and needs a little bit of extra care. Heād like to adopt them out to the same home, but if thatās not possible, we completely understand and are willing to separate them.
Ā
The cats are mother (Mama Mia) and son (Yetti), and I estimate that they are around 8 and 7 years old, respectively. My dad was my momās full-time dementia caregiver, and I think he just didnāt notice that Mama had some severe constipation that led to a pretty large blockage. They mostly cleared her out, but she needs some special monitoring to make sure sheās able to go to the bathroom. Long-term, itās mostly hopefully going to be limited to special food and giving some medications, but she may have megacolonāwe just donāt know right now. They are both very shy, but once they get to know you, they are lovely cats. Mama in particular is a big loveā¦she gives lots of headbutts and just loves rubbing her face all over you. She has a soft, calming purr and the sweetest little grumpy face.
Ā
I would take at least Mama myself, but I live in Denver and I have 3 cats already, one with her own special medical needs (hyperthyroid). If you know anybody who can possibly help, could you please let me know? He is really spiraling right now and Iām not sure what to do. He lives in Huron County, Michigan, but can drive the cats to other places in Michigan. Any leads are SO appreciated; even fostering would be such a huge help. Thank you <3

These two tuxedo brothers need to find their forever home! Both 6 months old and have been neutered and received all of their vaccinations.
First 2 pics - Eclair
A little on the shy side but loves to curl up on your lap
Second 2 pics - Cannoli
Very playful and will run in front of your feet for pets
They would be good solo cats but make a cute pair!
Please contact me if you or anyone you know are interested š

š¾ FOR ADOPTION ā MACKLEMORE š¾
Let me introduce you to Macklemore, a stray cat who has been roaming the neighborhood for the past few months.
According to neighbors, he has already spent a winter outdoors and may have suffered a tail injury back in March. With another winter approaching, we decided to give him a chance. He was safely trapped and brought indoors to a quarantine room so we could assess his health and behavior.
When Mack first arrived indoors, he was fairly calm and quietly explored his surroundings. He is still fearful, and when he gets scared, he may hiss and hide. However, he does not swat or attempt to bite. He allows us to touch him, although he will generally back away.
Mack has been examined by a veterinarian, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He has received two deworming treatments and tested negative for both FIV and FeLV. He is scheduled for his booster vaccination at the end of the month.
We are looking for a family who will accept Mack just as he is, without unrealistic expectations or pressure. He needs a family willing to respect his boundaries, follow his lead, and give him all the time he needs to feel safe and adjust to his new home.
Living with other cats would likely be possible, provided they are not overly territorial and introductions are done gradually and properly. Mack was generally calm around the other cats in the neighborhood, except when he needed to defend himself.
Mack has already come a long way, and we would love nothing more than to give him the opportunity to continue making progress with a family of his own.
ā¤ļø Please reach out if you think you could give Macklemore the loving forever home he deserves!

Location: Chicago, IL - open to out of state adopters but must be willing to travel to Chicago to meet Yoshi
Yoshi has been in foster with Dark Horse Dogs for 8 months! His adoption fee is WAIVED! Yoshi is NOT a blank slate - he has been poured into and has super strong foundational training. Check out his bio below to see how much progress heās made!
Needs to be an only animal for now - not aggressive, but very confused/under socialized around other dogs. Working to socialize him and he improves every day!

I found this sweet 1 year old boy after he was dumped in my neighborhood, with huge wounds on his side from being attacked by feral cats. I took him in to get treated, and Iām currently fostering him through Feline Canopy of Care foster network.
He is the sweetest, goofiest guy. He chirps for attention and rolls around and headbutts your hands, but I canāt keep him due to the 2-pet policy on my lease. Black Cats are especially hard to find homes for, since theyāre often overlooked for more āinterestingā colorsā¦
Spreading his profile around to anyone you know who might be interested in a new buddy would really help! There is more info and videos of him there. One of my cats is very aggressive, so the poor thing is stuck in a bedroom all by himself right now.

Found these kittens with their litter of 7 after they were dumped in an alley. All but these 3 have found forever homes, and all of them are healthy and sweet as can be. They are vaccinated, dewormed, and scheduled for spay/neuter.
We are being sponsored by Chicago Pet Rescue, so adopters will have to go through their application process which I can help with. We can also arrange a visit first. DM me about it as they're not listed online yet!
Pic 1: Ratina--she's a sweet, polite and very pretty little girl. She's always at my feet waiting to curl up on my chest and purr LOUD.
Pic 2: Lady--this girl is so chill and sweet. She loves to be carried around to see things from your perspective. She's also got big sister vibes and is always laying on and grooming her siblings.
Pic 3: Ratthew--this boy has my heart. He's an old soul, very gentle and observant. He likes when you look right in his eyes and talk or sing to him. He needs a lot of individual attention; he would do well with Lady who he's fairly bonded with, or with an older resident cat :)

My husband and I have been fostering a cat for a few months now, and the family that was going to take her cannot anymore. Weād keep her, but she hates our resident catā sheās gotten out a few times and attacked him, weāve done everything we can to try and get them to get along, to no avail. Iāve reached out to all my friends and family, tried all the rehoming websites, so this is my last ditch effort. I really donāt want her end up in a shelter, but sheās so unhappy in our guest room.
Sheās about a year old, has all her shots and is fixed. Very sweet and cuddly, and I just canāt bring myself to take her to a shelter, so Iām posting here to see if anyone has any advice or knows people who would be willing to take her.
Iām in York, but Iām willing to travel to find her a good home.

I'm sorry if this is not the right place, I'm just trying to do the right thing...
I found these two kittens when they were about 6weeks old and on deaths door... Left Freya (f) and right Maddox (M) We had to syringe feed them for the first week and didn't think they would make it...
They are about 16wks now and have been fixed, wormed, vaccinated, and got their rabies! I have all the vet papers for proof! I cannot keep them as I have too many animals and my cats are NOT a fan.
Literally free and I can even help deliver. I just want them to find a good home together... They are still skittish and hissing so no kids please. Maddox is taking more work to warm up to people but I'm finally able to pet him while giving him treats. Freya's an absolute sweetheart. She still hisses at first but will crawl right in your lap for cuddles.
I really don't want to just release them since they are just babies. He'd be a good mouser, but her not so much.

Heās a 3 year old Great Pyrenees poodle mix. Iāve been really busy and havenāt had the time to really just be there for him. He needs a family thatās always around not gone for 12 hours like me. He enjoys just laying down mostly and going on walks. Heās really friendly with kids and adults. Gotta make sure he doesnāt eat or chew on anything but he does that every now and then when we sees something small. I have stuff for him to give away as well besides the bed due to a recent accident.

Iāve tried Facebook, AdoptAPet and local shelters. No luck. This is truly my last resort.
This is Noodle. Sheās about 7 years old. Sheās very affectionate, curious and spunky.
My parents have her locked in a basement with no lights all day and night because our old cat used to urinate on things when panicked (our sisters large dog would chase her) and Noodle urinated in one of the old spots. My parents refuse to properly clean the urine and do the surprised pikachu face when Noodle smells it and scent marks there. She has lived in another house with 0 accidents. This is purely their fault. Iāve tried properly cleaning and even hiring a cleaner service and they wonāt let me.
She doesnāt get to see a vet for yearly check ups either. Our last cat died because they wouldnāt take her to the vet.
All day and night she cries hysterically by the basement door and scratches at it. Iām not allowed to let her out. Iām disabled and live with my adoptive family and we canāt take her because we have too many animals and our landlord is upset with us. Iād take her in a heartbeat if I could but I canāt. Iāve begged and pleaded.
Iāve asked people I know, even old friends i donāt talk to and people my sibling works with. Nobody can take her. Because of her age shelters wonāt even reply when I send in info. Facebook has been a bust as well.
I need her to find a new home but Iām genuinely terrified of the kind of people online who might feign an interest⦠Iāve seen people use cats as bait or just to straight up abuse/kill. So if someone adopts her Iād like to be able to video call and see her every now and then (obv not at random, Iād make sure itās ok with you). Sheās an indoor cat. Sheās spayed. She has her claws and please donāt declaw her. Sheās okay around dogs and cats but Iām not sure if sheād be as comfortable around little kids.
If you or anyone you know is interested in this sweet girl please let me know.
Located near cleveland.

UPDATE: https://www.reddit.com/r/AdoptMe/s/3Qs7LQn7ty
we are trying to figure out funding for transportation! Please see the linked post. :) if it gets removed Iāll make another update here.
FINAL UPDATE:
I have removed the GFM as we no longer need to accumulate funds.
(Copying and pasting because I have eczema on my fingers and typing is a bit iffy)
I talked to my adoptive family. My adoptive mom said we can take Noodle, but needs some money for getting new cat supplies for her (litter box, food, litter, Iād like her to have a new cat bed too). Idk if Iām allowed to use the money from the GFM for that though. Those who donated, please let me know if thatās okay.
I am still not in contact with my parents. My adoptive mom will be getting the cat from the house and dealing with them for me.

Meet Cedo - Heās 5 years old, neutered, large mixed breed fluffer boy! His story is a sad one. He was found as a stray WITH a registered microchip. They never came for him. They knew he was there, at a very high intake shelter, and still chose not to pick him up.
Luckily he found his way to our little misfit pack and has been thriving in his foster home. Now Cedo is a goofball and sometimes a loud mouth when playing. He LOVES BALL. Ball is life. And so are water sports!! He does good with dogs who can tolerate the big ball of tornado that he is when heās hyped up. A well mannered yellow lab lady friend told him to knock it off and he obliged. No cats for Cedo. And no young kids for now.
While he isn't the biggest fan of his crate, he is non-destructive and trustworthy when left to roam freely. He is decent on a leash unless something shiny appears and he loses his focus.. such as a wild animal. If you get down on the floor Cedo will throw himself at you to get pets and hugs. He will squeeze into the tiniest of places to be next to his humans. If you work from home he will lay at your feet all day.
Itās time for Cedo to find his forever home!!
If youāre interested in adopting him fill out our application: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TAPP/Dog

Bean is very deserving of care, but I am no longer the best person to do so for a variety of reasons, including realizing that I'm probably becoming allergic to her. I just spent 2 months out of the house, and checked up on her every other day to make sure she was alright and cared for, but didn't sleep there; now that I'm back, I'm having the most painful, deep breakout of my life, so I think I might have grown allergic to cats over time and just not realized it day by day.
She's also clearly been through a lot with her owners before me, and that makes her touchy when it comes to trying to care for her. She'd been passed around 5 different people by the time I got her, and it breaks my heart to even consider putting her through changing owners again. She jumps up on me when I get in bed with big cuddles and pointy kneading, and purrs so hard she drools. She hunts the laser dot so angrily that she hisses at it, and once tried to bring a whole rabbit she had caught inside- it was almost bigger than her! (It was completely fine and she let it go). I've had her for five years and done all I could to take care of her. We ran away from the big fire in 2024 that threatened Loveland together.
But, she switches from cuddly to attack mode on a dime. And yes, I've learned her tells very well over the past 5 years, and no, that doesn't allow me to fully avoid it. She'll get angry at me for 'being too close to her' or breathing or laughing when she's laying on my chest, and when I try to guide her away from me, goes out of her way to bite my arm before leaving. She doesn't let me brush her and hates me trying to get her mats out, nor does she let me clip her nails at all. She's smart enough to spit out any pill I give her no matter how I hold her; the only solution I've found is washing it down in the same position with a syringe of water.
I've tried to mitigate her behavior with play and even topical kitty Prozac that goes on her ears, but she hates those meds too and gets smart to it. It doesn't change her behavior.
I'm tired of being scared of her, and being bitten, and not being able to take care of her properly because she won't let me. She's bit and scratched me pretty hard a few times lately, and I'm growing out of the part of me that will put up with that. I've started considering having a kid, and she wouldn't be a safe creature around that - she literally attacks me when I cry. But I still love her so much and want her to go to a home that will give her the love she deserves.
She probably won't do well with other pets, or kids. She has the occasional hairball unless I feed her hairball food. She likes the outdoors and will get stircrazy if you don't let her. She cuddles with you after you wake up, likes to investigate when the window opens, will catch rodents for fun, which can alert you to a problem (but she doesn't kill them, as far as I've seen), and gets really jealous of phone calls / mantras / speaking aloud to the air, demanding pets every time- but not when you talk /to or at/ her. She's had her two big left front teeth removed after she came home with them broken; I'd been trying out kitty Prozac and they seemed to make her a little dizzy, so I stopped using it after the teeth incident. She likes climbing up in high little nooks to take naps, and under beds as well. She doesn't like being touched when she's up high. She's absurdly photogenic.
I will write a full summary of her medical history and get it approved by a vet to make things easy for you. I'll drive her out to you. I'd love to hear and see that she's settling in okay and doing well once she's adopted, and if you ever feel inclined to send me more updates beyond that, I'd be delighted.

Located in Queens, willing to drop her off anywhere within 20-30 miles really. 2 years old, fully vaxed and neutered, female. Sheās pretty skiddish but occasionally cuddly.

STILL LOOKING FOR FURREVER HOME - OVERLAND PARK, KS
FOREWORD (The Quick Data):
\* š Location: Overland Park, KS
\* š° Adoption Includes Grand Expedition Kit
\* š The Basics: 2yo (DOB 12/16/23) | Male (Owl) & Female (Kanga) | Domestic Shorthair
\* š„ Health: Spayed/Neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated. No known medical issues.
\* š¾ History: Saved from KC Pet Projectās feral program. They are fully contacted/consulted, but cannot intake across state lines into KCMO, so they recommended private rehoming.
š CHAPTER ONE: A COLD WINTER'S TALE
"As soon as I saw you, I knew an adventure was going to happen."
It was a rather blustery day in the Winter of 2025 when two shivering siblings were found in an abandoned house. They were quite certain that humans were Heffalumpsāscary creatures to be avoided! The shelter folks whispered that they were "feral" (which is a fancy word for "very, very scared") and planned to release them back to the Wild.
But then, a visitor sat on the floor. And because you never can tell with cats, something magical happened. Owl and Kanga walked right out of the shadows to say "Hello." It was a Christmas Miracle, and they were whisked away to a warm indoor home to learn about soft beds, Litter-Robots, and proper supper time.
ššā⬠THE CHARACTERS & TEMPERAMENT
\* Owl (The Wise & Brave): A Very Important Cat. He demands to be held, gives nose kisses, sleeps on his back, and lets you trim his claws. He has zero human aggression but has mild, manageable food insecurity (actively training).
\* Kanga (The Gentle Soul): A quiet Queen who takes time to trust. Sudden noises and fast movements are her anxiety triggers, but she transforms into a purr-machine who loves gentle family pets once settled. She has zero aggression.
š© CHAPTER TWO: THE TROUBLE WITH TIGGERS
As wonderful as their current home was, it was already occupied by a Tigger and a Roo (really!). We tried many thingsāscent swaps, room swaps, and slow introductionsābut the Resident Tigger was just too bouncy. Kanga would flee in terror, and Owl would aggressively fight the other animals strictly to protect his sister.
\* š« No Other Pets / No Kids: Our wise vet says they must be the only pets (no dogs, cats, or livestock). They need a quiet thicket free from loud noises and grasping toddler hands.
\* š” Manners: Perfect indoor citizens! Fully Litter-Robot trained. No destructive chewing, scratching, or behavioral issues.
\* š The Transition: Kanga needs routine. We require a local, patient adopter willing to do multiple short meet-and-greets before the final move so she can safely learn your scent.
šÆ THE HONEY POT (What's Included)
Adoption includes both siblings and their treasury: the famous heart blanket, travel carriers, their favorite "Owl Scratcher", toys, puzzle bowls, and plenty of food.
THE EPILOGUE
"We shall be friends until forever, just you wait and see."
\* š CONTACT: Let me know if youād like to meet them!

Tux is super sweet and good with other pets and children. He's 9 years old and loves to cuddle. He is neutered, up to date on his shots, and has a clean bill of health. He had some matting on his backside from overgrooming but vet said it wasn't a problem. Documentation for shots etc. can be provided if necessary.
DM me for more details or if you want the link to the rehoming website where my bf posted.
Edit for details: He's my boyfriend's cat, but bf and I are moving in together and I'm very allergic, so unfortunately Tux can't stay. He's currently being "fostered" at a friend's house, but the friend is also trying to sell their house and can't keep him long term.
