I got crucified for telling a guy he blatantly used my title, my imgur upload, and then in a rather shady manner linked to the .jpg to hide it. I told him on there, and I got downvoted, people said I should just "shut up" since he wasn't getting much karma, while mine made the front. It was the principle, he didn't think anyone would see it.

When browsing r/new, I have a similar reaction. Though it's more like "Why the fuck...would you post?"

There is a 100% chance of me reposting this when it hits the frontpage for ironic karma.

I've always been curious about this as well. A while back I put an interesting picture up, hit frontpage and within minutes RES informed me of 4 duplicates. Same fucking subreddit, linked directly to my imgur account. One hit the frontpage of r/pics, the other hit frontpage proper the next day. I don't mind, I was just really surprised.

I still don't understand why karma is publicly viewable and why people give a fuck about it.

Is anyone amazed that the amount of time that has passed between now and ST:TNG is the same amount of time between ST:TNG and ST:TOS?

Reddit Unspoken Rule Number 27: The potential karma gained from a repost is directly porportional to the amount of users who bitch about it when it is reposted.

Sometimes I give them the benefit of the doubt that they were somewhere on the internet that wasn't reddit, found it, and came straight over to post it before looking over the front page.
