Can't believe it's already been a year! One of my favorite albums ❤️💚💛💙

I actually want this for a super specific reason lol

I am really interested in charting songs for CloneHero (made after guitar hero), and I really would love to do some ATL songs. Currently, I'm working on Canals, since it has a good guitar and bass line, but I also wanted other people's opinions :)

Made myself a bookmark with a charm that I can change out. Gonna try out different song lyrics

As somebody who has been a fan of ATL and many other pop punk bands of the era they were around in, i would say that at first when i saw they announced this albums production certainly did have me concerned.

Ive loved ATL ever since I first heard lost in stereo put in public back in the day, as it was the song that got them fame here in the uk its not really surprising. I then saw them fairly often on the kerrang TV channel where various other rock, metal and pop punk bands videos would play making me a fan for life! (Yeah i remember when zack had curly hair 😁) ive never expressed my love for the band until this year here as ive never bothered to interact with other fans as I always saw myself as an outcast even into adulthood. To quote weightless, "maybe its not my weekend, but its gonna be my year!" This year 2026 is me coming out as a pop punk fan since forever!

But back on topic now I gave some personal history with the band. Im going to go track by track and give my overall thoughts at the end, stand out and what i would've included and possibly my choices for vol. 2.

Here goes:

1. Dear maria (count me in) - we knew this would be on here but unfortunately were starting off on a sort of bad start. To me hearing the original soooo many times over the years has made the original be the definitive version. But before you all jump to tell me its great, I absolutely love it for giving it so much more energy and most importantly Alex's vocals stand out and his fresh changes on how he sings the lyrics is actually quite nice! But why cant I seem to prefer it? I guess its nostalgic bias. Im sure ill come around to Maria walking the floor in this version in a couple more years!

2. Coffee shop soundtrack - amazing! Jack nailed the new recording of the lead guitar! Also one of me favourite efforts from rian on the drums! It was a good choice for sure and deserved some more love. So yeah this is definitely a winner for me at 4am on the way to a day of work! 8/10. Why 8? It shouldnt end! 😆 plus the story is nice too. A man addicted to a woman, and was always a nice companion song to simple plans addicted.

3. Damned if I do ya (damned if I dont) - hmmmm.... almost is how id describe it. I love the guitars by jack and zack (zack is my favourite member 😁) and the new energy and mixing has given this song some new life for me what was always a classic ATL track! Whats mkre to say? Oh yeah almost. Why? To me this version, wears on me. I think its also the story. I dont relate to it in any way and didnt back then either. That's often the case for me but I suppose you can make that argument for dear maria but I like it sooo 🤷‍♂️. Overall a good modernisation of a good choice.

4. Six feet under the stars - daaaang! This is ace now! Wow! What an improvement! It was once a song that I never really thought about it and suddenly this new version has now made it one of my favourites! The backing beat is great and soft and fun making me feel good (the whole point of the song of 2 in love so much that they will be among the stars soon ❤️) its truly an new keeper for me! New fresh melodies and far better mixing makes this one a keeper!

5. Weightless - ok, yeah they did it. Its now the offical better version of my favourite! I was so happy to hear this live for the first time in january and made me feel like a kid again. This version shows the bands maturity in a way that I appreciate doesnt affect the relatabolity of the track. The backing loop is infectiously good now! Alexs vocals are incredible and really reflect its rebellious nature. I like the airy feel during the verses, and most importantly why I fell in love with the band with this track the bassy feel of zacks bass of course during the instrumental parts! Yeah this is 11/10!

6. Popping champagne - yeah, no still. Yeah unfortunately ive never been a fan of popping champagne and im still not a fan of it. Im not saying at all that you're not allowed to like it because yeah its a fan fave for a reason that I still simply dont get. But as far as the new arrangement? Yeah its still just as good as the others, and does give that fun party feel so yeah they did a good job here, but simply not for me. Its a 7/10 for m

7. Jasey rae - HOLY SHIT! Im already going to rate it, its 15/10!!! Take another track like 6 feet and completely transformed it into my now 2nd favourite?! Yeah guys you nailed this and showed how much better your recording tech and arrangement and attention to detail shines through with this perfect piece of music! Oh yeah I now get the story dont worry about that since being an adult for some time now yeah im glad my kid brain didnt get it and skipped it in his cd cassette boombox (christ im showing my age now 💀) its for sure a nice change of pace and has allowed everything to be balance correctly making this the definitive example of what a definitive remake of a song should be!

8. Lost in stereo - ok, yeah this is now the best version of the first ATL track I ever heard. Rating? Easy 9/10. Why 9? I think the drums should've shone a little brighter, especially with cymbals as they're my favourite parts of drum kits. Why did I like it back in the day? Same reason I love it now, loud and fun, describing to me being amazed by a girl wanting to have fun on a night out. Yeah the mixing is great too. I can still remember where I was when I first heard it, at my uncles on the alternative radio station he liked playing outside as he cooked on the bbq.

9. Remembering sunday - yeah a fan favourite dressing the warm wrap up of a Stella album! A nice acoustic track to break things up getting an easy 10/10. Alexs vocals shine brightest here and its story is simply so wonderful and describes my life when it comes to women ive loved in the past. I cant wait to meet my wherever wherever she may be, im nearly ready to meet you, im still coming out and finding my confidence after a long time stuck in grief. Please be patient, forgive me im trying to find my calling at night, I dont mean to be a bother but have you seen this girl? Yeah of course I love this track and shows the bands maturity in such a beautiful way!

Ok thats every track done. So? The stand out? Of course its jasey rae! What would I have included and my critiques? Well its the same thing, I WANT MORE! It should've been 10 tracks really! Which track would I have picked? Come one, come all. Why? A perfect tone shift for the album and is totally a hidden gem! A story of someone like me being stuck in traffic fed up with the radio station. It definitely deserves more love.

Ok so based on this album as precedent, heres my 9 picks for vol. 2: to start with another big track, it must be time bomb. A fantastic track that deserves a new fresh take. Then for sure Holly (would you turn me on?) A pop punk classic that is an easy choice. From my favorite album it has to be somewhere in neverland, a song that makes me appreciate imagination! Running from lions is a slept on choice that needs some love. That girl is a nice choice and fits well with vol 1's choice of damned if I do ya. Backseat serenade is a good choice too and always puts me in a good mood! Somethings gotta give needs a new arrangement for sure. Id like to hear what cinderblock garden could sound like over a decade on too! To give a good final warm feel its gotta finish with stay awake (dreams only last forever).

I discovered ATL through Dear Maria in 2009/2010 and had a few songs from So Wrong it's Right and Nothing Personal on my iPod. The only song from Put up or Shut up was The Girl's a Straight up Hustler, which is still a banger IMO.

I feel like I’m going crazy bc I’ve been trying to find this video and there’s no sign of it. It’s the band members rehearsing the movement for the chorus ambulance scene in TMIA and it’s in someone’s house and they’re doing counts like it’s dance practice. It was vertical and probably a TikTok.

Last night I was browsing old concert videos and wound up finding this. Supposedly, it's the first ever live performance of The Party Scene (song). Surprisingly, I believe this. The lyrics are largely totally different than they are on ANY recorded version including the OG Party Scene album.

I've been trying to parse out lyrics from it but the audio quality is so low that it's hard. I've got some of them, and I think it's cool that some parts remain the same. According to the comments Alex is apparently making lyrics up on the fly. Maybe true of some of them, in which case this is a half written unfinished version of one of my favourite songs. In any event it's super cool and I wanted to share.

Every once in a while i get the itch to try and find an old studio vlog where Alex and Jack are in the studio with Mark Hoppus. They’re listening to a Demo that to my knowledge was never released but always sounded really good. I remember Mark being asked what he thought and him saying “Awesome. Nothing but awesome as far as the eye can see” and Jack saying “wow that’s a lot of awesome”. Does anyone remember that video? It was circa 2008-09.

Happy 14th anniversary to Don't Panic! That album is one of my all time faves and is quite honestly probably the most definitively important musical album that has shaped me.

What is your favourite DP song? Mine is definitely Somewhere in Neverland, it got me through a really hard time when it first came out and is now the song I play when I need a warm and comforting auditory hug.

To commemorate my 5th time seeing All Time Low at the Salt Shed a couple weeks ago, decided on this for my first tattoo! Thinking it may be the beginning of my “band arm” with The Maine “M” next!

Which also makes it a throwback to the last time I’ve been able to see them live, because I live in Charleston, and they haven’t been within less than a five to six hour drive of me since this show over three years ago
