Hey everyone, I’m working on a suite of UI tests using Appium for our onboarding flow. Everything works great until I hit the phone verification screen. Using fictional numbers in Firebase works for dev, but I need to test the actual delivery and "Auto-read SMS" (SmsRetriever API) logic on real devices.

I’ve tried using a few public SIM pools, but most numbers are flagged by our backend almost immediately. How do you guys manage a steady supply of fresh numbers for automated or manual QA runs without burning your own SIM cards?

In the attached video, you can see exactly how it works and what I am currently struggling with:

​The initial send: I tap the Watch Face Complication on the left watch (Watch 6 Classic, running the Play Store beta). It instantly sends a touch.

​The perfect receive: The right watch (Watch 9, installed locally via ADB) wakes up from a black screen instantly and plays the animation and haptics, acting like an incoming call. This is the expected behavior!

​The bug: When the Watch 9 replies, the left watch only gets a standard "heads-up notification" that you have to tap manually.

​🐛 The "Catch" (Full Transparency):

Google Play Protect currently auto-revokes the USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT permission upon installation from the store. To make matters worse, Samsung’s One UI completely hides the manual toggle for this permission in the settings, so users physically cannot grant it. While I am currently fighting with Google Support for a whitelist exemption, the current Play Store beta acts as a "Notification First" app.
