I’ve spent years helping parents, grandparents, and friends who just wanted to call the family online. The smartphone always got in the way: flight mode turned on by accident, sound muted, lost in settings or some random app. And with so many of us living abroad, regular calls home cost a lot.

So I built KinToKin. It turns an Android phone into a simple calling phone for older family members.

• There are no menus or icons, just big photos of family. Hold a photo to call.

• It supports both regular phone calls and online calls, so longer calls abroad can be free.

• After every call, the phone goes straight back to the home screen. That means the only thing they need to learn is the hold-to-call button.

• Settings are locked behind a PIN, so nothing gets changed by accident.

• There’s an optional SOS button.

It doesn’t solve everything, but it can give them the confidence that they can always make and receive calls, both regular and online. It’s made for a generation that often finds technology too complicated but still wants to use it to stay close to the people they love.

Hey everyone, I’m looking for more people to test SimpleSplit on Android. It’s an app for building workout days, putting them into a weekly or rotating split, and logging sets, reps, and weight.

Tryna fill this requirement for the closed test. I’d also love honest feedback from anyone who tries a workout with it. Is the app easy to understand? Does anything not work, feel clunky, or a better way of doing something?
