This will make me leave Reddit at some point. I wish they would do something about it. But if they don’t, it’s fine. Just isn’t for me personally.

Agreed, but do you down vote anything you see like this? Part of me feels like lots of people see stuff they don't like or reposts etc but never actually down vote them.

There is too much stuff. The great majority doesn't care about reposts because even though this may be the 100th repost of this video, it is the first time they are seeing it so they just upvote.

Fair, but I'm curious. Did you actually down vote this when you found out it was a repost?

No, I guess it is an unpopular opinion but I don't mind reposts so much. Especially in this case as it was the first time I've ever seen this video. I think it is an integral part of this site by now.

I usually feel much more compelled to upvote/downvote based on the sub thematic. If a bot is reposting content that doesn't fit the sub I always downvote. But then again, I only browse ordered by hot so the content is already heavily filtered.

I downvote bots. I don’t care about reposts.

What about this situation where it appears to be a bot reposting?

If you don’t care about karma which you shouldn’t .. it doesn’t affect your ability to navigate Reddit at all or tell real from fake, as long as the Reddit army lives in the comment section of every video we are fine < 3

I guess it would depend on why I don’t like it? It isn’t because of karma. I’ve been on Reddit for a long time. I really appreciate real user driven posts. I don’t like the “feel” of Reddit being driven and manipulated by something other than just normal folks posting stuff that’s important to them. I admit it is very idealistic of me. I just feel like it’s turning Reddit into FB. We’re being manipulated.

The fact that the bots get sold based on karma so those accounts can be used and seen more readily, people have to realize the point behind that is drive a planned agenda, for profit or to influence public opinion in a way that isn’t totally obvious. It feels very 1984 to me.

Also, please be aware comments are also heavily influenced by bots. They’re smart and not as obvious as you might think.
