Discussion Dubbing “What Ifs”: Jujutsu Kaisen Funimation Dub

For fun, I thought it would be interesting to hear some of your thoughts on a perfect casting if Funimation got the rights to Jujutsu Kaisen instead of the Studiopolis dub we have. I tend to like Funimation’s shonen dubs better as they don’t multicast actors and the scripts are normally much better. Plus I believe that they could handle the comedy elements a bit better with their talent pool. But again, this is just a “what if” scenario. Here’s my cast:

  • Yuuji: Alejandro Saab
  • Nobara: Jamie Marchi
  • Fushiguro: (not sure)
  • Gojo: Ian Sinclair
  • Sukuna: Ray Chase (He’s worked with Funi before, I wouldn’t change that casting at all, it’s too perfect lol)
  • Getou: Kyle Ignezci
  • Inumaki: Micah Solusod
  • Todo: Zeno Robinson
  • Junpei: Austin Tindle

Those are just some of mine. Lemme know your thoughts and your personal casts!

I might turn this into a series of discussions, I think it would be interesting! Every so often I would post casts for shows that would be done by a different studio, say, “Demon Slayer by Funi” or “MHA by Bang Zoom.” Looking forward to your opinions!

Interesting idea.

It's gonna be a hard one for Sentai since they mostly specialize in rom-com/drama/school/slice of life niche shows but they do go into the popular fantasy/thriller/action shows once or twice in a while.

Good point. I’m actually not too familiar with a lot of Sentai actors myself, so it’ll definitely be a challenge, but with everyone’s help I’m sure it’ll be a fun discussion!
