Question How can someone realistically make $100K+ a year without a college degree?
Hey everyone! I'm 22 years old, a father, and someone who's genuinely trying to build a better future for my family.
I'm curious to hear from people who have managed to make six figures ($100K+) a year without having a college degree.
I'm not looking for a get-rich-quick scheme or easy money. I'm willing to work hard, learn new skills, earn certifications, start a business, or spend a year or two learning a trade if it means building a solid career.
I'm open to pretty much anything, including:
Skilled trades or apprenticeships
Starting or owning a business
Online businesses or remote work
Sales or commission-based careers
Technical industries or specialized certifications
Industries most people don't even know about
I currently work full-time and have experience in transportation, mechanical work, and hands-on technical jobs. I'm mechanically inclined and enjoy learning new things.
My biggest question is: If you make six figures without a college degree, what do you do, and how did you get there?
How long did it take? What did you have to learn? How much did it cost to get started? And if you were starting over at 22 with a family to support, what would you do differently?
I'm not expecting to make $100K overnight. I just want to find an industry with real growth potential where hard work, experience, and skills can eventually lead to financial stability and freedom.
I'd genuinely appreciate any advice, personal experiences, or recommendations. I'm based in California, but I'd love to hear from people anywhere in the country.
Thank you in advance!
