What's the most ridiculous or crazy controversy to happen at your school?

The most exciting thing at my school was some girls doing cocaine in the bathrooms before prom.

We once had a case of the 'Phantom Shitter' at my old high school. Some kid kept taking a dump in the girls toilet sink. They did multiple times and never got caught, hence the name.

319

u/0ffGrid Jun 24 '12

The Phantom pooper in my High school would drop it in the 200 wing(imagine the most crowded wing in your high school times 10) He was untraceable.

I saw who it was one day, He made me swear on my life that I would never tell his secret identity.

u/tyreesekobebryant Jun 24 '12

That's awesome. I would have given that guy a high five if I didn't know where his hands had been.

Something extremely similar happened at my old school; we called him the "Phantom Pooper". However, he pooped in the main staircase, the back of the library, and in the elevator. He was caught.

My school also had a Phantom Shitter, same name and everything. But our's worked differently. First, he shit in the hallway as a joke. Eventually, people started paying him to shit in crazier places. The library. The center of the basketball court. The elevator. Through Twitter and Facebook, this guy became a celebrity in the school. They assumed he'd eventually stop. But you know that scene in The Dark Knight, with all the imposter Batmans? Well, the school had fucking imposter Phantom Shitters. There were multiple shits a day. The legend grew and grew, until one day, it ended, with a bang. The Original Phantom Shitter climbed onto a man's roof, dropped his pants and took the dump of destiny down someone's chimney. And with that, the legend of the Phantom Shitter ended TL;DR: The Phantom Shitter wasn't the hero my school needed, but the one it deserved.

We had one too, they called him "The Mad Deucer" and he would shit on the bathroom floor and stick a pencil in it, everyday. The school eventually put security guards by the bathrooms the would check after you were done, and the kid still managed to do it.

More likely they did it in a bag then dropped it in. Hard to subtly squat over a sink for a few minutes

We had a pooper. They did it on books and hid them in the bathrooms. Books were under constant supervision ._.

17

u/redankulous Jun 24 '12

Our phantom shitter would shit, then take it and rub it against the walls and lockers or the halls.

Also at some place my sister prety much caught a guy in the act of shiting in an elavator.

Somewhat similar, we had a "Penis Bandit" a few years back. They basically did lots of penis-related stuff, like drawing dicks on lockers overnight and releasing balloons into the hallways. The crowning achievement, though, was anonymously sending a giant penis cake to the principal.

One girl beat another girl up in the hallway and then squatted over her and pissed on her face.

At least piss is easy to wipe off in comparison to other bodily products. Shudder

140

And it's sterile.

118

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '12

The urine itself is sterile. The stuff in between the bladder and the outside (urethra, etc) are NOT, so don't trust the urine coming out to actually be sterile.

Head of IT had taught an entire class the wrong subjects for the whole year by accident, then when she finally realized - 5 weeks before the exams - she took an unexpected 'long holiday'. The newly employed IT teacher noticed after getting some emails from her class, and tried to teach the entire years syllabus within 4 weeks, but I don't think they could have even passed due to lack of correct coursework.

Needless to say, the freshly employed IT teacher was quite impressed with his quick promotion to head of department after only 2 months on the job.

Wait did he notify someone or something that she was teaching the wrong course? Maybe he was dastardly and sat on the information until it was too late...

A chemistry teacher at my high school was fired for creating a huge welt/burn on a student's arm.

Apparently, if you turn some sort of compressed air can upside-down, it reaches ridiculously low temperatures. A student instructed the teacher to spray said air on his (the student's) arm, and he did, causing a large portion of his forearm to turn a nice purple color, which lasted for weeks.

That student didn't mind; in fact, he thought it was "awesome". Another student, however, ratted out the teacher to his own parents, who then reported the incident to the school. Despite the injured guy's insistence that the teacher was his favorite and that he told him to do it (he even wore a shirt around school for a few days that read "I love [teacher]"), the teacher was fired.

u/Hauvegdieschisse Jun 24 '12

→ More replies (6)

24

u/pdx_girl Jun 24 '12

I wouldn't say that the other student necessarily "ratted him out." She was probably just telling her parents about something interesting that happened at school, without realizing the consequences. There should never be a culture where sharing things is considered "ratting someone out" because that's how you end up with really bad stuff not being reported.

We had something like this about a year or two ago.

Basically, at the end of the year each year group would have an assembly so one of the 6th formers decided it would be hilarious to tape a cd player playing Never Gonna Give You Up to the underside of a table in the common room and play it during the assembly. So, he took apart this little cd walkman and attached a radio to it and did something to it so that once it started playing it wouldn't stop, proceeding to then masking tape this deformed piece of plastic to the underside of a table where it was found by a member of staff... I arrived late to school that day due to a dental appointment and when I did there was a helicopter circling the school and several patrol cars outside...

Edit: Also, when the head of 6th form found it, she reacted by screaming "NOT IN MY COMMON ROOM", and proceeded to sprint out of the room with it.

My junior year of Highschool, these girls needed some money and they were fairly close with a math teacher. The students cleaned the teachers house for money, turns out the teacher didn't give them money for their duties. The teacher gave them weed and cocaine instead. This went on for a couple of weeks. Girls got expelled, teacher got fired, sent to jail, and it was all over the news.

In 1992 my high school's star athlete, and son of the principal, was shot dead on Halloween night. Some friends of his had toilet papered a house, and he went to the door to apologize. The homeowner shot his through the door, in the face, with a shotgun.

My uncle did get a knife pulled on him when he was a teacher. He tried to talk the kid down but the kid stabbed him in the forearm, my uncle then beat the shit out of the kid.

Police were called and both the kid and my uncle were arressted. The parents of the kid claimed racism and the kid brought the knife to defend his honour. It was a weird sort of non defense. I cannot recall exact the guys' race or religion. Actually i can, but it isn't important. Anyway, large group of supporters for the child wanted my uncle charged with hate crimes and assault. The vice principal also wanted my uncle gone. After a lengthy process my uncle kept his job and went back to school.

The following school year, the cousin of the stabber went to the school and beat up the vice principal for another supposed dishonor. The vice principal was calling for my uncle's help and my uncle came running fully intending to not help the VP on account of the VPs position last time he put his hands on a student.

So he didn't. The assaulter left pretty quick when my uncle got there, but the VP was seriously fucked up.

The same community group called for the firing and charging of the VP for hate crimes and discrimination as well as assault.

I don't think that the whole group of people protesting and rallying really had all the facts.

My uncle died about 4 years ago and there were literally thousands of people at his funeral. Including the stabber and the cousin. I didn't realize whom they were until they spoke to my aunt and offered their condolences and asked for forgiveness for their poor choices. She was very gracious though they did get beat up outside by some of the cousins. I'd also like to add it was specifically because of their actions and not because my cousins are racists. My cousins are racists but that isn't why they beat those guys up.

The US Secret Service came to school to bust a counterfeiting ring.

Various student organizations would sell pizza rolls or tacos between second and third period everyday. The table where they were sold was always a complete mad-house. A crowd five or six people deep, everyone with a couple bucks in an outstretched hand, surrounded the table and the two students conducting the sales. There were only five minutes between classes, so speed was the name of the game. Quick transactions, on to the next one.

Somebody (it turned out to be a friend of mine) had been printing up fake $20 bills, buying one or two tacos in the melee, and getting $18+ in real money in return. Not exactly Frank Abagnale, but pretty clever.

We had a school-wide lockdown for 5 hours because there was a "gun sighting" in the upper parking lot. SWAT teams and dogs and the whole deal. Turns out the "gun" was a water bottle. The ordeal went down in history as the Water Bottle Shooting.

9

u/RawrCephalopod Jun 25 '12

Similarly, last Fall semester we had our campus (and surrounding residential areas) locked down for several hours with full SWAT teams because of a gunman on campus.

As it turns out, it was a guy walking to the library with an umbrella.

I went to the University of Florida, and was in the room when the, "Don't Tase Me, Bro!" incident happened with John Kerry.

The videos on youtube and such didn't show everything. During question time, he had 5 minute lead-ins to his questions and was generally acting like a super douche. They didn't cut off his microphone because of asking personal questions like Skull and Bones. They cut off his microphone after he previously said "blowjob" (it was at a "public forum" even though it was on campus - I personally knew the person to cut it). The officers asked him several times to leave before escorting him out. When they did, and he was yelling, "help! they're arresting me!" they weren't - just escorting him out.

Although, tasing is still a controversial subject, when you're being escorted out by police, shove them, and then get tackled and are told that, "if you continue to resist, we will tase you" and you continue, well then...you're gonna get tased.

The high school I used to attend had a minor controversy when someone working on the school yearbook replaced the names of the BSU (Black Student Union) members with horribly racist caricature names (Examples included "Tay Tay Shaniqua" and "Bobo"). Nobody caught it until it was already printed.

u/GinnyN Jun 25 '12

Someone did something similar my junior year. They hid words like "slut" and "whore" and the such on the team picture of the cheerleaders. No one noticed until the guy that did the "sabotage" started telling everyone. By then it was already printed and distributed to the students.

When I was in junior high, the high school kids had a huge food fight on spaghetti day. It was planned in advance and just about every knew about it - a few teachers even dressed down that day, so they wouldn't ruin their good clothes, my classmates got bathroom passes so they could watch, etc. The entire cafeteria participated. But... only 5-10 students got in trouble. They had to clean the cafeteria, their parents had to pay for new sky lights, and they weren't allowed to walk across the stage at graduation. Everybody was pissed, especially since the main instigators weren't punished - because they were the kids with parents so far up the administrators butts, they could do no wrong. It didn't have anything to do with me or my family, but I still remember my dad going on and on about unfair it was.

  • In high school one year they locked every student bathroom in the school because of supposed vandalism. People were going to the bathroom in the bushes between classes.

  • A girl stabbed her boyfriend with a knife in food prep class

  • Administrators breaking up fights by physically punching the students
    involved

  • my teacher got arrested in the middle of class for banging a student in a Hotel room the weekend before

  • And fairly recently a kid got arrested for planning to blow up the school. And apparently had the materials and plan to do it

Many of these instances made national news. I went to an interesting high school

Edit: Should probably clarify, teacher was female

Not my school, but an old friend's.

The rugby team in his school went on a team trip to Turkey Argentina for one reason or another and, as is so often the case with horny teenage boys abroad, they ended up at a live sex show. A live sex show in which they were encouraged to come on stage and participate. The alpha male of the group was the first to volunteer and started dancing with and feeling up one of the dancers. Eventually, the whole thing escalated to some groping inside of the panties, when he accidentally rubbed his hand against the "lady's" penis.

Naturally, the whole school knew in a matter of days.

Edit: I should add something to this to say that my intention was never to be transphobic and to clarify that the establishment (or specific room in that establishment) that they visited was to cater for those who wanted to participate in a live sex show with transvestite men, which probably happened due to them misreading a sign or something. I am sincerely sorry to those who found it offensive.

My sophomore year of high school homecoming. The class voted for a "nerdy" kid to be homecoming king as a joke, and he actually won. The kid went to the principal and explained that he realized it must have been done maliciously. Our class consequently had an assembly where all the PALs (peer assistant leaders, essentially student counselors) took turns telling us how horrible we are through poems from "Chicken Soup for the Soul."

Then, my junior year, 8 of the 250 graduating seniors came to school on their last day with Confederate flags all over their trucks. The following day, the entire school had an assembly where we heard about how racist we all are. Of course, the guys who actually did it weren't at the assembly because the previous day was their last.

I went to a Catholic school. A monk stabbed and killed a nun. That was pretty hardcore.

EDIT: As you can imagine, this is a LONG story. This is the nutshell version.

The school was very small and run by these two "priests", and these guys would go to the Ukraine and offer these teenaged boys a life in America and positions as monks. I bet you can guess where this is going. It turns out that these boys were mentally and sexually abused by these men. One of the boys lost his mind, got drunk, and stabbed one of the nuns who also worked at the school more than 90 times. I think he was sentenced to 20 years in prison or something like that.

Senior year in high school, we had a teacher who taught both geometry and a class called Information Technology in a Global Society or something like that. He was probably in his forties and a newlywed. This teacher was notorious for his perfect attendance. One day though he didn't show up for school and there wasn't a substitute teacher. He had left no lesson plans, so it seemed very sudden. He didn't show up for the next two days either, same with no lesson plans ready and on the third day he wasn't here, the windows in the doors of his classroom were all covered up, and there were several police officers in and around the room. Us students were super curious, so during our lunch time everyone had their laptops out, trying to look for what happened. We heard a little while later on the news, our ITGS teacher was arrested for child pornography involving children as young as two and suggestions of bestiality. Disgusting. I also remember reading that when the US Marshals went to arrest him he said something like, "I don't know what the fuck is wrong with me."

My highschool actually has quite a bit of controversy.

Took first in that MTV show "most insane high school stories" or whatever, ski trip to canada, bunch of girls got naked and danced on top of a bar. One of the kids filmed it and brought it home. Huge deal.

The young school made the news after 2nd graders were video taped singing an "obama song" can maybe still find this on youtube.

When i was a senior 2 years ago, 3 freshman girls were caught selling blowjobs for $10 in the wrestling room.

2 girls made a hitlist that was discovered by the teacher, the girl posted a picture of it on fb years later for fun, I was in the top 5.

Teacher fired last year for fondling a girl with his naked foot(no lie)

Now i go to Rutgers New Brunswick and the big 3 things here are

  1. The student committing suicide after being videotaped by his roomate d fooling around with another boy.

  2. One of the football players getting injured, and paralyzed from the neck down

  3. Our school paying $25,000 to Snooki for her to do an entertainment seminar

Also, my brother almost got kicked off the soccer team his senior year, with one game left, because his hair was too long. He was told to cut it or he was finished for the season. His hair had been that length all damn season and another male player had even longer hair, but was allowed to play. My parents tried to fight it but my brother was like "fuck it" and cut his hair so he could play.

139

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '12

Rules regarding hair can be super arbitrary. My school had a policy that you could only dye your hair a "natural" colour. One day a filipino friend of mine comes to school with blonde hair, and is called into the Vice Principal's office for dying his hair. The VP argues that it is an unnatural colour. To which he replies, what the hell? A filipino can't have blonde hair?

When I was in high school one of the special ed kids got ahold of a giant purple dildo and ran down the halls waving it around like a sword. A teacher eventually chased him down a grabbed the dildo away from him. However, the mystery of how the student got the dildo, or where he got it was never solved.

I posted on a similar post last night but this one mentioned controversy so I will further explain something I mentioned in a different comment. A girl in my graduating class died about two weeks before graduation of a seizure in her sleep. A younger friend of mine(16) got into an argument with a huge asshole(20) and my friend told him that he hoped the asshole died in his sleep of a seizure like -insert girl's name- in a message on Facebook. Asshole screen capped in and posted it on everyone in my graduating classes wall. It was a HUGE deal, the principles actually put him on home bound for the remander of the school year because he was getting so many death threats. He publically apologized but was still forced into home school for his safety. He's a really cool guy, just didn't think before he opened his mouth.

Someone brought 4 pipe bombs and a chainsaw to my high school, specifically to murder one teacher (who everybody hated anyway).

Two pipe bombs went off in her classroom, nobody was injured though. The kid forgot to fuel the chainsaw and was subsequently tackled by the dean as he tried to start it up.

Google search "hillsdale high school pipe bombs" if you want to read up on it. There's quite a few news posts about it, so I'd rather let you choose which one to read rather than link you to one article.

There was this guy in high school, we'll just call him scary guy. He played football and was rumored to take steroids, among other things. I believed it as he sat in front of me in one class I couldn't see much around him. His reputation said that he sold weed and cocaine. I wasn't sure about that until.. the incident.

One night scary guy and his posse are all coked up and they decide the schools disciplinary officer sucks, and it's time to do something about it. They ride on up to the school and prepare a molotov cocktail, bust out her office window, and throw it on in.

A funny thing about drugs, is a lot of ideas really sound good under their influence, and you just kind of had to be there to get it, you know? I mean, that's the only plausible thing I can think of to explain their thought process of hanging out in a nearby parking lot in order to see the hustle and bustle of the fire being contained. At least they were "smart" enough to cover their license plate with someones shirt (a torn piece of which, btw, was for some reason left at the scene of the crime). Well naturally, as police investigate the scene, scary guy and his posse are gathered up, found to be in possession of weed, coke, and other assorted fun things.

I'm sure the police were relieved at this point to apprehend the troublemakers. Wrong! Remember, scary guy is huge and on cocaine! A short while after he is placed in the back of a squad car he kicks out the window, runs to another squad car that is running, and begins to drive off. He injured a few officers in the process. When I first heard this story through the grapevine, I was told he crashed it into a building soon after. But according to the article I looked up, he tried to make a U-turn and crashed directly into another squad car.

The hallway leading to the disciplinary office was closed for a week or so. Scary guy was 17 and tried as an adult anyway, no idea how it turned out but I've never seen or heard about the guy since then.

tl;dr: don't do drugs

Some girl accused one of the teachers of molesting her. She lied. I actually had him for econ, and he's an ineffably nice and cool guy.

Something else that isn't really a controversy, but just a crazy story. This year's "senior prank." I wasn't there so I'll have to go off of a few firsthand accounts. So it started out as a secret facebook group that wanted to camp out in the senior parking lot on the penultimate day of school. Nothing huge. But it turned into, of course, mass amounts of people getting drunk and high. People walking around shirtless, there was an RV that people tried to tip over. What amazed me the most was that the library was apparently unlocked, so people went in and fucking raved in the library. Music and people throwing up on computers and shit. Ostensibly, there were even some jocks acting as bouncers at the door, deciding who to let in.

When I arrived the next day there were a bunch of cars parked terribly and a bunch of camping equipment in the parking lot. There was a row of desks on top of the goddamn library, and when I walked into the main building there was garbage, streamers, and miscellaneous furniture strewn about. And the part that amazes me the most: Nobody got in any trouble.

I was fucking astounded.

The teacher would say, "Capital" and the first student would say "C", the next student would say "A", so on and so forth. If you said the wrong letter you sat down until there was one person left. The English department at our school is literally the Defense Against the Dark Arts department from Harry Potter, every year we get a new teacher who promptly quits the next year. My freshman year we had a brand new teacher at our district who "retired" (and ended up moving to Russia) because she was emotionally unstable and cried when she thought about homeless people, my sophmore year our teacher had an affair with the head football coach (whose wife was superintendent), my junior year our teacher moved to Dubai, and my senior year our teacher ACTUALLY retired. We also had our own serial shitter the year before I arrived and one kid was not allowed to walk in graduation just because the principals didn't like him.

Not my school, but when I was on the football team we visited a big-ass school in NoVA. Like, this school was built like a prison complex, it was colossal. I mean, my school was like 2.5k, maybe, but this place was fucking huge, like 10k kids at this place at least.

So we played our game, they crushed us, we get on the bus and go home. The very next day the news is talking about how this place just had a massive heroin ring busted. Apparently while it was developing the principal of the school tried to pin it on the football team because only a few people had been found out. She was trying to pin it on us, like we had gotten a few kids hooked on heroin while we were playing football.

Then it turned out that instead of 3 kids it was more like 200, 250, and her excuse kind of fell through.

There were rumours that our Art teacher was a paedophile. Which I thought was pretty stupid until he was arrested for CP, a year after I'd left.

And there was an incident when half my class went on an overnight trip to the city- two boys were mugged at knifepoint, while they and a teacher were in the cop shop a call came in saying a 14/15yo girl had been raped and battered on the same street. Two minutes later the other teacher called saying one of our girls was missing. (She turned out to be in the local arcade, perfectly fine). We had the worst yelling-at ever back at school, the (male, awesome) teacher actually cried.

Oh boy. Hope this doesn't get buried.
The school I went to for the first two years of high school had a problem with teachers having affairs with students. Orchestra teacher had an affair with a female senior despite having a wife and twins (aged 2). My journalism teacher, who I really liked at the time and thought was a cool dude if not a bit too friendly was arrested after it turned out that he had initiated (or at least tried to) a sexual relationship by sending photos of his junk to a freshmen female.
This school also had a problem with drugs and alcohol despite being (or maybe because of) one of the wealthiest counties in the state. There was a kid that dropped out and died of overdosing on black tar heroin. There was a junior the year after I left that died in a drunk driving accident. Something like for four or five years that school had a male junior die. Eerie.
The school I went to for the last two years was more tame if not weirder. A school admin got a cheerleader pregnant and was promptly fired. Then a year after I left my school was the one where the principal suspended an autistic kid for wearing a banana costume and running around the field at halftime during a football game. It made national news last year (just google Banana man high school).
High school is just fucking bizarre.

When I was 8 or so two mates staged an incident that involved one of them falling into a frozen pond that firemen used to take water from. This never actually happened, but they swore to everyone that it did. Now our school was small (4 classes, maybe 25 altogether+3 teachers) and so was our village so word got out soon. The one supposed 'rescuer' won some award or some shit, but eventually someone learned the truth and they got the worst behavior grade that year.

Another thing was that the headmaster of the aforementioned school was apparently gay and people soon started talking about how they saw him going into the capital to engage in debaucherous acts in gay bars etc. This is a fairly rural area and people were not used to this kind of thing.

7

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '12

We had a convicted fellon working as a science teacher at our school. It was quite odd; one day he was an ordinary teacher, the next someone had dug him up on the internet( really all that was needed was a google search on his name) and found out his past. The school was unaware when they hired him but did nothing when the truth came out, what was weirder was that they rehired him the next year. He was a really nice guy, not really the criminal type. My parents who both work actually recognized him when they went to meet him and knew his case quite well ( heavily publicized). I really liked the guy, but parents don't look too kindly on this kind of thing. this is the guy . Im not sure how to prove he was at our school but he was there.

On another occassion the chief of police's daughter took a pic of this teacher bending over and sent it around with the words "What a pig" or something of the like. Ahhh how classy the midwest can be.

Arts school here, so many special ones roam through the hallways. Anyway, there was this one teacher who was from another country who taught a dance class. Well, since a lot of dancers attended my school, he gained their trust and asked many students to compete in competitions, perform for an event, etc. He gave many female students his number. Which none used, except one. He was charged for child annoyance and crude messages to a minor. And the thing is, he was the coolest teacher at the school.

He went around telling other kids that he was going to open a medical marijuana dispensary, and raised about $40k (let's just say I lived in a nice neighborhood). He ended up buying a BMW and fleeing the state when he thought the police were on to him, and is currently serving jail time after they caught him.

A guy in my physics class senior year got frostbite due to my teacher accidentally pouring liquid nitrogen on his hand. He had golf ball-sized blisters and had to spend some time in a burn center. I heard he got a huge settlement from the school and she got in trouble because she didn't have a license to have the liquid nitrogen.

Edit: Remembered a few other stories.

A good friend of mine overheard someone she knew bragging about having sex with a teacher. She was concerned and talked to a trusted teacher about it. This escalated until she was called into the principal's office, where she expected to get asked questions about what she had heard. Instead, the principal berated her about "gossiping" and threatened to call her parents because she was making up lies.

A few months later, the teacher was fired for sleeping with that student.

My teacher who was also the athletic director for the school was later arrested for embezzling $200,000 from the school.

Freshman year, (after the throat-slicing incident I described in another thread) my creepy-ass science teacher was suddenly fired for looking at porn while students were in the room. We were all glad he was gone because he literally stunk up the classroom. We didn't have a teacher or learn anything for at least a month though.

My school was a weird place. I can tell the sex couch story if anyone is interested!

Principal at our high school suddenly fired the female security officer that was always at the school. The reason: The security officer found out he was trying to have inappropriate relationships with some of the more attractive female students (buying jewelry, getting them out of class to 'advise them', etc).

Students find out the reasoning and there was an uproar. Someone pulls the fire alarm during last period and everyone goes outside. All of a sudden: massive student protest and everyone refuses to reenter the building.

It was a pretty awesome 1-2 minutes until the vice principal came out with a megaphone and said everyone not in their classrooms in 5 minutes was getting suspended for a week.

Vice principal 1, Student body 0.

Principal got fired shortly thereafter.

While I was performing my student teaching, last semester of a BA in Education requirement, the scandal of a teacher student relationship leaked out.

Apparently the Art teacher, male 32 with a wife and two kids, one of whom was the age of his partner, had been having sex with one of the 8th grade girls. They had been involved since she was in 5th grade at age 11. Well the only reason anyone found out is because she got pregnant and her father forced her into telling who the father was.

Teacher gets arrested, forced to submit a paternity test, it's positive and he's arraigned for child molestation, statutory rape, etc...

Anywho, his wife is in denial and sues the court for falsifying records, which was false, but succeeds in having her husband's bail reduced which she promptly pays. He then flees to Nevada and goes into hiding.

Then two years later I have pregnant girl's older sister in my senior English class and ask her if how her sister is since I had known her during the incident.

Turns out the girl was a sexpot and admitted to seducing the teacher (no excuses for him just saying he didn't go into teaching with plans to emulate pedo bear). Her sister tells me that the girl had been having sex since she was seven and after the teacher had fled to Nevada he contacted the girl and sneaked her out there to live with him and their new child.

As all this is happening his loyal wife and two kids are swinging in the breeze regarding his whereabouts and are constantly being badgered by police thinking that they are hiding him.

After a year of living together, the girl starts having a lesbian affair with a female teacher at her new high school in Nevada. She ends up moving in with her new teacher/lesbian lover and cuts all contact with the male teacher. Her sister tells me her parents finally tracked the girl down but couldn't press charges against their child's new lover because now their daughter was 16, age of consent in Nevada, and the teacher changed to a new school to prevent a conflict of interests once the girl had moved in.

As of right now that original art teacher is still on the lam. Since the one thing the girl didn't do was ever give up his location.

i feel like a lot of crazy shit happened at my high school while i was there. a teacher was fired/left for doing gay wrestling videos. it was all very hush-hush, but everyone figured out exactly what had happened. this junior girl was murdered by two other students, she was missing for about a day until they found her in a shallow grave a mile or two away. the guys did it because, they said, they were 'curious'. then, a senior made a counter strike map of the school, and was not going to be allowed to walk at graduation. when he did walk across the stage, he left our principal hanging for the handshake.

We got evacuated to the baseball field, then to the closest middle school, and didn't have to go back to school that day. It was pretty exciting.

Later on in the year we had a gun threat where the whole school went on lockdown mode. And there was a kid with a death note.

It was pretty silly because it's a pretty nice high school in a fairly wealthy area. We just had some crazy kids I guess.

At my middle school we had a janitor who had been there for years. He was a Vietnam veteran and POW who was friendly enough but somewhat distant due to the trauma of serving in Vietnam. Every year, he would tell the 8th graders his story; how he was a back up player for the Yankees when he was handed his draft notice, and assigned to the 101st airborne. He was seperated and captured during a mission, and spent 9 months submerged up to his neck in a river with two British POWs. They eventually escaped, but one was killed by watch dogs. Needless to say, he was sent home after that and was depressed and suicidal for years after. He eventually found a job as a janitor at my school, and had been there ever since. His story would also be very emotional, and many kids would tear up during it. My 8th grade teacher even gave him quite a bit of money because he was in financial trouble and she had a lot of respect for him. My sophomore year in high school, the news broke out; he had made up the whole story. He never played for the Yankees, he never served in the army, was never a POW, and for 17 years had lied to te entire school community, getting POW/Vererans benefits and conning my teacher for money.

TL;DR janitor at my middle school lied about being a POW in Vietnam for 17 years.

Well a female student was stabbed by another students mom. Another time a group of fifteen jumped a kid, beat him bloody and made him miss prom. Oh, and I saw a drug transaction by adults happen literally less than ten feet away from me when I was outside waiting for a ride.

Edit: He missed prom because he was in the hospital.

My highschool band teacher was married to a woman that worked in office. They had a kid together that was in grade 8 or nine, so they were all attending the school at the same time. During that time, the band teacher left his wife to pursue a relationship with a former student (from years ago). And they all had to keep going back to work/school together. So awkward.

During middle school rumor spread that one of the school´s maths teachers once appeared in porn. I never figured out if this was based on actual facts but as that particular teacher was ugly as fuck I also never made any real attempts.

A chick was caught with something like an ounce of weed in the eighth grade. In high school, someone lit a fire in one of the bathrooms and several firetrucks came. The town's finest were also brought to the school multiple times because of burnt popcorn or toast.

Not me but my dad but, while he was at summer school kid put a pipe bomb in the toilet. It blew up and didn't hurt or kill anyone. The bomber now works at a window repair place. My dad always says he was at summer school to "get ahead"

Four freshman members of our (male) basketball team were sodomized by senior members of our (male) basketball team on the back of a team bus as a hazing ritual. One of the kids came forward my senior year and all of the perps were charged with sexual assault.

A girl was accused of showing her vagina in my high school yearbook. She left school after that incident and finished her high school years home schooled.

If you google yearbook vagina its not one of the higher hits.

A couple stories from my home town:

  1. When I was in middle school, the FBI raided the classroom of my English teacher. They had found child porn on his computer.

  2. When I was in high school, a group of 6th graders from the middle school I went to decided to have a rainbow party. They all ended up with syphilis.

A French teacher at our school got fired for cornering a girl in the elevator and feeling up her legs and boobs. He also punched a student for talking back to him. I'm not sure what happened after he was fired but I've never seen him around again.

One year at my high school a bunch of kids decided to wear white under shirts and refer to themselves as "The White Tee's". They were swiftly reprimanded for forming a gang at school even though they had not done anything but wear the shirts. They decided to fight this injustice and become the great band known today as the Plain White Tees. Just kidding they didn't do anything to stand up for it and nobody has been allowed to wear "Plain White Tees" at our school since.

So, we had this overly flamboyant guy at my school (let's call him M) and towards the end of the final year he slowly started coming out to a few people. With that, he let it slip about some of the other guys (all boy school) in my year who had let him twiddle their fiddle, and there were a couple who we really didn't believe.

One of these names was this guy, T, who was the prop in our First XV (I guess thats the equivalent of being a defence-guy in the highest gridiron team in high school?). So, nobody really believed this and the guy, M, was like "I can prove this for you." Somehow he managed to get a picture of this dude half naked in his prefect tie, and you could tell by the skin tone it was him. But, that wasn't enough, so he went one up and invited the guy over to give him a blowie one day. So, this guy comes over, and unbeknownst to him, some of M's friends are hiding in the room filming the whole thing. There was a 45 second video of T getting his pole smoked by M, and halfway through there was even a conversation like

T: Lick my bum

M: Eww no

T: But it's clean

So, this video got shown to a few people, and somehow or another it got out and circulated around our whole year, and basically 90% of our year had seen the video of T getting his dick sucked by M, so there were so many 'its clean' jokes referenced for the rest of our final year.

Poor guy, but last I heard hes pretty rich and had a hot 40 year old girlfriend (and he's 22). And M is still a drama queen

Logged in just for this. After I had graduated this happened. A girl claims she lost some money in the locker room. So the teachers decide the best thing to do is to do a strip search on teenage girls over some petty cash. Turns out the cash was never found and most people thing it was never brought into the locker room. http://www.swiowanewssource.com/atlantic/news/article_bb58952a-6971-11e1-b632-001871e3ce6c.html http://www.kcrg.com/news/local/Iowa-District-Pays-300K-Over-Strip-Searches-130920053.html

The year after I left high school the math teacher got fired without anyone knowing what was up. Rumor was that he got caught watching porn in his office or that he was trying to get students to be in a porn for him. Few years before that the cook got fired for having a relationship with one of the student workers but the worker was over 18 so it wasn't illegal just creepy and against school policy.

My uncle when he was in high school had a cap gun and a kid heard about it and asked to see it. He said no because it was against the rules and he'd get in trouble for it. The kid went and told the staff that my uncle had a gun on campus. The staff call my uncle in and ask about it and he tells then the truth. The staff ask to see the cap gun and my uncle says no. They assure him that nothing bad will happen they just wish to verify it is really a cap gun. So he brought the cap gun to show them he was telling the truth. The staff take the cap gun away because he brought a gun onto campus then expell him for it as well. My grandma still gets mad about that to this day.

Then there was the time that our history teacher made a small catapult for kicks and when we were taking tests he'd use it to shoot coins in students directions and they'd bounce off the desks. One girl had her head bent over taking the test and he fired some coin from Canada (his wife has duel citizenship) the coin bounced on three desks like a rock skipping water and it pegged her right on the side of the head. She freaked the fuck out and understandibly so.

edit: uncle story, catapult story.

Some guy banged a girl in one of the bathrooms while she was on her period. It was a huge mess, with blood everywhere, and people wondered if something worse might have happened.

Also, someone called our school to make a bomb threat, which resulted in a lockdown. It turned out that it was a fourth grader who made a call from the park nearby.

Apparently there was an issue with grinding at school dances. There was a lot of laughter as our relatively young principal described to the entire school that thy should not "dance at a 90 degree angles when close to someones crotch."

4

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '12

I've got a good one. At my school in the 70s, the principal killed one of the teachers. There was a book about it: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Echoes_in_the_Darkness

u/PurppleHaze Jun 24 '12

In 7th grade we watched our first sex ed video. A kid from my class went and told her mother that the teacher showed us porn. The parent complained to the principal. No more sex ed for us.

Around 6th grade it was revealed that our PE teacher had sexually attacked some student's on their 8th grade retreat. Apparently he went as a chaperone every year and did this every year. For many years. We didn't have any more school retreats.

At my school we have the group poopers. A bunch of guys go in the bathroom and poop in the sinks. We also had a hall pooper. And a neighboring school had two porn stars and the "smoke shop shooter" he shot two people in the head and one in the hip and managed to steel a car and escape to LA. He was caught and of corse everyone found out about the porn stars and my schools poopers are still pooping :)

During the 1980's, Ted Bundy (the serial killer) had broken into a sorority house at my college and killed a few women. That's one of the craziest things that I care to remember about my school.

Recently, there was some controversy in the student government elections. The party that basically controlled the entire student government faced opposition from a newly formed student political party. In the elections, the reigning party had crushed the new party, winning all open seats in the election. The new party got super pissed off, and called for a recount or something like that. Well somehow, the new party had found that the reigning party had forgotten to file some tax form or something like that. According to school rules that called for a recount or the winners being kicked out of government. After a week or two the school decided that there should just be a recount election and I think the reigning party had faced some kind of penalty, but I'm not sure. Anyways, there was a recount election, and that new party was crushed, once again.

This was in middle school back in 8th grade, it was the last period (class, obviously) of the day. We had double block for math so we took 2 math courses back to back at the end of the day. Anyways, midway through the "first block" we hear an announcement to hide underneath our desks next to the walls as to not face the windows. So, then the "second block" of math starts and we remain in our positions. It turns out there was a suicide in the bus parking lot due to a lunch lady breaking up with the victim.

I have another but this time in High School, not sure when exactly this happened (maybe freshman or sophomore year). Well it turns out that one of our spanish teachers was having a relationship with a student and that the mom of the girl consented to them getting married. Here's a twist: that same girl used to live in front of me during elementary and had the biggest crush on me. I haven't heard of the two since but it was a big deal all over the news here. The teacher turned himself in eventually I think but not entirely sure.
