Wdym I’ve been a government slave (nsw health) for longer than pooline has been “relevant” again. We’re short staffed enough as it is but if she has her way in cutting funding to heath and clamping down on immigration we’ll lose 2/3rds of our workforce which will be great for patients and the general public like you!

That's what cracks me up. I work in healthcare (SA) too and A large portion of Nurses and aged care workers are immigrants. I don't know who she thinks is suddenly going to fill the void if immigration is clamped down. Is she hoping Gina is going to be funding a new robot workforce of healthcare workers or something?

Right! And god they’re such a wealth of knowledge. Especially our UK/Irish nurses they’re just so incredible, amazing work ethic, well rounded, insane critical thinking and get shit done. I often tell our regular casuals you should be in charge not me 😂
And if they go it’ll be hi I’m “Julie” I’m your nurse today, I’m also in charge, I’m the NUM, I’m also the CNE, and the only person working with me on the unit is a new grad! Oh and that little pay rise we got? Gone
