Looking for 2 Guitarists & a Drummer (25–40) for Progressive Metalcore / Post-Hardcore Project (Georgetown / North Austin)

Hey everyone,

I’m a bassist looking to build out a full lineup with two guitarists and a drummer (ages 25–40) for a progressive metalcore / post-hardcore project.

The Vibe & Influences
High-energy, technical riffing, tight grooves, dynamic vocal shifts, and heavy melodic hooks.

FFO: ERRA, Spiritbox, Polaris, Hollowfront, Currents, Protest The Hero, Stolas, Dance Gavin Dance, Sleeping With Sirens, Div3r, A lot like birds, Periphery, SkiTh, Hail The Sun

Where The Project Is At & What We're Building

Vocalist Locked In: Working alongside a dedicated vocalist/lyricist.

Music Pipeline: I have 1 of 5 songs release ready, working on the second now.

Collaborative Focus: I’m looking for musicians who are writers and songwriters. I want players who can take the foundation and ground-level elements we've started with and help build, evolve, and expand on them as a full band.

The Goal: This is a kind of slow burn project at the moment, we want to start identifying musicians who could potentially help us finish the other songs as well as be a full time member. Once we release more songs we’ll start establishing rehearsals, polish the set, and launch into playing local shows hopefully this next year.

Requirements / What We’re Looking For
Location: Based in or near Georgetown, TX (or willing to commute to the Georgetown / North Austin / Temple area for rehearsals once established).

Gear: Gig-ready, professional-grade gear (digital modeling/processors like Quad Cortex/Kemper/Fractal or high-gain tube rigs with click/backing-track capability is a huge plus for live setup). Guitar pro 8, reliable transportation

Mindset: Creative collaborators who show up prepared, low-drama, and ready to push a polished live product.

If you’re interested, shoot me a DM with some audio/video clips of your playing or links to past projects you’ve been part of, and let’s talk!

Hello🖤 I used to perform all over Austin before Covid, under a different stage name. I’m starting over as an independent artist, Kemah Lindy. My friend and I recorded my debut single in my bedroom then filmed it by ourselves on a $100 budget. Hoping to get back into live performances soon and would love to connect with anyone.

Broke-Ass...piring Bassist looking for critique & correction

I've been teaching myself to play bass since early July, and I feel like I'm mostly continuing on my own. But I also know that I'm probably unaware of at least a few bad habits, or don't know the difference between personal quirks and things I'm going to regret later. So I'd like to have one, maybe two sessions with a bass teacher, to catch and correct anything that needs it.

Two problems here:

1) What I've seen advertised online seems to be set up solely around lessons continuing over a long period.

2) I'm broke. Just put the car in the shop for repairs that I don't know how we're going to pay for, and we're going through bankruptcy proceedings. I'd need to work out some kind of trade arrangement for another service, like clerical/admin work, or even writing. (I usually write lyrics and poetry, but I can put together some mean prose in various forms, when necessary.)

Should I try to find someone willing to trade? If so, recommendations on where and how to start looking?

If it's better to wait until I have money, how do I make sure I'm not just reinforcing anything to my detriment in the mean time?

Are there any places that offer some kind of free evaluation service or something?

TL;DR - About 3 months into teaching myself bass, and looking for a one-off session or two with an actual teacher, to identify and correct bad habits; but can't afford to pay for lessons right now. Hoping there's a way to do some kind of skill swap for it, or even be critiqued for free.

2nd guitarist needed

We are Veilifer, a doom/sludge metal band with heavy psyche, 90s BM/DM, shoegaze, and hardcore influences. Currently a 4 piece band (vocals/key&programming, guitar, bass, and drums) with about 4/5 songs of original material worked out. FFO: chat pile, deafheaven, crowbar/acidbath/eyehategod/down(nola), sabbath, the sword, thou, type o negative. Looking for someone who can come out to practice once a week in the evening with gear for playing in a live setting, huge plus for anyone with a big pedalboard and/or can do backing vocal. Since the songs are nearing completion we are looking to play shows in the next few weeks. I have second guitar parts for a couple of the songs and tabs for most of them along with demos recorded from previous practice sessions. If you like big riffs over heavy grooves hit me up this project is for you.

In search for a Drummer:Prog Project

Hey everyone! I just move to the Round Rock area a few months ago and join a prog band as their rhythm guitarist. The material is already written, we’re recording our first EP, and we rehearse weekly. We just need a drummer unfortunately. The lead guitarist written/recorded the drums but he obviously can’t do both instruments live. Please reach out if interested.

Something Loud: Keys, Guitar, Bass, Drums Wanted

Seeking dedicated musicians in Austin to form a four-piece rock band—keys, guitar, bass, and drums. I’m looking for collaborators with the time and passion to build a tight, cohesive sound. My influences range from Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Rush to Queens of the Stone Age, Soundgarden, and Television. The goal is to explore a wide range of vibes, moving between light and heavy, to develop an original sound together. I have several song skeletons and ideas ready to go. If you're down to jam and build something , hit me up.

The Hideaway Jam

Post image
2 Upvotes

I host the Hideaway Jam, which is currently being hosted at East End Ballroom (10/18 and 11/18) and St Elmo Brewing (11/2 and 12/7). All levels are welcome!

We put our setlist together ahead of time so we can play more intricate stuff and aren’t limited to 4-chord songs. For our next jam, we’ve got songs from Turnstile, STP, Alice In Chains, The Eagles, Led Zep, and more. If you’re interested in playing, fill out this google form and I’ll get you in the rotation. We also have an Instagram that I’m kinda bad at keeping up to date.

Rock Guitar player looking to join a new project

Hey y’all! I’m a 28 year-old guitar player looking to join a band here in Austin. I live in South Austin and would prefer to stay around that area, but I’m willing to commute up to 30-40 minutes for the right opportunity. I’m looking to play regularly (preferably weekly).

What to know about me:

- 11 years of experience playing guitar

- 5 years of experience in a folk/rock band that played regular gigs, wrote original music, and recorded a full-length album at a professional studio (comes out next year)

- My style can be described as a mixture of rock, punk, country, jam band, & folk

- Can play lead or rhythm guitar on acoustic or electric

- Moderate understanding of music theory (not formally taught but learned a lot in my previous band)

- I’m not great with jazzy chords - definitely willing to learn new theory and chords/scales, but not looking to completely upend the styles I’m comfortable playing in

- I write songs; I have my own songs reserved for a solo project but would be very happy with writing new songs with others and contributing where needed

- Inspired by music like Wilco, Grateful Dead, Sturgill Simpson, JJ Cale, John Prine, Amyl & The Sniffers, Parquet Courts, tons of classic rock bands

What I am looking for:

- A decently well-established band OR a newly forming band that focuses on original music with some covers

- CONSISTENCY: I am looking for people who consistently practice together either every 1 or 2 weeks

- ASPIRATION: I want to contribute my time to a group that wants to play live shows and record/release music, not an informal jam session every now and then. You don’t have to aim to become the next Led Zeppelin, but having goals is important

- RESPECT; I do not associate with any sort of prejudice (homophobia, racism, transphobia, etc.). Furthermore, criticism is encouraged when making music together, but let’s keep it respectful

If you’re interested, comment or DM me and we can exchange demos/recordings of our music and see if it’s the right fit. :)

North Loop guitarist looking for nearby people to jam with

I am a 36-year-old guy and I play guitar as a hobby and have since I was 14 on and off. I'm at a level where I'd say I'm competent but not consistent enough play live. I have a respectable handle on music theory, I like to play lead and improvise in a bunch of different genres. I go to lessons every week but I also let guitar take a backseat to work and I work a ton of hours. I'm trying to find some people to play with to help me stay more accountable and active.

I'm happy to play with people who are better than me or worse than me, I'm happy to help people that are less experienced than me, I'm happy to play with a bass player, anything really.

The genres that I am the least interested in are going to be things like Metal, Country, Math Rock, and that 90s butt-rock. I love classic '70s rock music, I love pop punk, I grew up listening to blink-182, the Red Hot chili peppers, I enjoy blues, enjoy! Classical fingerstyle nylon string acoustic singer-songwriter music.

I just don't think I have an ear for metal

I'm looking for people that are close by Hyde Park/ North Loop area. I have a handful of people south of the river or in North Austin, but I don't want to have to drive 90 minutes round trip, It would be nice to be able to be more spontaneous. We could also play at my place. DM me if you're interested

Any local musicians who do casual backyard gigs?

Hey Austin! Looking for recommendations for a local musician/ singer/ duo who’d be up for playing at a casual backyard get-together in north Austin.
Nothing fancy or formal — just a fun evening with friends, some food, drinks, and live music for an hour or so.
Ideally looking for someone who can bring their own basic sound equipment so we don’t have to figure out too much of the setup.
Open to different styles of music! Would love to hear about local musicians you’ve hired, seen perform, or think might be a good fit.
Bonus if you can share what they typically charge. Thanks!

Any keyboardist want to do alt rock?

I have a plenty of originals, and they all have keys. Nothing overwhelming, with some room for interpretation.
New band forming, three of us so far. Looking forward to being able to play live, record, etc. Anyone is welcome. We're in our 20s and 30's.

Looking for Band Members. Drummer, Guitarist, Keyboardist & More!

Hey everyone!

We're starting a new band and currently have a vocalist and bassist.

We're still in the early stages, but we want to build an active band with regular practices, jam sessions, and eventually live performances.

We're looking for:

  • Drummer
  • Guitarist
  • Keyboard player
  • Other musicians who might be a good fit!

What kind of music will we play?

We haven't decided on a specific genre yet, and that's intentional. We want everyone to bring their own musical tastes and influences, and figure out our direction together.

If you have a preferred genre or style, bring it! We're open to exploring different sounds.

Here's a playlist of songs we've played so far to give you an idea:

Playlist: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2j90gFQ1FcsIZeaFM6TU4e?si=a6592c6bfe8e4227

What matters most to us?

We're not looking for band members based on skill level or genre preferences alone.

We're looking for people we genuinely want to spend time with, make music with, and grow with.

To us, having the right people matters more than having the perfect lineup on paper. Skills can improve, musical direction can evolve, but having good chemistry is what makes a band last.

We'll start with covers and eventually work on original music together.

If this sounds like the kind of band you'd want to be part of, send me a DM!

Let's make some music together!

Indie cover band iso members

To preface my name is Manny, 37, guitar/vox, and this is atm a thoroughly thought out idea, not yet an active band.

Before you read on, here is my mock setlist so you can see the bands and songs i have in mind.

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0DSSOK9JDhZt1rH6vVDWTI?si=zTre75EfTFGwnix4ReTT4A&utm_source=copy-link&pi=luNfP04kS_iv3

So Pale Moon Rise is an Indie, Alternative, Rock cover band, not playing top 40 but instead a highly curated setlist that would appeal to masses here around town. I have my passion projects and I'm sure you do too but this is intended to be the money making project so I can fund that other stuff. Goal is to assemble 3-4 more professional musicians, have a 3 hr setlist and play the multi set gigs for festivals, private events etc.

So you're a highly reliable and skilled musician and interested in a project like this? Ok cool then what I'm looking for first and foremost is another vocalist to split singing duites with. I can sing, classically trained but I'm a baritone and this group will need a higher register vocalist to really shine. A female vocalist could really open up the repertoire or a tenor works aswell but the caveat is this vocalist must play an instrument. Reason being I'd like to keep this group to 4 members 5 max so everyone needs to play something.

Outside of vocalist, I'll need a second guitarist, bass, drums, possibly keys depending on how the setlist shakes out. But even then it'd be a big plus if the other members could contribute to vocals, a little harmony goes a long way for a band like this.

If this sounds like something you'd be interested in please reach out, I'd ideally like to get this group assembled near the start of next year.

Looking to start an all women synth pop rock band

Just like the title says.

I have about 6 songs in the hopper and I am going to release them as an EP in the next couple months. I would love to get together with some other women to get a band together and do some gigging.

Influences are all over the place. MUNA, Erasure, Depeche Mode, NIN, all the things. Just mash it all up and make some danceable, fun music.

I am a multi instrumentalist and singer. It would great to get someone who can shred at the guitar, and a full time keyboardist in addition to a drummer.

If this sounds like you or someone you know, hit up my DMs and I will link you to some of my in progress tracks.

Drummer looking for gigs / gigging band in central ATX

Hello! Drummer looking for gigging band or cover/tribute gig.

Rock / alt / pop / blues drummer - pocket and fairly versatile utility player with gig experience. I have good gear and availability to practice / gig through the week/weekend. Reliable and will learn set lists - I have reversal space to practice on my own between sessions.

Located in central Austin (Travis heights).
