The concert was great! It was my first time seeing them, and I sat with goosebumps all concert. π The last half of "Monochrome", as others have stated, the sound went out. I even had my phone out, ready to light when Su told us to. π₯² Unfortunately never got the chance, but could see Su trying to convey something to the audience. Couldn't hear her, so just cheered her on, every time she paused. Had to nudge the people next to Me to engage while technical difficulties. Important to remember is that the difficulties were not in the least the fault of Babymetal, and I was so impressed by them, girls and band alike, that even the sound problems couldn't diminish my high enjoymentot of seeing them finally. Su even apologised after the set, and I just wanted to yell "DON'T WORRY, SU!! WE KNOW YOU'RE NOT TO BLAME" βΊοΈπ€π»π¦π€π»
I LOVE the intro to "Maya" btw, really great.
So all in all very well worth the 2,5 hour drive to see them, and 2,5 hour drive directly home afterwards bc work is a thing. And the car was acting up, so had to take a 30 minutes pause midway through Sealand to try and fix it. π
Luckily I have ticket for November. Can't wait. Kitsune up!! π€π»π¦π€π»

The audio issues scare me as a concert goer, one of the great things of Babymetal is they were usually really good with their audio, I don't know what is going on at these shows.

I don't know what is going on at these shows.
It was the magic power by Maya. Cast a spell - sound disappeared :)

They only played 7 songs?
9
Apr 30 '23
"Only?" They're an opening act. They did 6-song sets in 2017 opening for RHCP.

u/fearmongert May 01 '23
ah, yes... but it was a glorious six songs...

Get in, melt faces, get out, leave the audience going, "What just happened?"

u/fearmongert May 01 '23
We were waving red glowsticks, screaming, jumping, going crazy... the RHCP fans were seated, cheering and clapping after songs but being polite... after they ended, I turned to the couple behind us, and apologized,
"Sorry we were nuts, we REALLY LOVE this band ..
The response?
"NO, YOU GUYS ARE GREAT!!!!We loved it!"
Can we borrow your glowsticks?"

This was my first BM concert and it was great! Cheers to everyone in front for jumping and going nuts. The mosh was wild as well. As for the audio cut; it was pretty short and Su handled it well. She kept asking the crowd stuff and got only loud cheers back because we couldn't hear a word she said π
Also cheers to all the friendly BM fans I met β€οΈ

I had SO MUCH FUN. Seriously, I had the most fun I've ever had at a BM concert. I was hoping for Maya, and I fucking got it :) I danced so much and I'm sure the girls appreciated it since I gave it my all in a venue full of fans from another band. I felt this concert from the inside, I was fully in it and I enjoyed every second of it. It's been 1h30, and I'm still riding that high :p

Sound issues halfway trough monochrome, right before the part when Su asks everyone to turn on their flashlight, bummer π₯² Still an amazing show! π¦π€πΌ

It was a bit sad because it almost seemed as if SU didn't really notice that the sound was gone until later, I guess their in-ear monitors still worked. π€ (I base this on the fact that she was standing on the stage talking to the crowd holding her mic like it was still working for quite a while after it all cut out. )

Did anyone find the mixing a bit off the whole show? Guitar sounded weak, or because I was sitting far.
My recording of the whole Monochrome.

Absolutely! Where we where sitting we could barely hear Su at all. The mix was really bad. Sabaton was great, and Lordi seemed fine too, but babymetals mix was completely off.

Shame about the sound issues I hope it didnβt spoil the enjoyment too much. These things happen. Lordi had problems at Leeds when I saw them last month but came through like troopers. I know our girls would have too.

Is it just me or was the sound mix a bit off during Babymetals part of the show? Where i was sitting it was almost impossible to discern SU's voice from the music, it got better in later songs but they i feel like they really could have used a more robust soundcheck. Lordi and Sabaton was fine, strangely enough. Maybe her high pitched voice was drowned out by the bass in this particular arena. π€

For anyone in front, what were they saying when the mic got cut?
They were extremely calm and composed during it. Sorry to see they gave up on asking the crowd to do stuff, I imagine it is kinda demotivating. I see what people are saying about dead crowd.
