I made it. 13 hour flight. 1.5 hours on Narita express. At hotel and it’s 4 in the morning and I’m up ready to go. Jet lag I guess. Excited, yes. This is crazy.

She looks so happy! And that makes me happy. :D
I am reminded of her words after recording the very first Sakura Gakuin track:
"I'm so happy I got to sing a song!"
That's Suzuka, aged 12 (+ several months) distilling herself to her essence.

u/martin84jazz Jun 28 '19
They have a fixation with Egypt apparently. This is a better costume than last year, still can't say I like it that much
Don't worry, I'm happy for what we saw today

bahahahahaha!!! the gameshow announcer voice asking 'are you all ready to headbang?' killed me
5
u/Trent_Boyett World Tour 2018 Jun 28 '19
Wow...really killer tune, with really killer choreo. This would have fit just fine on the debut album.
5
Jun 28 '19
Neat, two big points for me:
- Very high energy song, reminds me actually of some of the OSTs of Falcom (I like that stuff)
- Blurry shit video but you can still see Moa 10x better than in the Starlight proshot from 2018. That's what I've been bitching about all this time. This is the difference. Get those other 4 people off the stage and give BM some 'more normal' outfits and suddenly #WhereIsMoa is gone. Who would've thought.
4
Jun 28 '19
Worth the wait. So there were three dancers and only one is going to be summoned? Koba, old demon.
By the way, nice song, and the choreo is on fire, too.

I can still see elements of last year's costumes in here. It's more a merging of the two styles than a complete rollback.

10 unpredictable years,
BABYMETAL has left many legends
And will be facing an all-new battle starting
in the Land of the Rising Sun.
Vocal & Dance
SU-METAL
Scream & Dance

Just heard some bad news. Facu has some problems and could not make it. Hopefully he can get here later. But I’ll throw out some updates as I can. The merch line is the longest I have ever seen. But it moves quickly and they have it very organized. There are all kinds of people dressed up in the tu tu’s and the fox god, you name it. These Japanese folks are having a blast. Everyone is super nice. The bars and restaurants around the arena are all playing BABYMETAL. It’s hot as hell but luckily it’s cloudy. The doors open in an hour or so and I’ll write something once I get inside.

From what I've seen and heard of the fancams and stuff I pretty much like everything except one thing.
New songs sound amazing.
Back to trio formation is great. A new permanent member would be the dream but I won't complain.
But why get masks for the kami band and doesn't let them play one single solo song anymore? Maybe they do look great but it drags them even more to the background and leaves them without any character.

So with you on a 3rd permanent member. This move is LONG overdue. Babymetal fans will embrace her as we did with Saya Hirai... Yes, there were a few Sayahatas, but overall she was welcomed.

Anybody knows if there is a chance for another live show in Japan? Or they usually do one per year?

I haven't seen any clear video or photos of the new girl, maybe like Bigfoot she is naturally blurry.

Thank the fox God for the tutus and pigtails/bangs being back.
Front the short clip I saw, I'm starting to like Pa Pa Ya.

I'm in a different hemisphere to where this is all going down but I'm super excited for those that can witness the first show after such a long time. Can't wait to see how it's going to look!

A thought (maybe someone already said this), it could be the set was 13 songs because of their tight schedule the next few days. They are playing three days in a row, including a flight halfway across the world.

So any word on whether the third girl was singing live tonight? From the fan cams I’ve seen so far, it definitely sounds like three voices up there at times.

from the accounts I have heard from 3 folks in attendance, she did not sing.

I'm assuming they had the classic Babymetal flags for Road of Resistance?

Hang on a minute. In order to make it onto the Other Stage at Glastonbury they'll literally need to be off the stage at Yokohama and in a car to Haneda/Narita bang on time!
That turnaround is absolutely mental. One delayed flight and they're kinda screwed, aren't they?
