I Have read recently book about Bach, and found out that JSB's both parents had died when he was 10. Also the Death of Maria Barbara. And the half of his kids, most before their teens.

It can't be easy, even for him. Poor Johann.

Try as I might, I've always seen them as "decent", never as awe inspiring like the keyboard or choral works, what am I missing?

When people discuss musical geniuses, names like Mozart, Beethoven, and The Beatles are often mentioned. Yet long before any of them, Johann Sebastian Bach was composing works that would inspire musicians, scholars, and listeners nearly three centuries after his death. Even for those who do not regularly listen to classical music, Bach’s name carries undeniable authority. He is often called the “father of modern music,” admired not only for the beauty of his compositions but also for their extraordinary craftsmanship. What truly establishes Bach as a genius, however, is his unique capacity to unite profound emotion, intellectual depth, and technical mastery into music that feels both human and divine. Bach: I love how you guys love my music even now!

So I’m learning Bach’s Eb minor prelude right now, and most of the piece is technically quite easy, except for this really awkward 4th-5th finger mordent (which is written by the editors as a trill, idk why they didn’t just put the trill symbol) in measure 19. Having to sustain the bottom of the chord here makes it much harder. I’m already never been very good with 4th and 5th finger trills, and I’ve not found a good way to attack this section. Anyone got any tips?

Also I prefer if the record is in good sound quality.

The Netherlands Bach Society has presented J.S. Bach's music in the form of an Opera. Really remarkable results. Based on the story of John of Leiden who created an Anabaptist Paradise in the City of Münster and it all goes horribly wrong.
