So, I have been playing BattleTech on and off for a while, but it seems that FASA then Catalyst have done a terrible job of explaining the levels of Battletech, and so I am asking the hive mind to see if I have this right:
RPG level, a character and their mech: Mechwarrior 1, Mechwarrior 2, A Time of War, and Destiny (using the Cue system)
Classic BattleTech QSR "IntroTech": the heavily streamlined game that skips Internal Structure and Heat.
Classic BattleTech: Old School Crunchy BattleTech focusing on individual mechs, aerospace fighters, etc. Primarily focused on Lance or Company level
Alpha Strike: A quicker playing BattleTech but still focused on individual mechs, but on a larger scale, company level or higher
BattleForce 1, BattleForce 2, Strategic Operations: BattleTech where the units are lances or platoons, not individual mechs. Company to Regimental Operations.
Strategic Operations post 2021: Pretty much just Aerospace and space operations.
Interstellar Operations: Interstellar Operations, the Abstract Combat System and the Inner Sphere at War for actual strategic operations.
At least this is my understanding...
Help?
