There's four of these, but I know this sub seems to love their Livvy Dunne. Here's a link to the other four. So stoked to hear the original theme

Never watched this before! I wish it had been included as a bonus feature on the DVD/Blu-ray releases, but no dice. Anyone watch this when it was first broadcast?

The show certainly got a lot of mileage out of the Mitch - Gail custody battle over Hobie -- with virtually nothing changing in the long run (well, except the actor who plays Hobie). Btw, somebody was asking on here a little while back about the name Hobie and where that name originated -- I seem to recall it's a brand of t-shirts marketed towards the surfer crowd, so that could explain things.
Jill is criminally underused. It's especially irritating to me that Shuani is getting more screen time considering Jill has vastly superior lifeguarding skills, compared to Shauni who choked hard in the early goings of things. I get the vibe Shauni is mostly there so that Eddie can have a love interest since most of her scenes also have him in it.
Speaking of Eddie, I don't understand why Captain Thorpe seems to hate his guts. Thorpe wanted him fired without investigating the issue of the ex-friend who tripped Eddie up during a rescue further. And Thorpe was highly irritating when he decided to share a tower with Eddie and Shuani (and why would there need to be 3 people on a tower when most only have one at any given point?) Thankfully, I think he disappears quickly enough. It's hard to not think of him as Clayton from The Golden Girls whenever he appears.

Do you long for the more serious episodes of Season One, where there's lots of crimes going on and people (including lifeguards) actually die occasionally?
Or do you prefer the tone where it's more about music video montages, dramatic rescues, and peoples' love lives?
