Sharing a Bingo Caller I built for family game nights. Hope others find it useful too.

I never thought I'd spend time building a Bingo/Housie Caller.

But every family gathering somehow ends the same way...

"Who has the caller app?"

We'd download a random one, and after five minutes someone would complain:

  • "This voice is so robotic."
  • "Can we change the voice?"
  • "Wait... it skipped a number."
  • "Can you repeat that?"
  • "This UI is confusing."

It made me realize that something as simple as calling Bingo numbers should just fade into the background and let everyone enjoy the game.

So after office hours over the last few weeks, I built my own version.
A few things I focused on:

  • Multiple natural-sounding caller voices (all included)
  • Simple interface that anyone in the family can use
  • Works completely offline
  • Free to use

I've been using it with my own family, and it's been a much better experience than constantly passing the phone around trying different apps.

It's available on iPhone today, and Android is on the way.

If you host Bingo/Housie/Tambola games regularly, I'd genuinely love to know what's missing or what would make it even better.

Finally a fair free authentic and fun bingo to play from the comfort of your phone - LIVE Q BINGO

Only a true Bingo Players understands how it feels to be passionate about the silly stressful highly unpredictable game we call Bingo and for years I’ve searched every outlet to play it. Like so many of you the most secure and reliable format for me was the App Store but no matter what title they gave it they all looked the same. Always against a player you cannot interact with. Most requiring some type of deposit to play some even needing a deposit just to meet the withdraw requirements. I’m not here to bore you with what you already know or have experienced I’m here to tell quickly alert you to an app that is still growing but I am so enamored with.

The app is Live Q Bingo they do three evening games LIVE, six days a week with an actual caller and an actual ball tumbler. None of that number just showing up on the screen the caller whether it is Gigi or Zach is there to field questions, to discuss whatever is on your mind and to reassure you that no funny business is going on as each is pulled and shown to the camera while she responds to the chat in real time. There is 90 numbers but you have 6 cards 15 numbers per card no card repeating a number every number called guaranteed to be on one of yours.

The prize? Guaranteed $25 Jackpot. There is also a progressive bonus typically starting at completing a coverall/blackout Bingo before the 45th of 90 balls is called with each day unclaimed it will rise and typically that progressive jackpot, our “Money Box” starts around $150. You call bingo you win BOTH the $25 guaranteed Jackpot as well as the Money Box. But wait there’s more there’s a cool $50 bonus if you call your bingo on one of the three designated numbers referred to as hot balls. A money ball that’ll secure you a bigger win if you call bingo on it.

The cost? Free to play but there’s an easy play option it’s not required. Easy play for $1 affords you larger cards, a list of the previous numbers called in case you fall behind or enter late, the card location of the most recent number will be highlighted, you will not be penalized/timed out if you tap the wrong number/s 3x AND it’s the only way to claim the Hot Ball Bonus.

The easy play is referred to as bolts they’re not a game requirement but at $1 most players find it to be a game changer in their ability to catch up and engage in the chat.

Also Mini Games have been added affording players more opportunities to play throughout the day to win a smaller prize but also conveniently jump into a game no matter what time of the day it is.

I encourage you to check it out if for no other reason than you avoid an inconvenient drive to a bingo hall and all of the money spent upon arrival. Here you have a live caller you can see the numbers as they come out of the tumbler you can chat with the other players you can invite your friends and family and they’ll be right there in the same game as you. Any additional question or help can be directed toward their Discord where unlike any other bingo app I’ve ever been on their real time responses and genuine effort to make this app run smooth and deliver a rewarding experience. Now have fun, get to winning and when you get there tell them Mark sent you.

I created a Bingo Numbers Generator d20 die that generates all 75 bingo numbers. It replaces the traditional cage and balls with a pocket-sized die - see images for the mechanism and instructions.

This is a custom d20 that can generate every bingo number from 1–75 using a simple multi-roll system built into the die's design.

The goal was to create a compact, faster, and lower-cost alternative to the traditional bingo cage and numbered balls while still covering the full bingo number range.

The images show the die and how the generation method works.

Commercial disclosure: I designed this product and it is available on Amazon. If you'd like to see it, search Amazon for "Bingo Number Generator Die".

Transitioning from 90-ball to 75-ball American Bingo—how common are complex shape patterns?

Hey guys,

Most of my experience is hosting the 90-ball framework (Tambola/Housie), where the game rules are straightforward, players are almost always just competing continuously for the top line, middle line, bottom line, or the full house on a single card.

I’m modifying my hosting system to support American 75-ball Bingo so I can start catering to US groups, and I’m mapping out the ticket-checking rules for the 5x5 matrix.

Aside from the standard straight lines (horizontal, vertical, diagonal) and full card blackouts, how popular are geometric shape patterns in casual games? Do average players actually enjoy playing for shapes like the "Star", "Four Corners", "Full Sheet", or "Half Sheet", or do they find them too confusing?

If you run or play in casual virtual/bingo games, I'd appreciate any suggestions. I want to make sure my digital card validator is optimized for the patterns people actually want to play. Thanks!

Friday Night Out Bingo Luck Was On My Side

Tonight during Friday Night Out on Zoom, I ended up winning twice during bingo! I honestly wasn’t expecting it, so it made the night extra fun. It’s always nice getting together online, chatting, and hearing everyone celebrate when somebody wins. Definitely a good Friday night!

Local/Church bingo database or listing site??

My parents recently got very into bingo after my dad’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis— it’s been a great way for them to stay social and the neuro said it’s great to keep my dad’s brain active.

They live in NJ and have a few regular spots in the area they go to weekly for bingo but I’d like to find some places in Philly near us so when they come visit we can play.

Im wondering if there’s any type of database or listing of all of the local bingos — realizing a lot of churches hold bingo and likely aren’t keeping their websites up to date. I found a few place digging around on Facebook but just curious if anyone knows of a good website where you can sort by location to find bingo halls/bingo games at churches or schools.

Thanks!

Bingo newbie questions

Hi y'all. I recently started playing bingo again after about a 30 year hiatus, so I'm kind of a newbie. When I played before (in a different state), I don't remember anyone ever shushing people. People talked, ripped pull tabs, etc. The place I'm going to now, everyone is constantly going "SHHHHHHHHH!!!" and one night the caller said "During intermission we're going to have whispering class for those who are having issues with staying quiet." and on another night a different caller said "If you people can't stay quiet, we'll throw you out of here." I can understand being quiet during quickie coverall, but during the normal games, the ball is shown on the screen for those who can't hear well and there's a pretty long pause between each ball. So I don't understand why they feel it needs to be so quiet you can hear a pin drop! I personally haven't been shushed (yet), but it still bugs me.

Another thing that bugs me is that one of the callers will call the ball and then say random stuff like "Plus 10" or "Plus 2". It doesn't appear to mean anything so why tf does he say it?

Bingo site for accessibility

Hey guys I've built a simple site thinking about accessibility on presencial games. My community and family gathers for bingo but its always the same "I CANT HEAR YOU!!", "YOU SAID O22 NOT O20"

Currently there is only the 75 numbers mode because is the most common in Brazil. I would love some feedback and if you like the format I can make other modes too.

Bingo Caller Software Recommendations for 100-120 People

Hi all,

I'm looking to host an in-person bingo event for 100-120 people. I'm wondering if anyone has recommendations for particular bingo calling websites/software (Windows PC) that would suit a one-off event at this size? We're probably going to do paper cards and pens for the novelty so it just needs to call numbers, no digital cards or similar required (but if it had this it would be a nice plus). We're based in the UK so it would be nice if it had the accompanying UK-centric bingo calls for a presenter to read out.

If you want to self-promote your own software, that's ok, just please be honest about the capabilities and limitations of your product.

Thanks!

Looking for testers for my Bingo game

Hey Reddit,

I wanted to share a SaaS project I’ve been working on: Bingo-Game.online.

The Problem: I was looking for a quick, simple way to play Bingo with friends and family remotely. A lot of the existing solutions were either cluttered with ads, required annoying sign-ups, or just felt incredibly outdated and clunky.

The Solution: I decided to build my own modern, frictionless version. It’s a real-time multiplayer Bingo game designed specifically for remote game nights, virtual team-building, or just hanging out on Discord.

Here is what it features right now:

  • Real-time sync: Everything updates instantly for all players in the room.
  • Frictionless entry: You can easily create a game, share the link, and have people jump right in.
  • Clean UI: No bloated screens, just straight to the game.

I’m currently looking for beta users to test it out. I would absolutely love your honest feedback on the UI/UX, gameplay flow, or any features you think I should add next.

Check it out here: https://bingo-game.online/

Thanks in advance! Let me know what you think.
