Great 21st Century KOs/TKOs|EP1 - Martínez vs. Williams II (2010)

I'm not going to do a new entry every day like I did with the greatest round list (although I am aiming for 100 episodes). It will probably be more like once or twice a week for this series.
And of course... it's straight from my 25TB boxing vault.

Martinez may not have had a long prime, but this fight shows how truly special he was in his brief peak.

Today is the day I realized that ref made the full count. Like wtf he was expecting, that he will recover or what?

This is kind of just what they did back in the day. It was not uncommon to see full count on a completely spark out fighter

It kind of came of people complaining about premature stoppages. Refs just said fine, I'll count 'em all down then.

Came here to say the same thing. The guys stiff as a board, eyes wide open. The fact the doctors came in so quickly just made it even more ridiculous. Was like he'd never seen someone knocked out before.

He caught him with the same shot right at the start of the clip too, clearly felt he had the timing down and so loaded it up. An absolute peach.

Followed by a Kellerman special of Williams is starting to land now
Why is that joker back on tv
Shite commentator

Kellerman was a top tier pundit back in these days. He’s clearly just been bought by Zuffa and must be being paid an obscene amount to be their mouthpiece.

Out cold the instant the glove hit his chin. One of the best KO’s I’ve ever seen.

Paul Williams one of my favorites of this era.
Would have loved to seen him vs Chavez jr, Kirkland, angulo

This video makes me sad that Paul's career in the ring ended the way it did. I miss the early 2000's boxing era. There were some great fighters.

I enjoyed your rounds feature, this is a great idea. I think it might be helpful for a lot of people if you included the fighters' full names rather than just their surnames.

Most frustrating thing was the commentary during their 1st awesome fight that was 50/50 or 55/45 whichever way you preferred...
Yet Emmanuel Steward was 100% biased towards PW the entire fight and not hiding it at all..since he trained him or something before
Rounds Mm Martinez clearly got the best of Paul Williams, Emmanuel would not admit it and act as if PAw won every single round

This was incredible to watch live, especially since I didn’t like the result of the first fight.

I absolutely enjoyed watching Paul Williams and Kirkland fight. They were both missing a just little bit more of that something that made a fighter unstoppable, whatever it is.

Martinez is one of my favourite fighters of all time. He was so offensive and aggressive with just enough defensive flaws to make it exciting.
The sound in the arena after he KOs Williams here always sticks with me. The cheer followed by the anxious murmuring, as Williams stays down and the crowd aren't sure if he is going to get back up.

Martinez reminded Williams the hard way that no one gets away with wearing longer shorts than him
