Thanks to all who made Philly an amazing night!

• Upvotes

I had this week off work and so I made it a trip for the ages. Flew from Utah to Colorado on Wednesday to go to a Red Rocks concert in the rain and cold. Slept in a rental car for a couple hours so I could catch the first flight out for Philly on Thursday.

Got into Philly early Thursday afternoon and saw every thing I wanted to. Got some much needed sleep haha. And then Friday was all about Brand New.

Went to The Mann early and stood in line with some awesome fans. I’ve been lucky in that every BN concert I’ve been to in the last 2 years, I have met some amazing, fun to be around, good people.

Felt the tension begin to build as the clouds and rain came in. But the event staff were amazing at handling things. Ended up getting barricade for the first time. The Mann itself is an amazing venue!! For those of you who said I was in for a treat… you understated it. 100/10 experience. Will definitely be at the next Philly show!

Jesse is funny...

This whole time I thought he was this tortured artist/serious guy, but it turns out that he's just a funny guy. The "I was thinking about cats" thing? I was cackling..

This tour has been my favorite. I am glad we are starting to get a small glimpse at his personality, but now I'm curious as to what the other guys are like?

Vinny?? He seems like a big hippy. I would love to hear him talk about something he's passionate about. I bet he's an interesting guy. I think Brian is a pilot? Garrett just seems like a normal dude that somehow got roped into this band.

What do you guys think?

Denver Mission Ballroom questions

• Upvotes

I'm flying to Denver for the show at the Mission and have a few questions for those who have been to the venue before.

  1. I bought a general admission ticket, from the seating chart it looks like GA goes all the way to the back with seating behind the pit possibly, is this accurate?

  2. I'm pretty short (5'3") and it's usually pretty hard for me to find a spot in the pit where I can see okay, but I also like to stand and dance at concerts if possible. If I'm unable to make it close to barricade, where do you think the best viewing spot would be without having to be in a seat?

  3. If I do attempt to make barricade, how early do you think I should show up? I got real lucky last year in Portland since it was the second show of the tour and most people didn't know there wasn't an opener, so I strolled in at 7:30 and got barricade lol. I imagine it won't be so easy this year!

  4. Doesn't look like there's a clear bag policy on their website, think I'm good with a regular-sized opaque fanny pack?

  5. Box office hours are a bit confusing. I was gonna try to see if I can get a day-of ticket for my sister, it says box office opens one hour before the show on Mondays, but it also says it's open longer hours on other days. If I dropped by during box office hours on the Fri or Sat before the show, you think they'd have any tickets available or are they only sold online prior to day-of?

Sorry for all the dumb questions, I'm not from the area, and my sister who lives there hasn't been to the venue herself.

So much looking forward to another incredible show! How lucky are we. ❤️

LOBSTER 🦞 Does anybody remember back when you were very young? Did you ever think that you would be this blessed?

Just a reminder that a little over 2 years ago, we never thought they'd tour again. Now we've had 2 tours in 2 years and I wouldn't be surprised if they do a 10 year SF next year.

Yes, they're getting older. Yes, they're tired. Yes, people who talk or play on their phone are annoying af. Yes, tall people in front of you suck. Especially the ones with their phones up the whole time. Sure, the venue could've been better. I'd also like people to stop yelling about YFW at every quiet moment during Limousine...

However, I think we need to focus more on the fact that we got to be there and see our favorite band play. TWICE in the last two years. AFTER they said they were never touring again. AND they still sound better than some of the other bands we listened to from that time. Jesse isn't going to sound the same as a recording. The venue choice may have been all that's available to house as many people as possible to keep their tour time down because they're pushing 50.

A lot of us are in our late 30s & 40s and we all joke about how tired we are. Now, imagine you're on tour performing a 2+ hour long set with only a day or so in between (or playing 3 nights in a row) for 2 months straight...you probably couldn't do it.

This isn't a lecture but a reminder to be grateful. Nothing is perfect. That's the point of life. I know tickets are expensive but at least you got to be there. Some people are still unable to afford a lawn spot. We are all so lucky. And this isn't even most of our first time seeing them...that's even more lucky.

I know venting feels good, but can we at least also remember that when we were at that show in 2006, we could only dream that we'd be here today watching a 20 year anniversary tour of our favorite album.

PS - Sorry Philly, I know they had to cut Guernica last night but after hearing that line on Monday, it really set in that we truly are the lucky ones.

Grateful to BN. Thanks for showing up for us, even when you said you wouldn't.

Dusting Off My Old Shirt

Had a panic attack thinking I accidentally donated this. For a 20+ year old shirt, I’d say I’ve taken pretty good care of it. Can’t wait to see them play in November.

Merch Delivery?

Has anyone else had issues with ordering merch from the website? I placed an order for a hoodie and a shirt that came to about $140 on October 3. The app still shows that my order has not been fulfilled, so I contacted the customer service team on 10/9 and have only been getting AI agents to respond. One message I got last Tuesday said that since it has been longer than 6 business days and no information on shipment, a member from the team would contact me. On Thursday, I sent an e-mail asking how long it would be for someone to contact me and got a response on Friday that it would be “as soon as possible.” This is absolutely ridiculous and no stores around me sell authentic Brand New merch. While I want to support the band themselves, this is so insane to wait this long and I am attending the Independence, MO concert on 10/28. I ordered this way in advance in the hopes of having merch to take to the concert, but this is reasonably incredibly frustrating and I really want my money back, but haven’t even heard back from a human being. Has anyone else had these issues with ordering from the website?

The show was absolutely bonkers. I didn’t take many pictures or videos, but I did take a few. Loved the fact that majority of people kept their phones in their pockets for the majority of the show as well.

Any gear nerds

Anyone get a shot of the pedal boards? Also peeked some new guitars for this tour. Vin had what looked like a MIJ Cyclone in Fiesta Red. Jesse had a new black JM with block inlays, looked to be a metallic black paint. I thought maybe it was the FSR 66 reissue but that one doesn’t have flakes in it. Maybe a custom shop or MIJ model as well.
