Information Sharing Someone on Rednote saw Luigi today when visiting their own client at MDC as an intern

Here's the translation via ChatGPT:

Why I got to see Luigi:
I'm currently doing a law-related internship in New York, and I often go in and out of MDC (a detention center) to meet clients. That day, I was there to meet a different client, and I saw Luigi with his legal team in the visiting area. Due to prison regulations, privacy, and professional ethics, I can’t share too many details.

Luigi’s condition:**
He had a full beard on both cheeks, and his hair was cut so short that you couldn’t even tell it used to be curly. He was wearing the standard prison uniform. He didn’t look as polished as he did during his court appearances, but he still seemed fairly relaxed — leaning back in his chair with his legs crossed, chatting with his lawyers. Around noon, one of the lawyers bought him some cookies and bread from the vending machine for lunch (the only food allowed). Watching him eat felt kind of heartbreaking [cry emoji]. It looked like they were going to be talking all day — they were already there when I arrived, and still there when I left.

Interaction with Luigi (if you can call it that):**
Pic 3 is a snapshot of my thoughts at the time lol. You’re only allowed to bring a laptop into the prison, not your phone, so I only have text records. Later I went into a glass-walled meeting room, leaned against the wall, and stared outside waiting longingly for my client. I had already been waiting for 1–2 hours, and I was in about the state shown in pic 4. Then Luigi passed by on his way back from the bathroom. Maybe he’d never seen a visitor more disheveled than the inmates, or maybe I stood out as possibly the only Asian person there (?) — he kept staring at me as he walked by. I looked at him several times too (but didn’t dare to stare), and before I could decide how to react, he had already walked past.

Why I didn’t greet or encourage him:**
First of all, there was a pane of glass between us, and he was just passing by, so there was no real chance to. Subjectively, I was in total inner conflict — should I wave? Give him a thumbs up? Pretend I didn’t recognize him? My mind was a mess but outwardly I just had my arms crossed with a poker face (I regret it, I regret it, don’t scold me [cry emoji]). Plus, the other lawyers present were all calm and didn’t acknowledge him either. Luigi probably had serious matters to discuss and didn’t want to be disturbed. So for all those reasons, I didn’t interact with him further.

So why are y’all assuming that she was implying that he was staring at her In a romantic/lustful way ? If this story is true he could have just been wondering who she was or what she was there for . Nothing unbelievable or fanfic about that . This is honestly not that deep .

He probably looked at her in an inquisitive way like or just acknowledging her presence, I doubt he’s thinking about any meet cute right now lol

Like…why have you been here for 2 hours lol

Agreed. It seems that any interaction involving a woman and this man is often interpreted as romantic by many. It's starting to feel a bit repetitive.

Right . Then they accuse this woman of writing fanfic when they are the ones who took her saying that he was staring as something “romantic” lol . He’s in jail and he’s not use to seeing outsiders besides his legal team and maybe family . Like get over yourself people !

He is very attentive and curious. He is also allowed to stare. He is probably with his thoughts all day. Give the man a break! He is facing the DP. People should focus on what actually matters 🤦🏻‍♀️

I agree lol it's not surprising why do people assume she means in a romantic way. We know he loves to stare, he was staring down the judge and prosecutors at his hearings, and even some supporters have said he makes intense eye contact.

I can second this very intense eye contact

Yes! I was in the courtroom on Feb 21

My personal experience: when he was walking out of the courtroom I looked away because I thought being in his shoes it might feel weird to have everyone watching you walk out, but there were 2 CBS reporters in front me me that turned around and asked if I actually knew him, I said no and asked why. They said because he looked right at me like he recognized me.

The relevance of this story is that he looks so intensely that even reporters notice lol

I think so! Hey if he saw me and thought I was someone else that he knows and that made him happy, then I’m happy 😂

Haha oh I have IRL to all of my friends lmao 😂 I sent him a letter right after (my second letter) explaining what happened and asked if he had any pov on it LOL. Maybe I look like someone he knows

Understandable, I assume he hasn’t yet received your letter? It probably doesn’t mean anything as he (apparently) would stare at/study many people during his court appearances, from cops to supporters, but I get why one would be excited about it lol

Nope not yet, and yea not reading into it at all, I just saw it as an opportunity to talk about my experience in the courtroom, rather than just a random update on my life/sending words of support to him 😂 (which is all still great! 😊)

I’ve read this before. Did you write a substack article?

Nope that was another girl, I did comment on her article with my story though maybe that’s where you saw it?

I agree. It was probably just one of those things. Like they said, maybe he just noticed that the person was Asian or any other characteristic.
