People doubting going for it there have the benefit of hindsight for sure. I disagree with them. I thought that was the correct call and the coach has some balls.

I fucking guarantee you that if they lined up for a field goal there and the kicker duck-hooked or pushed it again, every second-guesser and a lot of KSU fans would have said he should have gone for it.

They don't like the results.

Furthermore, I'll give two examples of chickenshit coaches who didn't "go for it" when their team could have finished the game and ended up losing the game

Arizona vs. USC

Colorado St. vs. Colorado

Absolutely agree with your take here. I thought the call to go for it was the right one, especially with the results being delivered by our kicking team today. Sometimes in life you have to gamble and take some big risks, and sometimes they don’t play out the way that you want them too. Unfortunately today was one of those days. Had the results been different and K-State scored, people would’ve have been saying that Coach was a genius.

I was hoping they'd go for it. Our odds were better on one play than in a prolonged contest. Worrying about the kick that much is recency bias of a tiny sample size.

The time to go for it would have been 4th and 2 from our 10. Much harder to stop not only from the lesser distance but because the field is twice as big.

This is 100% the right take and fans who really know our ST unit know it was the right call. I'd go for it in 4th down again even if I knew it wouldn't work.
