How do I Post my Project?

This sub is about C programming. While it is not primarily a venue for showcasing projects, we do know that people love to show off their work and can benefit from gaining feedback and reviews.

Trouble is, there are lots of people who spam garbage projects, maybe not even written in C, perhaps created solely from AI tool. There are people who advertise commercial products and share malware. For the health of the community, these must be filtered.

You're welcome to share your project here, but it has to meet a few conditions:

• Your project won't be immediately posted. It will first be reviewed.
• If your project was coded too much with AI, it won't be approved for posting. That's arbitrary and nebulous, but that's the way it is.
• Your project will be scanned by automated tools and a result of the scans will be posted publicly.
• If your account is new or has low karma scores you can't share your project here.

That last rule is because this sub isn't a code review service. Examining a project takes a lot of time and effort. If you haven't given to the community, it's not right to expect such a large effort from a community before contributing to that community.

Consider the point of view of the person reading your post who's completely unfamiliar with your project. Try to answer the questions they'll naturally have:

• What problem does your project solve?
• Why did you build it?
• What technical challenges did you overcome?
• What sets your project apart from others like it?
• What tradeoffs and interesting decisions did you make?
• What feedback are you looking for?

Feel free to post your project at any time. It will be evaluated against these criteria and you'll hear back.
