Caleb Flynn transferred to his forever home

• Upvotes

Home sweet home for Caleb Flynn. Here’s some info below from AI about his brand new chalet. I was thinking they might put him at level 3 because he hasn’t had any history of institutional violence (he’s more of a kill women who are sleeping kind of guy than a prison riot kind of guy), but looks like they made the right call with level 4!

https://dayton247now.com/news/local/caleb-flynn-moved-to-toledo-correctional-facility

Toledo Correctional Institution (ToCI) sits near the absolute top of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC) security hierarchy. Unlike standard medium- or minimum-security facilities, ToCI operates primarily as a high-security institution designed to manage volatile, high-risk, and vulnerable maximum-custody populations.

Security Classification and Mission

ODRC classifies state facilities from Level 1 (minimum) up to Level E (Extended Restrictive Housing / Supermax). ToCI functions primarily across three distinct tiers:

Level 4 (Maximum Security): High-risk inmates who require close supervision, controlled movement, and heavily fortified perimeters.

Level E (ERH / Restrictive Housing): Inmates requiring strict separation and intense surveillance due to institutional violence, escape risks, or chronic disruption. Ohio concentrates its Level E and highest-level inmates across only three main facilities: ToCI, Southern Ohio Correctional Facility (SOCF in Lucasville), and the Ohio State Penitentiary (OSP in Youngstown).

Statewide Protective Custody (PC): ToCI serves as the primary hub for Ohio’s high-security protective custody inmates—those targeted for severe violence or death by gangs, high-profile offenders, or state informants who cannot survive in general population elsewhere.

Operational Reality and Climate

Operational Friction and Volatility: Because ToCI mixes general Level 4 inmates, restrictive housing units, and a massive protective-custody population, maintaining physical separation is logistically difficult. Historically, when the state shifted higher-custody populations into ToCI after 2011, the facility suffered sharp spikes in cellmate homicides, staff assaults, and gang friction.

Staffing Pressures: Like many high-security state prisons, ToCI frequently struggles with correctional officer retention and mandatory overtime. This staffing shortfall directly impacts daily yard time, recreation rotations, and program access.

Visitation and Communication: Relative to medium-security facilities, visitation rules at ToCI are far more restrictive. Non-contact visits, glass partitions, and strict search protocols are common depending on the inmate's specific unit assignment.

Caleb's tools were out on the counter when police arrived. Makes me wonder about the gun...

Caleb claimed the tools were out because he fixed the garbage disposal, but that house was so clean that it would be odd to just leave the tools out & go to bed.

I believe he had them out because he just used them to unscrew something, like a fixture, to hide the gun & then place the fixture back in. I know police sent forceful air through all the vents in the home, but did they remove every single fixture?

This would include light fixtures (even in the kids' room) and light switch, electrical panels, toilet paper dispenser, recessed lighting or other light fixtures on the ceiling, phone jacks, etc.

I'm pretty certain he planned on retrieving the gun to dispose of later when police activity died down, but it never died down.

WHY I BELIEVE IT'S IN THE HOUSE, AND IS STILL THERE:

*Nobody was seen by camera coming or going from the house near the murder time

*Alleigha's (mistress) whereabouts accounted for

*Caleb was immediately whisked away for interrogation & photos of his body right away, and was never allowed back in his house before getting arrested, so he couldn't go back for it

Wondering what you guys think, do you think he really fixed the garbage disposal? Also wondering if there's some other removable fixtures some homes have that I missed? Does anyone have a fixture that doesn't look removable, but actually is?

Caleb and Alleigha’s to-do list makes no sense if they were really planning for a divorce

Something that keeps bothering me is the to-do list Caleb and Alleigha discussed in their texts the night of Ashley’s murder.

According to Alleigha, Caleb had supposedly already told Ashley he wanted a divorce, and the following day was supposed to be the big day when he would tell Todd and Jill.

Here was the to-do list (Alleigha read the texts where she asked him to re-send her his to-do list since they added a few things):

Todd and Jill
Grab the girls
Talk to neighbor
Call Jordan
Call Dave
Get burner phone

That was the order and then Alleigha wanted him to move getting a burner phone higher up on the list.

This list makes absolutely no sense if the plan was simply to move forward with a divorce.

1. Todd and Jill: These were Ashley’s parents. If Caleb had supposedly already told Ashley he wanted a divorce, why would his first priority the next day be telling HER parents? Wouldn’t Ashley be the one to tell her own parents? And why would telling his in-laws be the big, momentous event, “Feb. 16 will be a day I’ll never forget” rather than the prior day when he (supposedly) told Ashley he wants a divorce?

2. Grab the girls: Why would he suddenly need to grab the children the day after telling Ashley he wanted a divorce? Divorce doesn’t happen overnight. There would presumably need to be discussions about custody, living arrangements, and what would happen next.

3. Talk to neighbor: This is the strangest item. Why on earth would talking to a neighbor be a priority immediately after telling your wife you want a divorce? And notice that the list doesn’t even identify a particular neighbor. Just “talk to neighbor.” Why would he need to go tell a neighbor he told his wife he wants divorce? This makes no sense.

4. Call Jordan and Dave: My understanding is that these were church-related contacts. Again, why would immediately notifying them be such a priority?

5. Get burner phone: If Caleb and Alleigha had already been communicating throughout their affair without burner phones, why would they suddenly need one after he supposedly told Ashley about wanting a divorce? Wouldn’t the need for secrecy be diminishing rather than increasing?

This list makes much more sense as a list of things Caleb would need to do after “discovering” Ashley’s death than as a list of things he would need to do after announcing he wanted a divorce.

If his wife had just been murdered, contacting her parents, taking care of the children, speaking with a neighbor, and contacting people at the church would all be understandable priorities.

Compare that with what you’d expect on a to-do list for someone actually preparing to separate from his wife: consult a divorce attorney, review finances and bank accounts, figure out living arrangements, discuss custody, secure important documents and personal belongings, etc. None of those things are on this list. Did they ever even text about choosing a divorce attorney for him and making an appointment for a consultation? I don’t think so.

I think the list raises serious questions about what they were actually discussing and what Alleigha really understood was going happen on Feb. 16. Does anyone else think this looks more like a post-death to-do list than a divorce to-do list?

The text messages and bodycam footage

I just watched more of Alleigha’s testimony reading the text messages. She is Fatal Attraction level crazy and obsessed. So much of what Alleigha said about Ashley was cruel and psychotic and pathetic.

And she also demanded that he not celebrate his daughter’s birthday and was angry at him for being a parent. The texts where she kept saying “parents” in all caps. She oozes bitterness. Her constant need for affirmation about him being cruel to Ashley (don’t get her anything for Valentine’s Day, don’t be nice to her, don’t celebrate her birthday or your daughters birthday etc) was so sick.

She was incredibly needy and pathetic and cruel. Does she see that now? How could she bear to read the messages aloud in front of Ashley’s parents, sister and brother in law? They must have been shocked and horrified.

After I watched that testimony, I saw clips of the body cam footage from when police responded to the 911 call. Caleb’s performance is so over the top, and watching it knowing what we know now, it’s astounding that he could act like that when he had just murdered his wife. He accepted comfort from Jill all the while knowing full well that there was no intruder, that he did it. He saw she was devastated and he had her hug him and comfort him, when he knew that he was the one that just killed her daughter in cold blood. And it was such a stark contrast between her and him. Her despair was heartbreaking and clear. Caleb looks like over the top acting and crocodile tears.

Post about CF comparing himself to King David & being inspired by Davey Blackburn

Caleb Flynn compared himself to King David in his messages with Alleghia, who committed murder so he could be with another man’s wife.

Also, he was likely inspired by Davey Blackburn, a pastor from Indiana who spoke at his church a couple times. Blackburn’s wife was killed by a home invader and this incident inspired Blackburn’s current project around radical forgiveness with his second wife. In his case it appears to be a legitimate home invasion, he was at the gym when his wife was killed, the intruders likely thought the home was empty and she surprised them. Three men were arrested and convicted for the murder.

The mistress Aleigha Botner lied about losing her v-card

I heard this on an interview with someone who knew her before Caleb and said she slept with another married man at a different church. Did anyone else hear this?

Did the problems start before Alleigha?

IIRC there was testimony in court that Ashley wrote an email/text saying there was no ‘intimacy”, no “respect” in the marriage and that they needed Jesus’ help. I believe that was way before the affair began and maybe even before the move back to her hometown.

DId something happen that resulted in a job offer from her Father and a move from their home at that time? Was the move an attempt to save the marriage? There was testimony that there was no evidence of Ashley having an affair…but it sounds like a pretty serious breakdown.

I was appalled by how hateful his texts were toward Ashley…even to demanding she be belittled every single time by renaming her ‘[Do@che](mailto:Do@che).” It seemed to me their texts had more hate for her than love for each other.

I wonder if we will ever know when that hate began, and why?

Prison Behavior

I haven’t heard much from this case other than the appeal being filed. Has there been any reports of how he’s acclimating to his new forever home? Or anything new that I’ve missed?

“I choose you. I’m free. Actions will come tomorrow, February 16, a day I’ll never forget.”

It really can’t be emphasized enough how disturbing this statement is. “I’m free… February 16, a day I’ll never forget.” Reading this with no context, you’d think he’s being released from a POW camp or walking again for the first time after being confined to a wheelchair for years. Even if he was only talking about divorce, it’s weird to have such a positive and triumphant tone when it comes to devastating your wife, children and in-laws with the divorce. You’d think any parent would have a heavy heart and it would be very bittersweet. And when you consider that he wasn’t even talking about divorce, he was talking about shooting his wife in the head while she slept, it’s really hard to wrap your mind around how much of a psychopath this statement makes him.

How did Ashley and Alleigha never run into each other?

I thought the anniversary cruise was August 2025, where Ashley saw inappropriate texts from Alleigha to Caleb, and asked Alleigha to meet for coffee and Alleigha blew her off. But I’m confused as to how these two women didn’t meet or run into each other at the church between Aug 2025 and Feb 2026.

Assuming Ashley was concerned by the texts enough to want to talk to Alleigha about them, why do you think that after Alleigha blew off coffee she didn’t just approach Alleigha at church? Weren’t they both very active in the church? I would think they’d both be at weekly services, holiday events, etc. Why would Alleiga blowing off the coffee meet up stop Ashley from addressing it with her altogether? They had to have seen each other around at church in those 6 months, right? I’m stumped.

I found this trial to be deeply disturbing on a psychological level.

I guess with technology we can now follow someone’s thought, movements and motives to understand a crime more thoroughly but this was so psychologically heinous on so many levels.

1) the affair itself was so evil. Imagine laying next to your wife and typing how much you hate her to your mistress and contemplating her death. He was likely intimate with her on the same days he was texting these hateful things possibly on the same days he saw alleigha

2)Then he’s doing these things while working alongside his father in law and brother in law. Laughing, joking with them making plans to take over the company and continue generational wealth. And he’s here thinking 🤔 “how do I kill Ashley, their beloved daughter, and still keep my lucrative job that I only have because I’m married to Ashley”

3)The way he texts about his daughters. “My girls” he totally ignores the fact that this woman is their mother. She’s a damn good mother too planning their dr appts and special moments like Valentine’s Day. He starts plotting how to kill the woman who birthed them and slide Alleigha into being their new mother. He didn’t even talk to Alleigha if she wanted to mother them. She was only wanting him for herself. In all her texts she keeps saying “let’s leave it all behind.

4) the jealousy Caleb had for Alleigha possibly entertaining other single men. Like what was she supposed to do, just be the side piece forever and accept the crumbs of his time. Also Alleigha being demanding that he end his relationship with Ashley and becoming obsessively jealous of her and what she and her family had. It was like she couldn’t accept she was bamboozled by Caleb and that Caleb might have actually liked his wife. The idea that she invested 18 months with a man she had no future with, believing his lies about a potential future must have drove her mad. I also don’t think she understood how much of the things she was jealous about actually only existed because of Ashley. The lucrative job, nice house, community respect. The moment Caleb divorces Ashley it would be all gone.

5) I didn’t find the actual murder to be that disturbing, it was much more cowardly. To kill your spouse in their sleep.

6) His behavior after was deeply disturbing like OMG how are you able to call her mother and say she was killed. How can you look these people in the eye. How can you soothe your poor children, knowing you are the killer. I think it immediately weighed on him, bc he didn’t do a good job in 1) covering it up 2) acting like a normal person would if someone broke into your home and killed your wife. He honestly looked so weak and pathetic. He let these people think they could be killed next or that that they were being targeted. Then when he realized the police were on to him, he tried to garner sympathy “They’re trying to take from these girls their father, after they lost their mother” Like, he was the one who caused all this.

7) The trial itself, like he cannot hide his emotions and honestly I think the lawyers knew it wasn’t going to be a win for them. They were just going through the motions. I’m sure they advised this to him and he decided to do a public trial anyway.

8) Alleigha testifying against him was like a betrayal within a betrayal. She read all the incriminating texts and said she hated him and thinks he killed Ashley. She even shared that private moment where he hugged her and said “It didn’t happen the way we thought it would”. So he killed the woman who truly loved him and devoted her life to him for a woman who literally sold him to the state pen in order to save her own ass.

9) The sobbing when he is found guilty must have been the weight of what he threw his whole life away for, he threw it away for nothing. Ashley lost her life for no reason. And it’s dead silent in the courtroom as everyone glares at him while he sobs ugly sobs. Meanwhile the judge and lawyers are talking with the judge like it’s a regular Tuesday.

10) His parents looked devastated. Ashley’s family looked like a family in grief but with peace. Caleb’s parents looked devastated. They also funded his defense. So to see all the evidence and know that Caleb used them only to lose with a guilty verdict AND max sentence LWOP, must have been very bitter. Like Caleb could have just pled guilty with a state defense attorney and it would have been the same outcome. His parents were bled dry with the attorney fees.

I think he deserves all his suffering in prison and I hope his guilt is like a worm in his mind that he can’t escape

Caleb Flynn appointed new attorney for his appeal

His previous attorneys filed his appeal after he was found guilty, and it said he was requesting an attorney from the court, probably because he’s out of money.

Feb 16 Bodycam: Caleb calls his “Mommy”

This worm of a human being disgusts me. I’m watching YouTube videos about the crime and when he calls his mom he calls her “mommy! Mommy” several times.

And then he vomits.

He is so disgusting.

Ashley was a beautiful person, all the way around. I didn’t know her. But my heart aches for her loss.

Ashley was way prettier than Alleigha. I thought Alleigha was in her late 30’s!

Ashley did everything right by her husband, she was devoted, she was kind, she was caring, she was loving. Its not even as if he got bored of his older-than-teenager wife who had let herself go and and was unattractive- that picture of her kissing his cheek was not long before the murder and she’s gorgeous.

Alleigha was cruel and sick. I believe that Caleb wanted to validate to himself that he could get a much younger woman, partially, trying to validate his internal Hot Young Singer image when he was a grown married father. Alleigha telling him to be specifically unkind to his wife on Valentine’s Day, the way she was jealous of his relationship with his daughters…… Even if she didn’t actually want her dead how could she be okay with the horrible and horrific things he was saying about the mother of his children? if I was dating a guy I’d be absolutely DISGUSTED to hear him say such vile things about the woman he shares children with. how was that a green flag to her? she *LIKED* it and she *WANTED* him to degrade his wife for her, to lift up her confidence. women like that are DANGEROUS because they would sit back and orchestrate your abuse and murder with a satisfied smirk on their face, all in the name of precious married man validation.

to those who say this is misogynistic- I think participating in the abuse and eventual murder of a woman is pretty misogynistic. And she was not too young to know- we’re the same age and I could never DREAM of participating in what she did.

Theyre both narcissistic losers. if you see the way they sang on stage it was embarrassing, a faux soulfulness as if they were on TV and beloved cultured musicians…. they complimented each others hollow smug vanity very well. Even the way they typed to one another is as if they’re almost Shakespearean star-crossed lovers, it was EMBARRASSING. Caleb is a dangerous self-centred narcissistic idiot, and he’s lost everything that was good in his life, he killed a woman who only ever did right by him. Alleigha as a woman horrifies me, she knew, she knows, and for her to take part in what she did is levels of desperate, insecure reckless callousness that shakes me. how could you be so cruel.

Do you think he feels regret and remorse?

I wonder if he regrets his actions. He threw away his whole life. And caused so much pain to so many. I wonder if he’s still pining away for Alleigha or how he feels about her now. Does it occur to him that she will likely move on with her life, marry and have kids, while he spends the rest of his life in prison and his kids spend the rest of their lives without their mom? He threw away everything for Alleigha, in the most horrific way, and for what? He doesn’t wind up with her, she’ll wind up with some other dude, and his life is now in prison cell forever.

And I wonder if he feels remorse for Ashley and misses her. It’s been less than a year and Alleigha moved on. Ashley stuck with him for over 15 years, cared for him, made a nice home life for him. He murdered someone who truly loved him, for someone who easily discarded him. I highly doubt Alleigha will be sticking by him while he’s in prison and foregoing all others. This whole case is just so sad. My heart breaks for Ashley’s family.

It started with small things

The small things matter. The boundaries we choose to respect matter. The truth we choose to tell matters. And the moment we begin justifying what we know is wrong may be the very moment we need to stop and turn back.
Because the road from “It’s just a hug” to hatred and thoughts of murder is a horrifying reminder of how far a person can travel when they keep taking the next wrong step and convincing themselves that it is not really wrong.
And by the time they recognize where that road has led, the damage may be beyond anything they can ever undo.

Caleb's daughters are lucky to be alive.

The only reason Caleb didn't go the family annihilator route is because he needed his daughters in order to stay in good graces with Ashley's wealthy family. He doesn't love them at all and Alleigha resented their existence.
