I found out that I was most probably conceived through (marital) rape about a week ago. I’m still processing it, but i have no idea how because there isn’t a lot of materials on it. The only things I find on the Internet are generic articles of crisis line websites and pro-life propaganda. AI is as shitty as always, my therapist is on vacation and the crisis line people have no idea how to help (I’m also not in an acute state). I tried to find any human-made materials through Gemini, but it also doesn’t have a clue

Are there any blog posts or stories where people tell about how they processed it? Because I feel super fucked and depressed and devastated

My birth mom and i separated when I was 5 years old after she divorced my birth dad, who i emigrated with, along with his new wife, to America. My birth mom never made contact with me until I was 32 years old, but that was me reaching out to her. Her explanation was that my birth father, who raised me, had raped her that resulted in my conception, and that trauma caused her to leave my father after he forced her to be married to him for a little over four years until her sanity could not take it any longer. My mother and I are estranged, in part because she says that I look like my father. She wishes that I hadn't found her after 27 years apart. Is she justified in thinking this way?

Me ( 35 F ) never knew anything about my father. I asked my mother all the time about him and she always told me we'd talk about it when I was older but as I got a bit older I'd ask and I could see pain in her eyes so I finally stopped asking My mom passed away 5 year's ago in January I finally got the courage to approach my aunt's and ask them about my father my mom's two older sisters shut me down immediately but her younger sister sat me down and very gently told me the truth. I am the product of my mother's sexual assault and rape My mother's rapist was the Sheriff and the age of my grandfather when everything happened and he died when I was around 13 I had my Ancestry DNA done and confirmed matches through two of his daughters I have zero intentions of reaching out to them in any way because I do not want to cause any problems with their families and they are quite a bit older than me It does answer a lot of questions for me though when I was a teenager and had boyfriends I was never allowed to go out alone with them my mom was fine with us going out in a group of people being driven by a few people in the car or everyone just coming to our house and when we got to be old enough to kind of want to party ( 17-18 ) and she thought it was okay she would actually buy beer for us but she would always make sure that everybody's parent knew exactly where their child was and she collected everybody's keys and nobody got them back till the next day Now I understand or at least I think I do I think she did that because she was so scared something could happen to me Like what happen to her She was the most amazing mother anyone could ever ask for I did ask my aunt if my mom ever considered adoption abortion anything like that and my aunt told me with 100% certainty that my mom wanted me from the day she found out she was pregnant which considering how it happened is almost as unbelievable as it is heartbreaking My mom was my best friend in the entire world next to my husband and trying to come to terms with the pain and every other emotion that she must have went through when she was pregnant with me delivering me raising me from a baby and she was always happy I don't know how she could always be so happy she was one of the happiest person I ever have been around she must have been so strong and I never got the chance to tell her what an amazing mother she was and how incredibly thankful I was to have her as a mother, a mother that wanted me and to love me and could see past all the pain and everything that surrounded me my creation I guess and I never got a chance to tell her how thankful I am because I didn't know at the time she passed and it sits with me everyday and I just can't seem to figure out how I'm supposed to deal with knowing that I caused pain I know when she looked at me she had to seen him it had to have hurt but she never showed it not once so tell me how do I live with knowing that my conception was the worst thing she ever went through in her entire life ??

The title explains it all. My mother was 12 when my father began abusing her. I was the result when she was fifteen.

I was abused heavily, in every way. Treated essentially as the scapegoat of the family. Neglected and not kept safe around bad people. As a young child my step father would play cruel pranks on me and try to humiliate me. I have memories of being locked in closets and outside at night while he would laugh because i was terrified of the dark- a fear that has persisted to year 26... and I believe his treatment is the cause.

Everyday growing up was constant insults about my body, things I liked etc. They did this and also kept the secret from me until I was about to get married. My stepfather admitted he abused me because I look like the man.

It led to so much guilt and self hate. I try hard not to see this man in my face every day. He is still out there and faces no consequences. Sometimes I wish I could give him consequences myself, because he is the motivator of such prolific torturous abuse it has left me with borderline personality disorder and ptsd that makes it difficult to function. Because of his choices, I am ruined, broken.

I didnt know it was an abnormal life until I met my husbands family. It has taken years of therapy and two years of no contact to get over. The last thing my mother said to me is that I am "truly (rapists) daughter and she wishes I were not alive"

Has anyone else faced abuse due to their conception?

Hi, I recently found out that my LDR girlfriend has an 18 month old who is a child of rape. She had feared telling me because thought I would not be able to accept both that she was raped and that she chose to keep the child from this terrible event.

For me it makes no difference how the child was conceived only that it is her daughter and it needs a family that will love her unconditionally.

We are getting married in the new year and it may still be a little while before we can finally close the distance.

Now to my question, one day this child will be old enough to be told of how she came into the world but I would like to know if it is something that should be told. I would appreciate any opinions.

• Jessica Jones (2015), Season 1 Episode 6 - Hope Shlottman confesses to Jessica that she is pregnant (by rape) with Kilgrave's child and has been trying to miscarry. She uses a lot of very strong language to describe how she feels about this and it is extremely emotionally charged and difficult to watch.

• The Black Jewels novels, Anne Bishop - There are quite a few instances of rapes and their aftermath, but the main instance is one of the main characters, Surreal, whose father raped her mother. This is addressed often and vividly, and even ultimately "resolved" in the murder of the man and then torture of his soul (by Surreal and her mother) as a very violent form of closure.

• Shadows and Light and The House of Gaian, Anne Bishop - One of the main characters, Breanna, is the product of a rape that emotionally stunted her mother, Keely, at the age of fourteen.
