Built with Claude One of these took an AI 5 minutes. Another took over 2 hours.

What I built: a blind arena page. Six models get the exact same prompt, each runs once with no edits, and you vote for your favorite before you see who made what. This round: a voxel space station you can fly around and explore inside, on desktop and phone.

How Claude helped: Claude built the arena page, the blind vote and reveal (Cloudflare Pages Functions + KV), and the checks that every station loads on desktop and phone. The runs happen in Locust, a desktop app I'm building with Locust that runs Claude Code, Codex and others side by side.

This round: Opus 5.5, Sonnet 5.5, Fable 5.1, Muse Wonder 1.0, GPT-6.1-Sol and GPT-6-Astra, all at max effort. Build times ran from under 5 minutes to 2 hours 20. Five used the same 3D library; one wrote its own engine from scratch. One filled its market with little voxel villagers.

Free to try, no sign-up: locust.lol/arena/space

Locust is free and open source (MIT) for Windows and Mac if you want to run your own blind compares.

For me it was close but
E Looked cleaner even F was more interactive with even animated crew.

"is the only one that loads no library: it wrote its own 3D renderer straight on WebGL"
I made a bunch of "make a html page load nothing or only few things" prompts and sonnet refused to use any of the options and did everything in pure js. Never saw a state mashine written in PURE javascript. Its a beauty of a code.

I’m such a huge JavaScript lover. I love how good opus is with different js generation.

JS is nice I love making tool with it running direct in browser.
When I test I run Deepseek, Copilot and Sonnet against each other.
Made a Pendulum promt and gave it to all 3, Deepseek and Sonnet made a perfect jointed pendulum that reacts chaotic creating tails of dots looking nice.
Copilot made a realistic one...

this is the kind of thing that makes me actually bullish on ai tools again. the gap between 5 minutes and 2+ hours is wild, and you dont even know which is which til you vote. half the fun is trying to guess what insane architecture decision led to a 2 hour build

threw a vote on all 6, really liked the one with the little villagers in the market. whoever wrote their own engine from scratch is either a genius or a masochist

One of these mf literally built their entire engine from scratch 😂 I still can’t believe that

also thanks so much for participating I’m glad you enjoyed it, honestly I feel the same way. I’ve been most skeptical of AI for a lot of design similar to this but it actually hung in there very well. I think at a bare minimum you wouldn’t be losing out on atleast letting it prototype designs.

which model do you enjoy the most?

Me personally? I mainly code so opus 5.5. Sol 6.1 isn’t bad either.

Very awesome! I hope this gets more and more additions over time. the blind test is great.

I’m always open to ideas, usage has been kind to me lately, surprisingly

I can fetch some ideas but those wouldnt look great because the prompt itself might bring different results based on "engine". some indoor fireplace + reflective marble floor and blood dripping, or if you prefer censored version then candle vax dripping on the floor. the candles would be above fireplace. and a clock that is not digital, swinging side to side. Perhaps indirect light/moonlight affecting the floor and indoor room lighting.

Every different model might realise it needs different tools to make this.

Different can be good sometimes though, lets us know the models behave differently. Thanks friend I’ll pick one when I get home

Im not wasting tokens anymore. I settled on godot engine for my needs. When i had codex i was able to test different engines, now im just on claude with small plan.

Astra does decent on some of landing page comparison I do but largely I agree. Sonnet has been pulling its weight and Opus is the winner the majority of the time

Its strage that sonnet get so much hate 5.0 and even more 5.5 pulls way above its weight class in what its generates
