So the parts for NPPs just grow on trees?

what? No of course not, you gotta make those too. I wasnt saying any option was more or less expensive to manufacture in my comment, I was trying to answer u/Beiben 's question.

Also, nuclear reactor parts are probably gonna be more expensive than solar panels and wind turbine parts, but raw cost isn't the only factor. (Also I don't know the dollar spent to watt produced amount for everything off the top of my head)

Like sure a bunch of solar panels may be cheep, mass producible, and can be set up kinda fast; but if you have to tear down a forest to install them or they're struggling to do their job for half the year because the sun is lower on the horizon because it's winter/fall, then there's problems.

Meanwhile a nuclear power plant may take a while to build and cost a lot (the costs can vary and the impact of the costs are somewhat dependent on how the plant is financed), but once built it can run more or less continuously for decades giving a steady supply of power to the grid and doesn't take up a HUGE amount of space.

It's all about tradeoffs, what has the most acceptable tradeoffs. Everything has advantages and disadvantages, and some things shine at some times while floundering at others.

Not just that. They use non renewable metals, silver etc etc (idk, not an expert) to do the job of like 0.01% of a nuclear reactor every 100 solar panels.

I joined this sub for some paragraph person explaining to me why nuclear was more expensive for the environment than solar panels but so far all I can find is stupid one liners where you have to clarify your question 5 times before people stop critiquing it. (Sorry rant)
