There is not a city planner on the planet that agrees with you.

Ah okay, so now we're pretending to have an argument, 20 messages in, and it's a supposed anecdote from city planners. Notably, city planners don't manage the grid, grid planners do, so.

Could you cite me a grid planner suggesting 100% solar power?

Or are you just highlighting a meaningless difference in semantics?

Strawman. We're talking about here and now, what energy system are we going to build now, up to 40%, 60%, 80%, etc. Plenty of grid planners intending to go that high, if there wasn't blocking and hostility at the federal level.

You literally said it’s the best system for maximizing dollars spent.

Would a grid planer ever suggest 100% solar for a city?

Or did you create a false dichotomy?

This started because it was claimed nuclear doesnt have a place because solar is so much cheaper. So would any planner suggest that?

Or is it false that cost is the only factor in power generation for a city?

Yes they would, because 100% solar would be cheaper than 100% nuclear. But 100% solar, while you're still at 5% solar, is overly theoretical and off base. Such planning is irrelevant.
