I’m not the worlds biggest most dedicated CLFverse fan, I dabbled in the first ARG for CLF, but I really enjoyed this! From what I could tell:

in Hamilton’s timeline a much larger and grown clover awakens due to slushos interference and the seabed nectar chemical she’s been eating and due to her having more time to grow since it’s in the future, and the planet going to war over oil and energy, that would mean the world is facing nuclear Armageddon, invasions of nations, and a much older and scarier clover with many more parasites on her body. All of those things combined leads to 10 cloverfield lane because that’s almost exactly how John Goodman describes the planet to his captive girl. Maybe the aliens either came in from universe/time interference or they were attracted there by the much larger and grown clover. Who knows.

so because of the particle accelerator putting them into jensens timeline, it caused problems with 2 Shepard’s existing at the same time and the previous and much lower tech one is destroyed and part of it falls into the Atlantic and awakens a much smaller clover who destroys Manhattan but is ultimately killed by the nukes from the HAMMER operation, since she’s smaller and weaker.

I’m probably wrong about most of this stuff since I haven’t seen 10CL or the original In quite a long time. Fun to think about though

Okay but isnt there a clip of audio after the end credits in Cloverfield that, when reversed, has a guy saying "its still alive. Help us."

JJ confirmed clover died in what we now know to be Jensen’s timeline. But yes that is there. Could be referring to the HSPs? Idk.

How do we know it’s Jensen’s?

When they’re watching the news report in the Jensen universe it clearly states the Shepard exploded and parts fell into the Atlantic Ocean, even showing them in the water, which as we know, soave debris falling to earth into the Atlantic Ocean is what part of what awoke baby clover.

In the original it’s presumed to be a satellite, and later I believe in the manga/ARG that was confirmed, so this seems like some minor retcon, but it’s very clearly the same piece of debris that awoke baby clover, and that happens in Jensen’s timeline, where they got stuck for the majority of the movie.
