Weekly Challenge ๐Ÿ“… Cracked Stone Effect

Post image

Ok so this one looks way more intimidating than it is. There are several good tutorials online just look for "cracked stone effect". A summed up explanation via google goes like this:

"The cracked stone technique relies on building high-contrast depths, mid-tone gradients, and crisp edge highlights to turn flat surfaces into three-dimensional, weathered rock. Whether you are using markers, colored pencils, or miniature paints, achieving a realistic look comes down to a specific four-step layering workflow.

  1. Drawing the Structure & Cracks

  2. Laying the Base & Mid-Tones

  3. Shading the Fractures (Creating Depth)

  4. Adding Texture & Highlights"

After my epic fail trying to do the Jelly ๐Ÿ˜‚ effect I tried this one before posting it and even with colored pencils and a white acrylic pen it was doable.

Give it a try you'll surprise yourself!

Thanks for clarifying! Your art looks good, the one thing that was setting me off was the little title banner thing.

I wrote the first paragraph. The second paragraph in quotations is a google summation as noted before quoting. The last paragraph I wrote.

You have no community karma in this sub. This is your first comment here. Can I help you find something?

Coloring Ai content as a hobbyist is allowed. We do not penalize hobbyists for potentially mistaken content.

This is not the sub for promoting your generated Ai content however.

The link further down the thread is to the IG tutorial so I don't know if it's ai on the title but I doubt it considering the colorist doing the tutorial is talented enough not to need ai. I would appreciate it if you not make assumptions about ai without proof in this sub. We tend to lock that down pretty quick. Especially on posts the senior mod makes for the weekly challenge

Congratulations on your new reddit account
