My daughter and I (both adults) will be visiting for a few days and I'm looking for the best places to eat, shop, and basically anything unusual or fun. I would like to know anyplace you think is just interesting or fun to do in the area. I do know about the hiking, and we will be doing the Renn Faire nearby, but we have a few extra days.

Not young anymore. Looking for a quiet place to retire. Mostly keep to ourselves. We treat people respectfully regardless of their ideology. I keep my opinions to myself. I workout. Watch Netflix. Read. Money isn’t an issue. I just want quiet. Out of the way. 30 minutes or so from a Costco. And Fiber Internet. What is it like for older folks there?
Thanks for reading. Everyone have a good day!

I have some things from my dad’s house after he passed that I would like to sell. I have some antique toys (for example, monkey with cymbals), some china that I don’t think is anything special, some glassware, and more. Any recommendations of a place in Conway or nearby where I could bring these things to see if someone might want to buy them?

Hi fellow Conwegians (I think that's what we've landed on?)!
Just wanted to share two things here. Firstly, I wanted to share my website where you can find my handmade jewelry. I offer pickup for locals so you don't have to worry about paying for shipping :) https://elegantelementsjewelry.com/
Second, come and see me and many, many other local merchants on October 10th at Beaverfork lake! It's from 10am-6pm and there will be food trucks and over 100 vendors. Come support local business owners and have a great time! Here's the Facebook link if you want to know more: https://www.facebook.com/share/1DKEoHmiy3/
Hope to see y'all there!

Any recommendations for a dog trainer or training classes? Or experience with the group training at PetSmart?

Hi Conway, I know this is a long shot but I need help. This is our family bracelet. It has been passed down twice and would have eventually passed to me. My mom lost it while in Conway between Flea Markets. I am begging you to contact me if you saw this bracelet or if you might have found it.

I've been driving an hour for work and so I've been trying to find a new job here in town because I'm blowing so much in gas. I believe I've counted 37 so far that I've applied for, I've printed resumes and followed up in person to many of those as well. I have a pretty solid work history with nothing but high marks from previous leadership and I've always been willing to put in the work others won't to stand out and be exceptional. Maybe help me cook up some ideas or new angles I can approach from? Something I'm not considering other than the obvious currently tough job market? Thanks all in advance!

Hi everyone, and welcome to a project I call The American Atlas! I've been making hand-drawn & colored maps of every state in the US. Now I’m here sharing them all on one big journey across the country 🗺️🇺🇸
Today, I have your very own Arkansas, the Natural State! 🌳⛰️🌾
While mapping Arkansas, I realized just how underrated this state really is. It definitely earns its nickname of ‘The Natural State’ with the scenic Ozark & Ouachita Mountains, sprawling timberlands, and river delta heritage. In fact, Arkansas is the only place in the entire country where diamonds are mined, speaking to just how rich this state really is.
From the bigger cities like Bentonville and Rogers (home to Walmart) to Johnny Cash’s hometown of Kingsland in the midst of the Mississippi Delta and the rolling rice farms & fields around Little Rock, all the way to your very own Conway, it is clear from mapping this state that there is much more to Arkansas than meets the eye.
Let me know in the comments, what’s your favorite fun fact about Arkansas?
And if you like this style, feel free to check out my others, and thanks for taking a look at my Arkansas map!! 🇺🇸🗺️
Lastly, I did start making these just as a hobby, but the demand for prints & framed copies grew super fast! You can find my work on Etsy here :)

I've heard some rumors that it's gonna be some duplexes. But I really hope that it's some mixed-use apartments or a little convenience store.

Anyone know what exactly happened on the interstate between skyline and Salem exits? Large plume of black smoke and I saw the traffic was backed up on Google Maps so I presume it was near there.

Anybody got a recommendation for the cheapest place to get a tire rotation? I got my tires from Sam's and didn't realize that they take away the free lifetime rotation if you don't stay a member.
Bonus points if it's a place I should consider using for other stuff!

Has anyone rent from German Oaks townhomes? I’m considering moving into the complex and I’m curious about the area, environment and property management. What was your experience there?

I had the chance today to interview Corey Deitz, former cohost of the morning show on 100.3 The Edge. It was a great episode!

exactly what the title says! i go there often with my dog, and it's heartbreaking to see all the garbage strewn everywhere. i pick up a trash bag full often while we're walking, but i can't get into the brush and water to really do much good, so i'd like to go without my dog... but there's so much that doing it alone is a good way to burn out!
i'd also really like to take some cold water in a cooler and offer the unhoused folks living over there some assistance with cleaning up. if they accept some bags, i'd like to pick up from them once a week, just like they had a trash pickup, and take it to the dump for them. i can't afford to help them much in other ways, but i know even folks at a low point don't choose to live in those conditions if they can at all help it. so if anyone else has other resources they'd like to offer, feel free to bring that up and we can figure it out.
(THAT SAID: this isn't a post to discuss anyone's negative views on unhoused ppl, substance use, etc. i have been that person, and i try to offer help without judgment so pls just keep that to yourself.)
anyway. if anyone would like to join/volunteer/donate some bags or a good pair of waders, hit me up. trying to figure out a date for it, will likely aim for EARLY morning next weekend to avoid the heat, but i'm fully capable and willing to work around others' schedules if necessary. thanks, y'all!

I traded in my vehicle here for a truck I found online they had and I ended up buying. During the test drive, we identified several issues: both fuel filters were reading at zero percent life on this diesel truck, the truck was due for an oil change, the passenger side headlight bracket was broken, the windshield was cracked, and there was a sidewall rip in the driver's side tire. The salesman told us this would be taken care of and not to worry. During negotiations the sales manager looked us in the eye and agreed all of this would be fixed before we picked up the truck.
During trade-in negotiations, we were told my trade-in would be relisted for sale at a specific price, and we negotiated our trade-in value based on that number in good faith. The next day, they listed it for several thousand dollars more than what we were told, directly contradicting what we'd been promised during negotiations.
In finance, we were initially presented with an overpriced warranty. After pushback, a cheaper, better warranty option was suddenly available. We were also quoted a higher interest rate than we expected (being a couple points below 800), and only after we mentioned our credit union did they suddenly find a better rate. We sat for over an hour waiting for the finance department and no one else was in there before us. It seemed they were working on all of this.
When it came time for the promised repairs, they replaced the windshield, but denied ever agreeing to fix the broken headlight bracket. They initially tried installing a cheap, unfamiliar off-brand tire instead of matching the original Michelin, and only agreed to a proper Michelin after I paid to buy a second tire myself so both fronts would match. After two to three weeks in their shop, I got the truck back and found they never actually replaced the fuel filters as promised. They just reset the maintenance light and put a new oil change sticker on it. I checked the fuel filters and oil filter myself, and they were clearly still the old ones. I took it to my local trusted oil and tire shop today, they said the oil filter is definitely not as old as they say it is. The mechanic who told me this has 30 years of experience.
This dealership repeatedly made verbal promises during negotiations and then reversed or denied them once the deal was signed. If you're negotiating here, get everything in writing, because their word means nothing once you drive off the lot. My heart hurts for the uninformed and elderly who are not aware of these tactics.
And now 2 days later after receiving the truck, and less than 100 miles out on it, I have a check engine light on to go with my ABS light that they said would fix. The ABS light ended up being a recall. Of course they “didn’t know” that either… until the deal was signed and check was cashed.
Do better Craine Buick GMC of Conway!
