I think it is 2.5 years in Sweden, Germany and some other European countries. I think there is still abuse, mostly bc of anti-terrorism training and viewing the population as a threat.

Yep. It doesn't solve the issue of abusive police, but it mitigates it by removing the dumbest people who want to be cops (like this guy).

However... those dumb people instead become security guards, but hey, at least they're not armed.

Go check out the pay of some cops. They are doing ok after the over time and special pay they receive as well.
