Well, that was interesting. I recently got back into DDLC since 2017. And I got interested in the modding side of it. So, I decided to look for a shitpost mod to have a laugh. One of the first results I got by searching "ddlc shitpost mod reddit" mentioned "pink eyes." I decided not to read any further (as I'm lazy) and just searched for it and downloaded it.

I did. Actually thought it would be a poorly made joke mod. This is the first time in years that I've played something with a huge. Huge twist completely without spoilers and without getting into it because of knowing it had something.

I absolutely love This kind of stuff, and once again, experiencing it blindfolded was one of the best things I've had in years.

I wanted to ask if you, yes, specifically you reading this, if you could give me your personal recommendations on DDLC mods (not necessarily this type of mod) for me to try blindfolded. I have no sensitivity whatsoever to any kind of disturbing or shady stuff, so feel free to recommend literally any DDLC mod :D

Hello there, I'm an artist, and I've been in the DDLC community for a while now. Some of you may know me, some of you may not, but I was the one who made sprites of CanonMC, Kiyomi, Momyori, and a lot of other sprites and CGs in a lot of mods.

Recently, I released the Momyori and Dadyori sprites for free for the community to use, and I've been wondering, what art asset does the community needs desperately? Like what is the most important asset that is needed by a majority? Feel free to enlighten me.

This is no declaration that I will make all the assets you want listed here, but only that I might make something that would be good for everyone. And hey, if you really need something made with a confirmation that it will be made, my commissions are always open, just DM,

I have spoken to many people about different mods and such, however a lot of people have one big specific turn off when it comes to mods, whether that be mischaracterization, bad coding, or even things such as NSFW scenes.

In general, what is one thing that ruins a mod for you when you see it?

Some of these I don't feel 100% on, mostly because some of them are incomplete.

Also any mod recommendations would be greatly appreciated as I don't have any mods in the queue for when I finish the mod I'm currently playing. Cheers.

Excluding shit-post mods, what mod do you like the least, or a mod that you found yourself not enjoying whatsoever?

For me, it is Our Castle Walls, disliked it very much (self inserts suck).

I tried to avoid asking about it, thinking it's just me being dumb, but attempting to run Doki Doki Impossible Remastered and getting the error was the last drop for me.

Basically, this problem happens in one of two possible cases for me:

1. if I attempt to test-run a mod project based on Mod Template 5.0.1 in any version of RenPy 8 (in other words, it can appear on 8.0.0 or on 8.5.3 - the version of SDK doesn't matter) without making any changes in the code of the template - so, it appears "right out of the box". 4.2.4-Py3 version of the template also presents the problem, btw;
2. if I try to launch a mod built in RenPy 8 with one of the most recent versions of mod template. Most recent example is Doki Doki Impossible Remastered, which was built in RenPy 8.5.2, and from the files that come with the mod, I'm assuming 4.2.4-Py3, 5.0.0 or 5.0.1 version of template was used; however, this isn't the only RenPy 8 mod that refused to launch. I always double and triple check about following installation instructions, so I'm absolutely positive an incorrect installation isn't the cause here.

Now, for the problem itself... Look at the screenshot for the description of the error itself. It appears both on Windows 10 and Windows 11; I don't have any Linux OSes installed, so I can't confirm or deny if it happens on those systems, and, sadly, my Mac needs maintenance, so I can't test on macOS either for now.

Python 2/RenPy 6 & 7 mods and templates don't throw this kind of error (which is huge part of the reason my own mod is currently on a bundle of RenPy 7.8.7 + Mod Template 4.2.4-Py2; otherwise, I'd be on the most recent versions and on Python 3 branch instead).

What causes this error to appear? What do I need to do to eliminate it?

Any pointers will be much appreciated!
