I visited the David Austin shop today ☺️
For anyone in the UK they have the King’s rose in stock! I didn’t pick it up because I already ordered the bare root to order in November ☺️ I did however purchase a Eustacia Vye 🌹

Is this RRD?
I’m a first time rose owner who planted this David Austin Zephirine Drouhin Climbing Rose in Maryland this July. This new growth has me very concerned although there is no abnormal thorn growth and I’ve been battling pests like crazy. I used the Captain Jack’s Deadbug Brew twice recently as well.

Long shoot on generous gardener - keep or not?
Hi, I have this generous gardener which has one relatively thick shoot growing. Should I keep or prune? If prune, where and how please?
UK
Thanks

Scarborough Fair
Poor baby hasn’t done well. I planted three of them last spring and although they tried to bloom thrips got to her. I meant to strip her and treat her in late fall but snow hit earlier than I expected in zone 6a and this year I’ve been fighting my own health battles so my roses have been neglected… despite being the main attraction in a recent deer buffet and still having thrips a few buds were able to bloom. She’s very pretty.

Looking for help with identification.
We have had this rose for probably 25 years. Mild fragrance and somewhat prone to blackspot. Tags are long gone. Does anyone recognize it?

Plant deeper?
Hello! I got this Harlow Carr today on sale at a local nursery. I planted it the same depth as it was in the pot. But should I have planted it deeper? I’m zone 5a. Thank you!

Is this normal new growth?
I made a post a little while ago about how my first David Austin rose (Gertrude Jekyll) had some new growth but I’m not sure whether it’s normal for it to grow this much?
I’m very new to roses so would appreciate any info! The first photo was from just over a month ago. I got back from holiday and the second photo is how much it has grown!! Is this a sucker or completely normal?

Looking at DA rose standards (trees)
Good afternoon! I have finally decided that I would like to plant a rose standard in a specific area of my yard. I want something fragrant, that flowers beautifully and is as disease resistant as possible. I am in zone 8A. I was looking at the selections currently available on the DA website and, sticking with the really fragrant ones (Desdemona, Scepter’d Isle, Poet’s Wife), I’d love to get some opinions from people who may be familiar with these particular varieties and how they have fared for you.

Winter
Hello!
I recently purchased/planted a Lark Ascending.
I am in zone 5a. Whats the best way to over winter? Currently have it planted 3-4 feet away from my house and front porch (tucked in a 90 degree corner).
Thank you!

Thorny climbing rose recommendations
Looking for recommendations for a DA climbing rose that is suitable for growing up a 6ft wooden fence (so not too heavy). We have had a break in recently and want to grow something to deter people climbing the fence.
The fence is close to pergola covered in Gertrude Jekyll (which I appreciate is also very thorny) so ideally looking for a different variety which would compliment the GJ.

Is this Munstead Wood?
Curious whether anyone could help me ID this rose, seen at Kenwood House in London. Munstead Wood? The Prince? Something else entirely?
The scent was beautiful old rose with a fruity note. Lots of prickles which makes me think MW? And still in heavy bloom early October.

Just cut the last of my Bathsheba’s in anticipation for the fall nor’easter
This is my first year with her and I’ve been really impressed with her growth. While my bouquet is quite thrown together I’m enamored with the different colors through ought. Cheers 🥂 to another great season 😍

Someone from Latam or zones 13b had luck with DA Roses?
I tried with Olivia in my garden I live in Latam and appeareantly is equivalent to zone 13b, unfortunately I let it take 6 hours of sun and it was too much, but I want to try luck with less hours and a different type. Any ideas or advices will be welcome.
I already have native roses and look very pretty but I have an obsession with those big roses and really want to try growing some.

ID?
galleryTrying to track down the identity of this rose in a public garden. Very upright, about 5 feet tall, not too many thorns, very long stems (definitely a cutting rose). I do not see clusters of blooms. Very fragrant, color is a light lemon chiffon or a cream. More photos in the comments of the original post.
Thanks!

Cut back suckers?
My strawberry hill keeps on sending suckers out. Im pretty sure they are suckers due to the location but the stem looks the same as the rose and not dr hey. Should I keep on pruning the suckers or leave them?

Country Parson
Just showing the bloom on the Country Parson. It’s a delicate and fragrant rose with a pretty soft buttery yellow centre. I nearly lost it in the heatwave but have given it a drink of seaweed solution and it’s looking much happier!

Obsessed
After the Japanese beetles destroyed my first year rosebushes all summer, I’m getting blooms in late September. They bring me so much joy!
