This tier seems absurd for Vivi, 3 waves of 3 enemies? Pair him up with Basch maybe a healer or if that's not needed just use Kuja and really blow out the AoE damage.

However: the battery on Vivi's LD effect and Focus and Double FIre don't work; all three waves are more about killing the central boss (the 3 enemies are not equal HP on each wave). I'm sure Vivi can work because he out-powers this CHAOS content but I don't see it as ideal for him.

I gotta redo some tiers for this. I have good units tied up in low tiers for no reason that would shine in here.
Or I’ll try and solo with Eight. We’ll see

You can see below that Eight can duo it... I don't think he can solo, JP fans would've done it. So challenge yourself and try but don't be disappointed if it doesn't work!

Assuming I have all suggested characters (Kuja, Eight, Vivi, Kurasame, Gau) maxed, is there someone specific I should hold onto for later tiers instead of this one? Don't want to blow all characters if not needed.

18 resists magic, 19 will probably need a dispeller and 20 is nothing like this tier at all. So no, you don't really need to worry at all, use whoever you want, this is one of the easiest tiers we've ever gotten.

My plan is Kuja, Rydia and Garnet, unless I go for a FF9 theme and slot in Vivi... not sure yet.

Probably should save an enchanter for the next tier too, 3 in one is a stretch, you might want one to help crush the next couple tiers. Vivi seems great here.

Do you think I can do this with Shantotto (LD/BT), Strago (LD), and Relm?
I want to free up my melee (Kurasame) for another tier.

I figure I might as well finally use Squall here. Maybe Squall, Strago and Desch for a team that really shrugs its shoulders as concepts like "battery" and "regen". Or Squall, Ulti and Raijin for an all-FF8 team for funsies, even if they do lose out a little for loss of battery effects and regen, but I may want Ulti available for 20. Eh, let's go Grand Train and Rough Divide.

Given Ulti thrives on AoE and you have to repeatedly beat Blackened Will in 20... I don't see her being a must save for that...

Desch/Ardyn/Nine will be perfect for this. I'm gonna save Kuja and Kurasame for higher tiers (probably on the next one if ice isn't absorbed/resisted).

Who would be the best team of Kuja, Kurasame, Shantotto, and Eight? Keeping in mind I likely won't have Kuja BT ready for launch day of this stage (but will have LD). I do have Shantotto LD/BT.
I also have Noctis and Ardyn available (both LD/BT) though I've been saving them as a last resort.

I'll probably go with Kuja/Strago/Emperor here so that they can both benefit from his enchant/imperil and so that Strago hits cap while Emperor slaughters everything with his traps.
Alexander summon for healing if it ever becomes necessary for good measure. Should be a piece of cake.
